Which manufacturer makes the most reliable flash USB drives?
I've recently put together an EmuPC using Lakka and the USB sticks I'm running the OS and my games off are cheap shitty "5 for fuck all" type drives.
I'm leaning towards Sandisk, the Sandisk SSD in my comp hasn't failed with every day use in the last 5 years so that a plus from me.
PS: Of course I have the my ROM database backed up.
>>58912756
The current brand of USB's im using is Emtec. Anyone ever heard of them?
>>58912756
I have that stick actually. I dunno what to say other than it works.

i have a SanDisk for 7 years now 8 GB it served me for hours on end
im actually fucking impressed that its still working
i used it EXTENSIVELY in my tv for watching movies ... sometimes it was on randomly for a day or two
i also forgot that i had it plugged into my pc and i was too lazy to get it out
now its in my car and it survives ice cold weather somehow ...
if it doesnt break this year i might give it away to some museum
What went wrong, /g/?

>be Sony
>bundle rootkit malware on paying customers CD music albums
>work with antisemite Zeth Rogen
>create all female GhostBusters reboot
>get hacked by a bunch of 14 year olds
>sell advertisement spots in movies to third party companies
you tell me
Nothing, they make the best videogames consoles.

japan is inferior and too slow to adapt to any changes
china just fucks them over heavily cause they dont give a fuck about IP so any R&D from Japan lands in China faster than IP from the US
no point for sony to do any R&D anymore tbqh
China is the best country for tech the world has ever seen and it will stay that way for the next 2 or 3 decades possibly over our life times
Challenge: decrypt the message in the blue banners.
How?
The string probably has error-checking/correction within it so you don't need the blocked out bits.

I don't know what to do anymore:
>get new monitor speakers and USB DAC
>getting incredibly noisy whine when keyboard leds are on
>turn them off
>get noise when mouse cursor is moving
>try with another mouse
>still getting it, different frequency and pitch but there's noise when the cursor moves even in UEFI
>try my luck my luck with my thinkpad
>doesn't happen with USB DAC
>can still hear that shit through the thinkpad's own speakers
>plug corsair mouse out
>noise doesn't happen
There's something fundmanentally wrong here. I've tried replacing the motherboard with another, but it doesn't help (had a good one stored), I've taken the GPU in and out, I've taken out all HDDs, basically I'm running the mobo, cpu and PSU combo.
Could it be the PSU? I'm literally tired of this shit...
I wish I had an optical out connector so I could test whether that helps anything. I coud maybe buy one with a toslink connector and plug it to my old speakers, Klipsch R-15PM. It has a USB dac but it didn't react to this noise problem. I wonder why everything else does? I've tried with a lot of dacs by now, only the klipsch works.

Which browser is the best between iridium browser and ungoogled chromium? It looks like there isn-t many differences

Ungoogled chromium. It's patched on top of Iridium.
What's wrong with just chromium?

Which one of these USB sticks would be the best investment? I want it lost last a long time, thats all i want really. Please help me. i want either 1 or 2, but i think they will overheat fast. Thougts?

on amazon i know number 3 is one of the most purchased/top rated flash drives atm. can't go wrong with the general consensus, i actually have the 64gb version on order, it was 20 bucks and i was drunk. i really have no use for 64 gbs of storage or a 3.0 flash drive
>>58912127
This one, especially since USB C gets adopted fairly quickly, this one should be able to still be used in a couple of years. It also has a type A connector.
>>58912127
I have the frist one but I only use it with usb2.0, so I don't have any heat issues.

We had also Australis where features have been outsourced for luring over Chrome users
We had Webextensions announced with the goal to lure over Chrome users
We had XUL removal announced with the goal to lure over Chrome users
Result... Mozilla is more of a Chrome clone than you think. Perhaps they do not use Blink, but they have adopted the mentality of Google and they exchange their target user group for Chrome users.
Disgusting. Seriously disgusting!
I am off to Otter-Browser with QTWebkit NG!
>You can turn off the anonymous data collecting of Firefox Focus by tapping on the settings icon, and flipping the switch next to "send anonymous usage data" to off.
Wow, it's fucking nothing!
As an idea why not make a unique browser to try and attract your competitors user base. Why would they move from what they already use if you try to clone it?

