Why don't GNOME and KDE combine to make the ultimate DE for Linux? Is the CIA stopping them from doing it?

I've had nothing but trouble from traditional filesystems.
>NTUSER.DAT becomes corrupt, user can't login.
>Metadata butchered, cannot delete or replace the file
>No SMART errors
>Have to reinstall
>User complains their rar file is stuck when opening.
>Try to move it on a liveCD

>SMART is okay
>User lets some shitware whack their MTF
>Two HDDs fail simultaneously, running BTRFS in my laptop and I just resilver and keep going
Why the hell did microsoft pull ReFS support from pro licenses? Even apple is biting the checksums meme.
GoPro Hero 5 question: What is the best FOV for shooting homemade porn? 4K Ultra HD widescreen seems good for fly-on-wall but not good for Gonzo. Thoughts?

Is there any reason to learn Perl if you know Python?
Anyone?
I'm interested in Perl because it looks like a fun language, but I'm thinking it'll be a waste of time since I know Python, and Python is extremely useful for the field I'm heading towards (ML) while Perl, not so much.

Try again sweaty.
is this really necessary right now?
More attention from this thread seems really necessary

more devs need to give this option
This thread is about the appreciation of horology, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.

is there an equivalent of google docs for calendars? ie, a calendar that can be edited by anyone with a link?
as far as i can tell, google calendars only lets people with google accounts that you've shared the calendar with edit it.
Is it time for email technology to be replaced with a newer and more secure standard?
>>62170894
Any such standard would be backdoored. GPG already exists, you only have to get people to use it.

Good luck with that.
Back in the days when Star Citizen was just kickstarted (without all that RSI additional crowd funding BS), according to Chris Roberts himself you'd need at least two GTX 480s, at least 8GB of 1333MHz DDR3, and at least an i7 2600K, to run it absolutely smoothly in 2560x1440 with constant 60 FPS.
Times have changed drastically since then, so...predict in this thread what combination of hardware (video + speed/type/amount of RAM + processor) you would need to run this thing smoothly within at least 60 FPS while maxed out in 2560x1440 (as a bonus - maybe also 4K) when it finally goes 100% gold.
I think that RyZen 1700X/Threadripper 1920 will be already enough on the processor side, but regarding video - there's simply no such card out there yet. As for RAM - I honestly assume that 16GB of single-ranked DDR4 with speeds of 3200MHz will be more than enough. But again, that's all maxed out in at least 2560x1440 and when it's in the full complete state.
P.S. Usage of Vulkan is highly assumed.
