Opinions on Telegram? Or any other suggested secure chatting program? Anything that's encrypted and, preferably, multiplatform (desktops in addition to phones).
I'd like to use Signal, but it's only on Android, iOS, and Chrome store; the Android version requires Google Play services (kinda defeats the point), and Chrome store apps only run on Chrome (double defeats the point).

Hey /g/, I recently hurt my wrist, and it's uncomfortable for me to use my mouse. For the most part, I can get by pretty well with just the keyboard, but browsing the web is still difficult. Does anybody here have any good solutions for mouseless web browsing?
one of these

I ain't trusting that shit as long as I live. They always have to phone home, and with that comes the risk of remote hackers crashing my car.

what's the consensus on the palemoon browser?

proven to beacon home, steer clear
if you liked what firefox was a few years ago, you'll probably like pale moon
its compatibility isn't perfect so you may still need a second modern browser (which you should have to quarantine flash anyway)
comfy UI but based on a ridiculously outdated version of Firefox. mostly shit.

Duckduckgo doesn't care about your privacy, you have none.
Why do you still use Duckduckgo?

What? Just use space.

they hate him because he wants to end H-1B slavery and wants to increase salaries of American software engineers.
Most were having huge issues when he pulled the visa cancellation shit, people literally had to go home, get a new visa then come back to hear the order was overruled
the import tariff he wants is making companies either stop caring about it start caring about America, Samsung for example is building a us factory, other brands for example, will just be 30% more expensive to americans

Why is it always so impossible to find useful, unabridged information for 3D graphics?
Lynda is the only site where I've found tutorials to be consistently thorough in their coverage of a topic, and even with Lynda there isn't the necessary information to create a mathematically sensible, efficiently running (passing three different matrices into the vertex shader isn't efficient, nor is doing calculations that can be done per frame per object instead) matrix transformation.
>he pays for tutorials
Basically, the field of 3D graphics software is full of people who learned by scraping together the information that came before them.
Nobody has the full picture, but everyone thinks they does.
Anyone who actually knows their shit isn't going to give out their secrets for free.
That's why all GL tutorials are terrible, and even the officially sanctioned khronos group red and blue OpenGL books.
>>58843517
That's why I'm trying to make my WebGL engine as pure and simple as possible.
The problem is, it's nearly impossible to find information on how to create a transformation matrix with no libraries, and only one matrix going into the vertex shader.
I made an attempt, but although it works fine orthographically and looks mostly right as perspective it has two problems: things layer incorrectly, and vertices can do unexpected things as they pass offscreen.
It's frustrating, because I'd pretty much be able to declare the renderer "done" if I could just fix those tiny issues.
The job market in IT is good right now. If you're a good software developer, you're set for life.
Everyone said that cheap Pajeet will ruin the job market, but it didn't happen to the extent one would expect. Since then, the wages in India and similar countries have risen a lot, so outsourcing becomes increasingly less likely.
What could kill the job market though is: normies. Normies realizing that programming is a great career, and that it's actually easy (far easier than STEM). I fear that everyone will begin to do it, since their jobs are replaced by the very same software.
>>58843389
>for life
how can you know this? are you so obese you will inevitably die in the next couple years?
if what you say is true, then you can expect a more competitive IT job market in the near future
if you wanted a job market where normal people can't compete with you, you should have studied harder.

All I want to do is create a quick backup of two different systems to an external drive. One running Debian and another running Windows 7.
I see ways online telling me to either use dd to clone everything over and another giving options of creating a disc image.
Which one is more reliable? Should I backup Windows differently or will it matter?
dd is a low level copy utility
you can create a bit-exact filesystem image with dd, which is probably what you want.
It will work with any OS so long as you have enough space to receive the disk image during the restore.
Backing up the linux part is almost easy: fsarchiver will save it to a file on the external drive. Backing up win7 is tougher. I use ntfsclone, but it is not exactly flexible nor intuitive.
>>58843410
Problem with dd is the partition you restore to has to be the exact same size as the original.
>>58843360
tar is the classic solution for *nix backups of you can be arsed to learn how to use it. There are several task oriented utilities in the repository as well.
What went wrong.
That looks awesome; I want one.
That looks ridiculous; I don't want one.
That looks boring; I am neutral.
