Is there a computer with no binary blobs like the one pictured here?
>>58903664
I don't think you know a binary blob if it lurched out of the long grass and took your leg off.
>>58903664
The Novena. It's a lot faster than the beaglebone black.
>>58903664
That one you posted actually has blobs in the graphics accelerator, so you're screwed at any rate if you want to run xorg (console is fine). Take a look at its successor by the way:
beagleboard.org/x15 pic related. I imagine you could make a sweet ass laptop with the little fucker.
My advice is to buy a pre-2008 thinkpad listed as compatible on libreboot.org (now TrannyBoot) and flash the bios using the BBB.
Or even better: get an Asus C201 Chromebook and flash ShemaleBoot on it. It has an ARM chip so the instruction set is in the circuitry rather than somewhere in memory. That's the ultimate Free(tm) experience you can get in 2017 AFAIK.

What OS is the 4chan web server running on?
Your mother

Should add a mechanical keyboard for /g/ on that image.
FreeBSD IIRC. It probably hasn't changed.
Shortwave radio thread. Describe your setup and antenna builds.
>>58903547
magnetic loop I see, did you built it yourself? My brother built one of a old bicycle wheel.
>>58903547
I have this old 12V portable tv that has no coax rf input, only an aerial.
Can I hook it up to analog cable somehow? Some transformer to adapt the impedance or something?
>>58903871
No, that's an image grabbed from Google image. I'm new to the hobby and looking for ideas on increased reception. I need to get up to par on antenna theory. I think my first project will be a simple dipole along the property line by the trees (I habe waifu that doesn't dig random wires stretched everywhere). I have been looking at loop antennas but need to know more. A bicycle rim does sound but I've and frugal and available. Does he like it's performance?

Do you also use Gentoo?

Meaning your operating system can't hot swap between keyboards let alone change the layout with a shortcut? That stinks I guess.

>All your applications crash because their layout is defined with ints
Will there be a 64k monitor bug, /g/?

Hey guys this is Austin! Today we are going to be browsing several technology forums aimed towards people like you and me. So first we are going to start with 4chan's /g/ board, 4chan is an anonymous image board where people are free to post most things within reason. So now let's just make a thread here...
>>58903302
GC got the best controller for N toys. Since then their ergonomy is pathetic.

Faggot go back to /v/
I used to think he was guy but in reality he's just insufferable. He gives me a douchebag vibe.
Tell me /g/, Kodi or Plex?
>Kodi
Add-ons, illegal streams, free, psuedotv live open source, finicky as fuck
>Plex
Free, no real addons, no open source, it just fucking works
>>58903213
Kodi as frontend connected to a Plex library, dipshit. How the fuck else would you use Plex. I have never seen a dumber shitpost than this before. Congratulations.
>>58903213
>kodi
is a player
>plex
is a server
and how are we supposed to compare these?
>>58903213
You realize Kodi and Plex are not comparable, right? One is a media player. The other is a media streaming server. You still need a media player to watch videos being streamed from Plex. I use Kodi for that purpose.
Truly the most innovative browser these days
Why are you not using it?
>>58903209
But i do.
The font bug in the Linux version is annoying af, won't use it until they fix it
>>58903566
I didn't notice anything wrong with fonts so far. Is it some real issue?
>tfw SSD are getting more expensive instead of cheaper
I should have bought one last year, fuck.
>>58903208
New ones are getting cheaper for what they are.

My sides
Im looking to purchase a laptop between $380-500. Im not planning on playing games (i would rather build a pc for that), only using it for school work, rosetta stone and movies. Something portable and mobile. What is a good brand to go with? Im considering Acer, Asus or Lenovo.
>rosetta stone
You ain't gonna learn Jap you weeb.
>>58903206
Mandarin, im already knowledgeable from using Pimsleur and other sources, Rosetta Stone is just something on the side for getting better at knowing objects

Is there any software capable of:
> Rate my music and store the data in a database
> Rate my videos and store the data in a database
I think the closest is Miro, but that is abandonware now.

>>58903054
Rhythmbox? Which platform? IIRC, there's iTunes for Windows.
>>58904431

Why aren't there any high performance desktop ARM CPUs? It seems like they have been shitting on x86 in most of the important categories such as efficiency, price, and heat. How would a theoretical high performance desktop chip perform?
>>58902891
The market is already saturated. There is not enough desktop and enterprise support for ARM architecture for it to be viable, yet.
>>58902891
>It seems like they have been shitting on x86 in most of the important categories such as efficiency, price, and heat
The ISA makes no difference in efficiency and heat, it's just that ARM designs have always targeted those areas over performance and x86 has always been for performance.
>>58903334
>x86 has always been for performance
What about the Atoms and Core M?
