Hiding all the 'modern' botnet shit makes 10 look much cleaner
It dosen't take that much effort or money to upgrade to a crt monitor anon, why haven't you done it?
>>58794566
Because the picture is fuzzy, the resolution is too low, they weigh more than I do and take up my entire desk, and they lack modern connections like DVI and HDMI.
>>58794585
Those first two points are false... many pc crts (at least the good ones) can archive decent resolutions, and are sharp if you don't push them too high...
like anon... whatever CRTs you had were obviously crap.
Also why do you need "modern connections"?
>>58794624
The CRT monitors I've had are all between 13 and 17 inches, and are all OEM brands, shipped with bargain-basement late-90s computers. Modern connections are necessary because modern GPU's don't have VGA.

But I did already

good thing actually
>link to xkcd comic about competing redundant standards
>tfw you can still watch your favourite music videotapes from the 90's
>you can still play with games on your Commodore 64 and NES
>but data on CD's, SSD's and HDD's 30 years from now will be completely corrupted and unusable
Was rejecting technology that stood test of time our biggest mistake?
>>58794247
Yes anon. And archival media is absurdly expensive.
Tape is used for backup which is what you should be doing regulary if you want to keep data for 30 years.
>>58794247
The reason is probably redundancy. In an old storage medium, the bits are made up of thousands or millions of times as many atoms. Of course they corrupt a lot less, but can store much less too. Plus many old media are analog, so they don't just corrupt, but get worse over time just the same.
The most incorruptible solution is probably cloud storage.
Programmers of /g/. Do you actually memorize all of the libraries, modules, headers to use or do you some times find yourself browsing stackoverflow looking for answers?
I've been programming for 5 years now and i still find myself consorting the interwebs for information i should probably already know by now.
Am i just a brainlet or does anyone else do this?
All I know about programming is cout<<" ";
Can I learn the basics at least in 1 year? Pls respond
If you work on a large-scale project using current tools then you're unlikely to remember every detail of those tools, plus sometimes you'll hit bugs or edge cases in the tools you're using where you won't find a solution anywhere in the official documentation
Memorize? Sure if I do it enough times.
It's always handy to a reference page for the library you are using.

I want to learn Assembly but how do I practice what I study?
>>58792294
In my computer architecture course we did some simple projects at the beginning like:
> Implement arithmetic operators like increment, decrement, add, sub, mult, abs, divide. in assembly
> Break up machine language instruction by their parts (op code, destination, carry, etc.)
> See how things like structs, loops, etc. are implemented from C into assembly