What's the big deal about UEFI? Does it make any difference when Im about to dualboot?
I use superior bios on my desktop but my laptop came with the UEFI meme
My shit HP laptop came with shit UEFI firmware which prevents me to dualboot properly. Even if I configure GRUB properly it'll ignore its EFI file and boot into Windows. The only way for me to boot into GRUB is by going to the boot menu by spamming F9 at boot which is fucking annoying. Apparently it's a known issue and it's unfixable. It's just hardcoded to boot into Windows no matter what.
To answer your question, UEFI has some good stuff but also allows for retarded shit like this to happen.

What model is that?
I have a problem with collision detection between 2 objects.
I'm creating a GoogleVr zombie shooting game. When a zombie enter the red area, the game should be game over.
I've created following script on the red area object.using UnityEngine;.
using System.Collections;
public class YouLoseIfEnemyHitsThis : MonoBehaviour
{
void OnTriggerEnter(Collider col)
{
if(col.gameObject.name == "zombie")
{
Debug.Log("Game is over. I am showing the VR Canvas");
}
if (col.gameObject.name == "Zombie")
{
Debug.Log("Game is over. I am showing the VR Canvas");
}
if (col.gameObject.name == "enemy")
{
Debug.Log("Game is over. I am showing the VR Canvas");
if (col.gameObject.name == "Enemy")
{
Debug.Log("Game is over. I am showing the VR Canvas");
}
}
}
private void OnCollisionEnter(Collision collision)
{
print(collision.collider.name);
if (collision.collider.name == "zombie")
{
print("APESHIT!");
}
if (collision.collider.name == "Zombie")
{
print("APESHIT!");
}
}
}
Can someone help me out? i've tried everything.

Okay thanks anon
ajax noob here
I have a web page which cycles through images and I want it to go to the next one when you press the next arrow - how do I handle showing new images if someone uploads an image while the user is already on the page?
>home.php shows an image
>press button for next image
>someone else uploads an image
>how to include new pic in the flow
One option would be to consistently poll the backend for a list of the images stored in there. If there's a timestamp attached to each image, it'll be quite easy to see if more images can be shown.
Second option that comes to mind would be to utilise web sockets. Send the information of the new image to all the clients.
Or then you could implement it so that each time you press the arrow, it fetches a list of the images and then loads the image following what's currently being shown.
Many options, each of them is useful in their own way, largely depending on your use-case.
and what's the best way to let a user cycle through the content when new content is added constantly?
say they start at post 4 then go to 3, 2, 1, then a post 6 and five is added
it seems a bit resource intensive to have a cookie remember which ones they've seen
-
equally it will get annoying if they veiw all of the content in the same order (most recent to oldest), they might see content many times but next veiw the oldest content
>>58911723
thanks for the reply
yes they all have upload date/time stamps recorded on an SQL database
I can see how it would be easy to show them all the pics in descending order then show the ones since they logged on in ascending but it will be for regular users who will check back for not just new but all UNSEEN images
I want it to show all unseen images before cycling through old ones - a bit like tinder except when you're done it lets you see old ones again
I get a MemoryError and I dont know what it means. helpdef primes(n):

Just bought Asus router for my parents, then came to realise the cable coming from wall is telephone plug type and the socket in router is for larger cat5 cable.
I nearly feel stupid for asking, but can I just use some adapter thingy or do I actually need a modem do go inbetweeb wall and the router?
those are mini cat5.
cat5 plugs are backwards compatible to mini cat5, you just have to push a little
>>58911557
You need a modem if that router is not also a modem.
