Ryzen is not enthusiast, its just a really badass mainstream CPU. If you think 8-cores don't belong in the mainstream your the problem.
Wow, AMD's CEO looks like THAT?

Why haven't you installed KDE Neon yet?
Because XFCE exists.
>>59061905
because gentoo exists
1. Is it as user friendly as Kubuntu?
2. Is it lighter than Kubuntu?
3. Can it be used as a stable OS?

Why is the C++ ecosystem so hard to work with? No other language forces me to do 17 hour builds to make the simplest possible GUI app and bundle it into an executable. Even Haskell with GTK bindings is better at this.
qt is one of the largest projects built with c++
>>59061763
You're just not good enough. If you think other languages are easier, feel free to use them.
You should use rust for this, it's memory safe.
Thoughts on Google's latest open source project: upspin?
>Upspin is an experimental project to build a framework for naming and sharing files and other data securely, uniformly, and globally: a global name system of sorts.

Write a program that generates directory tree in console.
Bonus points for ascii tree design.

10xx series is pretty damn useless if you are not aiming on 4k.
I'd wait for the new Nvidia gen with my 980, most of the games are running just fine at 60 fps with ~high settings.

The Trump Organization

Ok /g/, I'm bored, so I wanna give you guys a challenge. I want you to come up with the most expensive PC build that you possibly can. Winner gets the satisfaction of being better than everyone else and maybe a dick pic.
>Rules:
1) Your build needs to be functional in a hypothetical situation where you're rich enough and retarded enough to purchase it. Basically, try to make sure it could be suitable for home use by some rich piece of shit with too much time and money on their hands.
2) List the cost of each part and where you got it from so we can easily verify that you aren't cheating.
2a)It must be possible to actually purchase any of the components in your build online
2b) Please use Amerifat sites and USD for the sake of simplicity
2c) If you cheat somehow, I'll start a petition to have gook moot permaban you, you cocklicking titfucker.
3) You are allowed to factor in the price of VESA mounts, cables, etc. that are required for your build.
4) Remember, we're going for cost, not performance. The PC just has to function properly. In other words, this is about who can come up with the most expensive build that just werks™, not about whose build performs the best AND is the most expensive.
5) I may make up extra rules at my own discretion as we go along. Fuck you. (I probably won't.)

Can I wrap three kilometres of audiophile-grade stereo wire per each channel of a 7.1 layout around a solid block of hand-polished ferrite?
What about a bunch of kilo gold ingots on a mesh garden table for a desk?
>>59070525
Why the FUCK audiphiles still use analog transmission? Use digital transmission and put the fucking DAC on the fucking speaker

who uses cinebench though besides video people who can pay for the best workstations
>>59070190
>>59070213
This. Cinebench relies heavily in multithreading. And those who need multithreading aren't getting AMDs, they are getting high end Xeons.
>>59070259
They'll be getting 32 core 64 thread AMD later this year.

Why do you always create shitposting threads with the same fucking images? Are you alright?
I mostly use my PC for Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro work.
My cousin wants to buy my PC and I can sell it for a good price. Only $300 less than what I built it for over a year ago.
I want to build a system around the Ryzen 1800x with water cooling so I can overclock.
How many days should I wait until I can see some reliable benchmarks for AE and Premiere Pro? Most benchmarks are for games and I don't care about gaming.
btw my aim is to build a very quiet system as I live in a house in the middle of an island where there is no sound but the birds and the wind. If you have any advice, it would be highly appreciated.
bumping
The high end Ryzen processors are showing in professional benchmarks (cinnebench, passmark shit) to be extremely high performers, hitting above 5ghz, i think one of the other threads on here is talking about a record breaking cinnebench score
Id say wait a week or two for more consumer reviews, more benchmarks, just to make sure.
For quietness, invest in a good noise reducing case, no window, minimal venting except for fan vents. BeQuiet is a bit more than just a meme, their cases are extremely good at noise reduction and come with fantastic fans. Though more of their silentwings fans wouldnt hurt
Pump noise may be an issue with water cooling, though it may be required with a high overclock, i suggest a quality AIO with some nice fans in that scenario.
A full custom loop may be better because you can isolate and dampen the pump noise in a case basement, and then youre just left with 2-6 fans on a radiator, but then you also may have to incorporate a second rad for the gpu, or just use an AIO cooled gpu instead
Another option for noise reduction is a big block case with fucking huge fans, 200mm fans push a lot of air and are near silent
I admire quiet builds, i use to have a silverstone sg 11b with easily 6 fans inside it, 6 hard drives, r9 280x, bitch vibrated like a playboy bunny's dresser drawer
sounded like a jet turbine
>how many days do i wait until i see benchmarks relevant to what i do
you wait until you see those benchmarks
wtf kind of question is this
Hi guys
I'm looking for a drawing tablet that's pretty cheap and has pretty good quality.
I can pay up to 70$

Fills a niche that doesn't exist at the expense of being shit as a laptop or a tablet.
