Could AMD just make a CPU that works on Intel motherboards?
>>58997932
If only Intel told them how their mobos work.
>>58997951
Tell that to Cyrex
>>58997932
That's how they started their business. THey originally just produced Intel designed CPUs.
The AM486 DX-00 series was the first line of CPU's that AMD released that was actually developed by AMD in house, but still ran on Intel's chipset and socket.
The AMD K6 was the first line of processors built by AMD to run on an AMD designed chipset. By now there is too much disparity between the two companies for AMD to make an Intel socket compatible product.
>not running BusyBox/Linux
>>58997842
I remember having to recompile busybox for my HTC Doubleshot a few years back because the ROM "Developer" included a copy that had an 'ip' command that didn't work and it somehow broke MMS.
Shit sucked.
>copyrighted
Copyright is not a verb. You do not copyright something. You are automatically given a copyright on creation of a work. It's redundant.

Let's do this more often, these threads are comfy as fuck
First MP3 player I had. Got it in 2006, but fairly sure it was was a bit older, as it was only $40 at the time.

Hi /G/, I'm learning to code and it's a lot of fun. Someday I hope to be a great programmer, but I'm sure that's very far out. I heard someone say they can tell a lot about a person by the code that they right, is that true? This is my hello world program, can someone tell me if it is good? Thanks and have a good day.#include <stdio.h>
#include <string.h>
static char string[] = "Hello World!";
int main (void) {
int ch;
FILE *buffer;
buffer = fmemopen (string, strlen (string), "r");
while ((ch = fgetc (buffer)) != EOF)
printf ("%c", ch);
fclose (buffer);
return(0);
}

You're an over-complicated man.

You're not good at English either.

what does /g/ think of this new beauty? I think it's beautiful for a couple reasons:
no force static types
able to easily call C code using crystal bindings
a ruby/python/php syntax (...)

redundant

in what way?

You're a fucking pajeet and your opinion doesn't matter

Hey /g/uys. I'm not exactly a tech guy, and I've been thinking of getting an upgrade. (My specs would probably make you guys cringe.) I don't have much money, so I figured a graphics card would be the cheapest option (unless there's something cheaper, preferably an upgrade to my cpu which I might pay more for. I might buy a better fan but I don't think I'll need a recommendation until then.)
My price range is about <250 (Preferably around 200, but if there's a REALLY good one for a little more I can gladly pay.)
Danke schoen.
>>58997107
you're better off asking places like pcpartpicker desu, especially if you make it this painfully obvious you're new (noit a bad thing but retards on here treat it like so)
also, install gentoo.
>>58997126
Thanks, anon. I'll have a look.

What's the best way to learn this?
I went to my local library and borrowed the Linux shell script Bible
>>58996918
Another "Bible" for GNU/Linux...
>>58996853
Code Academy has a pretty good crash course on the basics.
Is there anything stopping an AMD CPU from communicating with an Intel CPU?
Let's say that hypothetically a dual CPU socket motherboard existed that accepted both brands on a third party chipset, would it work?
>>58996461
drivers
It would open a portal which would most likely require a fourth-party chipset.
>>58996461
only one way to find out
Does that include WYSIWYG word processing software that put all those typesetters out of work? Bill, you owe some back taxes.

the word processing software isn't automated
robots would be automated

Checked the archive and it seems this thread hasn't popped up in a bit. Let's talk a bit of cyberpunk tonight, /g/.

I'm building the links list off of what I've encountered so far, if somebody wants to confirm services from old OP posts are still active or wants to add new links please post them and I'll try to include them in the next OP.
Looking at the way things are headed with the FCC and the new corporate carte blanche, there's a lot of things to talk about. Censorship, centralization, and collusion have all come into play over the past couple of months. Stay wary.
Seems like we got all the shitty parts of a cyberpunk world.
>>58996475
Yep
near police state but with no cool cybernetics and shit
>>58996475
The "good parts" of a cyberpunk world were and will always be reserved for the hyper wealthy. We're just at the periphery of things watching how that growth in wealth disparity plays out and shapes the culture.
Future funk aesthetic is closer to the glitz and glamour of the neon-lit lifestyle that cyberpunk seems to imply about the lifestyles of those who "make it".
