Dear /g/, I do a lot of typing and gaming while others are asleep and from what I understand you cant really get a quiet mechanical keyboard, so do you guys have suggestions for a membrane keyboard?
Programmable macro buttons would be nice but not required.

Is microsoft hiring low energy edge shills these days?
Such a pity. I knew desktop is dying along with microsoft but this is just sad.
>>58740793
It has worked for me marvelous.
I'll start:
>OneNote webclipper
Sup, Microsoft merchant?
>>58740723
pleas sir this is very good browser web extension
>>58740711
That is pretty useful.
I'd say the three I absolutely will not use a browser without though are LastPass, uBlock Origin and HTTPS Everywhere.
Share horror experiences of using a friend's PC.
>No adblock
>steam, origin, skype, and 50 other programs on startup
>geforce experience
>java and flash update notifications
>every "free" program included with software that gets installed when you forget to uncheck it
>opencady
>go on friends computer
>see ads
>realize that built-in adware is now acceptable
>have an existential crisis
>not having geforce and startup

>dad asks me to help fix a neighbour's computer that he and his three daughters are using
>adware everywhere, including the wallpaper
>default windows xp theme
>bearshare with tons of porn, random music, .mp3.exe, jpg files downloaded and just left there
>they have floppies full of desktop shortcuts (they think they're backing up full games or programs)
>desktop littered with all sorts of files and shortcuts arranged randomly
>hardcore porn ad banners injected into every website by some kind of malware (also they only have internet explorer)
>I order exterminatus and proceed to wipe the disk clean and try installing some unholy version of windows they've got on a dvd
>installation gets stuck twice at the same step, I take a look inside the pc
>the HDD and DVD are somehow connected to the same tape connector using some kind of a homemade adapter that kept working for some unknown reason (can't remember the details)
>tell the guy to get a new pc because this one is busted beyond repair
I wasted like 4 hours on this shit because everything was so slow. At first I thought there's some hope of restoring the system to a usable state but had to abandon this idea.

That seems like a pretty decent card you got there.
Which model/manufacturer?
Why have Intel's IPC gains stagnated so much since Sandy? Wasn't the jump from Westmere to Sandy 50?
How can IPC ever be more than 1? Genuinely asking. Utilizing pipelining, with X stages, you could only get 1 instruction done for every X cycles, right? And starting at the X+1th cycle, you can get 1 instruction per cycle, all assuming there are no data dependencies.
>>58740536
I'm assuming OP meant 50%
>>58740556
What? No, I'm talking about the raw number of instructions that are completed at the end of every cycle.
Apple just had a MASSIVE quarter! iPhone 7 was HUGE!
Haters proven wrong and BTFO!
>Apple Inc. said demand for its iPhone 7 helped deliver record revenue, ending three consecutive quarters of declines, but the new device failed to lift profitability as margins came under pressure.
>While the iPhone 7 didn’t post the double-digit increases that previous iPhone models had in their full quarters on the market, Apple said sales of the new model helped lift total iPhone shipments 5% to a record 78.2 million during the three months through December. The phone, which accounts for two-thirds of Apple’s sales, helped boost revenue 3.3% to $78.35 billion.
>Profit in the quarter fell 2.6% to $17.89 billion, or $3.36 a diluted share. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters had expected earnings of $3.22 a share and $77.4 billion in revenue for the quarter.
>Shares of the company rose 2.5% to $124.39 in after-hours trading.
How will /g/ recover??
>>58740418
Mac sales...
> Q1 2016 5312 units, revenue $6,746m
> Q4 2016 4886 units, revenue $5,739m
> Q1 2017 5374 units, revenue $7,244m
So people are buying more new Macs despite what the /g/ was saying?
How can /g/ be so wrong all the time?????

I thought apple was finished and bankrupt because dongles and headphone jack etc
Why is /g/ never right?
normies
>>58740204
But /g/ told me iPhone 7 is not popular and people care about the headphone jack.
>>58740472
/g/ doesn't take into account the number of people who are fucking old, and are on plans that let them upgrade to the newest iphones for free.
That and most people will get the iphone, realize it doesnt have a headphone jack, and then just WELL FUCK. I GUESS I'LL BUY BLUETOOTH. and then praise it as amazing
Why is it so difficult to select one line of text from a paragraph on an iPad? Whenever I try to highlight one line in several rows of text, the tablet assumes that I want to select the entire block of writing. The apps I use to type seem to be quite fine, but the Safari browser isn't capable of performing well in this field. I struggle to see any form of intense effort required from Apple tech support to fix an issue this simple. Has /g/ experienced any issues like this?
pic related, it's someone else with the same issue
>inb4 "applefag"
I'm not retarded, so I can take typing a few words out myself. Never really understood clipboardfags.
Text selection on webkit has always been shit
>>58739997
Still, Apple should make an effort to address the issue
what torrent client do you use to download tv shows?
>>58739966
A TV cable subscription and DVR
The best is qbittorent. It's on GPL, it uses libtorrent and it has a light version of a QT gui.
Most competitors that are nearly as good are also on libtorrent, so it's similar anyway.
I don't usually shill for linuxtard software but this one does the job well.
>>58739966
Forget the client, I'm struggling to find trackers with anything good these days. It's like if you don't download something within a week of it being released, all the seeders are gone.
Wish I still had the logins at private trackers that I lost years ago.

I got 4 more hours of battery life on average after tweaking my settings. Way more if my phone is idle for most of the day
>>58739810
Nougat has decent Doze settings as is; my phone's standby life is already sufficient.
I'm also not rooted and don't plan to, as I enjoy Android Pay.
