Some time ago i decided i wanted to build my own OS because why not.
I have next to no coding experience and realize it will take years for me to ever be close to achieving that goal.
Can someone who has more experience orient me in this project : what should i learn first, what are the most crucial things, and what are a good series of books to start with ?

Read this OP. This will help you build your OS. It has everything you have ot learn. Good Luck.

Grab the MINIX book, then go to their site and download the exact MINIX version used in the book. Install in a VM and study it for a few years until you realize how fucking stupid you are; finally, commit sudoku.

If somebody has my ip, is it possible for them to ddos my connection ONLY to a specific site? My connection is completely fine for all other sites while this happens. Or is it possible to do this in some way that's not a ddos attack?

I am a streamer on a somewhat small site and my stream gets cut out at VERY suspicious times over the last couple months and I don't believe they are "random" at this point. I've checked with my isp, am connected to my router using an ethernet cable, and otherwise have no issues except that my stream stops.

Sounds more like malware or a RAT cutting packets sent to twitch.tv. It's probably just an issue with twitch though, as ddos attacks only ping ip addresses, and can't do what you described.
>>
>>58727994
I'm thinking it doesn't seem to be an issue with the site due to the suspicious timing. I've asked around if other streamers had similar issues but nobody has. It's been happening for months now...

As for malware, would anybody really care to write and get something installed on my computer for me personally? They would have to pay attention to my streams and sit there waiting to mess up my connection at specific times. If that's the case it must be a really big personal grudge.

>Apple has included “Night Shift” mode in the first developer beta of macOS Sierra 10.12.4. Night Shift originated in iOS 9.3 to make your iPhone display easier on your eyes when used in the dark.

>Similarly, Night Shift for macOS will change the screen’s color temperature from a harsh blue to a warmer yellow, so that you will have fewer issues going to sleep after using your Mac. On iOS, Night Shift turns on automatically around sunset and resets back the next morning. You can also turn it on manually in iOS’s Control Center, which you access by swiping up on your screen.

This is the beginning of the next era of the computing industry. The "specs chase" will end and R&D will go into design and ease-of-use instead, leading to a better user experience for all of us.

Reading the documentation I realized that theres a Guest System Something that basically are like 'drivers' that make your VM work properly, but they're not available for FreeBSD. I'm thinking I can either install Windows (since it seems to be the main focus of VM) or Solaris (same company means they will work great together right?), and my only requirements are that the screen can be set to 1080p and that it can run smoothly and play 1080 video smoothly. Am I asking for too much out of a VM?

Christ dude I'm giving it one whole core and 3 whole GB of RAm as well as the maximum VRAM that the VM allows me to. How the fuck am I being a jew? I'm spoiling the shit out of that VM giving it twice of what I should and the little shit still won't play 480p video properly for fucks sake.

you'll need to install the virtualbox additions, not sure if they even make them for freebsd.

Using biologic components in computer systems, eg mouse brains at processors.

wrote ur thesis:
In recent years, much research has been devoted to the study of hash tables; however, few have harnessed the study of lambda calculus. This follows from the refinement of DHTs. A typical quagmire in software engineering is the analysis of agents. An intuitiveriddle in hardware and architecture is the study of I/O automata. Nevertheless, rasterization alone may be able to fulfill the need for symbiotic algorithms. In order to fix this issue, we describe new permutable technology (FopLares), validating that 64 bit architectures [16] can be made certifiable, scalable, and secure. Nevertheless, the refinement of SMPs might not be the panacea that cryptographers expected. It should be noted
that FopLares is built on the principles of software engineering. Obviously, we disprove that though fiber-optic cables and Byzantine fault tolerance can connect to fulfill this intent, the little-known symbiotic algorithm for the understanding of write-ahead logging by S.

So a few weeks ago I started noticing that my internet often stops and after it was down for two days in a row I called the technician from the cable company. He noticed that someone attached a cheap Chinese splitter on my cable outside my apartment and is stealing my cable so he cut the thing off.

Only one fucking day after the fixed it this mother fucker of a neighbor puts another splitter and my internet dies again, so again, I call the company. This time they cut the cable, rewire everything and put special connectors that cannot be removed with regular tools, they place the cables back in to the wall and seal everything. They also said that inspection will be here in a day or two to see who is doing that
>great, problem solved ?
>nope

One week after, no inspection came, but the fucking faggot neighbor takes the seal of the wall, cuts all the cables(and the connectors) and rewires the entire thing again with a fucking splitter coming out of my cable. Not only that, this time it's a four way cheap splitter with four cables connected to it.

What to do ? Do i just call the cable company again so that they could fix the shit again only for the neighbor to come up with a better way to steal the cable ? I want to fuck his shit up somehow, should I run high voltage trough the cable and fry his equipment on the other side ?

I know he isn't stealing my internet , it's impossible when I have the modem box. He is stealing TV signal for three TV's (or possibly three neighbors together are stealing the thing). But when three of them are stealing the internet signal is so weak that it basically dies
