>nintendo v& the person who uploaded the switch UI/unboxing video
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=230564451&postcount=1928
How did they catch him so quickly? Either Vid.me or Neogaf coughed up his IP, then his ISP quickly gave up his information. Nintendo agents show at his door and take his rightful Switch.
How could he have prevented this?
Did nintendo seriously send cops to his house to confiscate his toy gaming console?
What the fuck?

Did you think Nintendo were a bunch of good guys?
The day will come when I bring down Microsoft and my, oh my, will it be sweet!

Do you think it's good for a programmer to learn russian? If so, why?
Most russians that learn English and programming do so to have a better chance to escape their hellhole country, almost exactly like indians. Take a hint from that.
Most people learn english so they can learn programming because technical terms are so poorly expressed in other languages.
Don't even try to read documentation in other languages, it's pure shit.

Telegram ended up in Germany though.

This. Also every documentation is available in english.
So I've always been interested in close to the metal game engines and I wanna develop a simple platformer.
I was thinking of doing it for the Amiga 500 as it was the first home computer we had, and it's still running fine.
How easy is it to get into it? Ideally I want to develop on my laptop and run it there, but also just copy it to floppy and run it on the real machine.
I've learned some MMIX assembly in a comp science class, and I think I'd be comfortable to develop a simple game in it.
Is it a horrible idea? Should I use another platform, or should I use C instead?
Please post any resources you might have. Also any vintage hardware related stuff I guess

>I was thinking of doing it for the Amiga 500 as it was the first home computer we had, and it's still running fine.
Amiga or C64 is an excellent choice. In a very short time (we're talking weeks) you can learn how THE WHOLE SYSTEM works. That's fucking amazing IMO.
Modern game dev is next to impossible to learn from metal to top stacks in a year or two. There's just too much shit.
Best of luck OP.

The Art Of Computer Programming books are all done in MIX/MMIX and you could easily use them to write advanced game algorithms on an Amiga500 if you so wanted.
Don't be intimidated by all the math in the first volume (and vol4b) you really only need Grade 12 Pre-Calculus to understand what's happening, or basic exposure to applied single variable calc class where they explain limits. Knuth will teach you everything else and you can also just skip the math if you wanted and directly try the algorithms.
If you're broke download the pdf (all other electronic versions are garbage, esp the kindle versions) on libgen.io but I highly recommend buying the books they're the best quality books you will ever find.
Hey, /g/.
Is this event worth paying $400 for? I'm interested but the price is a bit steep.

What a fucking scam.
>>59005329
No, these are all industry type courses that usually your employer pays for which is why they exist. In the next post I'll drop all the free shit you can do just to get into the 'industry'
>>59005329
Get the following books:
- Tangled Web: Browser Security
- Web Application Hacker's Handbook
- Greyhat Python.
You do those books, not just read them. Greyhat python is in there because it teaches you to build your own security tools which is what you want to learn, running test suites on applications which is how you get jobs.
Then you try shit like memorycorruption CTF style like games, or the cryptopals crypto challenges.
Now you go apply as a Junior analyst somewhere at NCC Group or the dozens of other companies. They then pay to train you.
There's also this free list of lectures:
http://howto.hackallthethings.com/2016/07/learning-exploitation-with-offensive.html
After you have worked for a few years as a Jr to intermediate consultant somewhere at a well established security corp you can break out on your own as a Senior consultant, and make the real money, give presentations at Blackhat or wherever ect.
Besides OOP what other forms of program organization are there?
anyone?

How does it help to organize my program?
Just give a few good arguments why Win-fags hating on Apple different than: I'm 10-20+ years experienced with the OS.
I went from Apple to WIN (Lenovo) for the last 7 months and that was the most retarded choice I could ever imagine.
> Basically the whole user experience of 7,8,10 is level dad-core-wooly-socks for basement faggots and office robots.
> My productivity and overal browsing lowered by 200%.
> Archiving and the structure of finder etc etc is just in a way of respect from developer to user almost to the lvl insulting against your platform users. Really.
> Ignoring bing sounds like you bought a computer in the year 2001.
> Structure of menu's troubleshooting settings etc etc (Main structure) purely thought from the developer lvl: die and rot in hell to the user and at the end costumer of your Windows runned computer.
> I can go on for three days about the user experience. I leave it with the conclusion: DadCore-OS.
> At the other hand, besides the obnoxious Apple fags and ignoring presentation like every product is another moonlanding, apple is extremely smooth. Lets keep it with that.
> How do you hate Mac OSX ?/Apple.
> Also: bet many haters even posses an Apple smartphone. (More than Mac OSX fags with some crappy Windows phone).
>>59005200
I agree with you completely.
Between Mac and Windows I would always choose Mac. The OS it beyond anything I could ever come across in Windows, and the build quality in these devices are god-tier.
However you have to remember something, anon. That is the pricing and games, which is why people don't have macs.
Apple wants to sell their products at a premium, and that is understandable, however raising their prices after every generation doesn't make it any easier to justify buying a new computer from Apple. That is why most Apple users are looking into getting a Thinkpad or Dell XPS.
>>59005305
I agree from that pov. Gaming sucks which was one of the reasons to buy me a 350,- Lenovo X201t. However the user experience is terrible. My Imac was declared "vintage" which means that the apple store will not even give it value or repair it if something is broke. The whole Apple cartel is corrupt as-f and they expect users to re-buy another laptop within 3-5 years, I just ignore that. My 2012 Imac still works flawless.
>>59005200
Their kernel is retarded with anything they don't sell. Using a controller is a nightmare. I wish they officially supported Brew. Their scaling algo sucks too, fucking performances drop when using the dock's grid widget and X11 apps (it seems like their X11 implementation isn't gpu accelerated when ran alongside their own server). Developing is okay on the thing, but I don't code in Objective-C, which to me is retarded, so no reason to use XCode. I wish it wasn't so bloated with their software so I could have the thing for less $.

Why did Gateway fail so hard?
Back in the olden days they made one of the coolest laptops ever.
They've been shit since about 2000.
Also in those days your Gateway Handbook could ran on any old AA batteries for hours and hours. Other computers like the HP Omnibooks could too. Why can't we have nice things any more?

>Wake up from a coma
>Nintendo power has been discountinued
All I wanted to do was catch up on what was going on with the N64 and the world is totally different. Hold me.
I just found this picture on another chan. Apparently a lot has happened.
Can someone give me a rundown on where tech is now in 2017?
why do people make these stupid threads
nobody believes you were in jail for 10 years or came out for a 10 year coma or whatever.

Pick a fucking timeframe to bait us with, you mong. You could've at least gotten away with GC.
>look guise bendable screens! xD
OLED still suffers from burn-in, it's still expensive as all hell and the input lag is mediocre at best (outright terrible with HDR active) but somehow LG figured the future of OLED is in ultra-thinness.
I blame Apple for this shit.
>>59004898
And even if they didn't suck, they won't withstand very many bend-unbend cycles because of metal fatigue
>>59004898
I guess it's the easy "wow factor" to make people buy into it faster, and then realise that it's pointless unless it can actually fold or roll up and the screen quality is shit anyway.
The ultra-thinness cancer has been going for long time, instead of actually "wasting" a lot of time to improve the quality, we get "look ma, (almost) no bezel!" or "check this, it's slightly curved" and obviously the "we made it even thinner so you can save approximately 8 square inches on your TV stand or similarly pointless amount of "airspace" on one of your walls". Gee industry, you sure are working hard to make me want to shell out those dollars to make a swap every 2 years or whatever is the optimal adoption rate you are going for there.
Can't wait when they try to meme up the wireless power solutions as the next big thing, if it happens, only for the buyers to realise there wasn't all that many occasions where it actually has any practical use and wastes a lot more power doing nothing.
>>59005497
>Screen quality is shit
