Anon here that hasnt looked into laptops in 6-7 years thinking of buying a new one. I want one that can game on moderate to high settings. Nothing super great. I hate windows 10 but if I have to have it then so be it. And I would prefer to spend under 1k. Is it possible to do this?

lol
Also, just go to any fucking site that sell laptops, filter by discrete GPU and $1000 price, get the one with better GPU.
Was that so hard?
>>59101144
Wait so GPU is what I really want in a laptop? Never really shopped for them is all
Stop falling into the meme. A good phone and a good Desktop is all people need. Even the tablet meme is dead.

Most comfy programming language. Not very good to learn because it's easy to get hired and better paid than many other programming jobs so there is little incentive to learn other languages. Especially since everything else is harder to read, more verbose and more time consuming to learn and use as well as pay worse. Best to avoid Python and work your way up slowly using other languages.
>>59100620
I don't really see the point of Python. I've used it professionally and the only justification I've ever seen for its existence is some cult logic bullshit about 'conciseness', 'coding pythonically' (?!?!???), and 'muh batteries included' (gee thanks like it is so hard to download a fucking library)

he thought mumbo jumbo nu male memes can cure his cancer and he put himself into the hand of commiefornia voodoo medicine men instead of relying on good old hands on proven(tm) to work(tm) approaches
what did he mean by that?

/g what should i do? replace my intel 6800k build with a ryzen 1800x or buy a nintendo switch? this is a hard choice.
i've been wanting to go back to amd since the athlon 64 days but the switch looks like a nice tablet replacement for my aging nexus 7. and with the new pokmeon moon / sun being ported over this year that makes it even more enticing.
would the 1800x be worth it more?
>>59099187
The marginal value of replacing a decent processor with another decent processor doesn't seem like that big of a jump compared to not having a switch and having one.

How do I increase my chances of winning an eBay auction?
>dont bid until 3 seconds left
>bid your absolute maximum but round up to the nearest $6.78
>rinse and repeat until you get what you want
I've been pretty succesful on eBay. I've found that to increase my chances of winning all I have to do is be willing to pay more than the next guy. Example: Was trying to win an Xbox One S. The highest bid was 150. so I bid $600. I ended up winning the Xbox One s at $543. so I didn't even spend what I was willing to.

a couple of compilers and a pretty fully fleshed out kernel.
Scada system for a factory. It had 8 PLCs connected through Modbus TCP.

will take into consideration with my upcoming purchase, thanks Anonymous =)
I have an extremely underpowered and slow laptop with an AMD E240 processor. should I buy a used IBM T60 with a T2400 to replace it?

Why does retrofuture technology look so comfy?
>>59097646
Because you're autistic.
>>59097646
Because it allows you to escape reality, where computer technology is taking over everything, and humans are becoming deprecated.

We don't know how well Ryzen will overclock yet. If the quad or six-core processors can hit 4.2-4.6GHz they'll keep up with Baby Lake. If not Ryzen might be a workstation chip.
>>59097469
Then why is a 5Ghz fx-9590 performing like a 3.4Ghz core i7 in your little unnamed benchmark? For many DX11 games or serial processing tasks in general performance is dictated by BOTH clock for clock efficiency and overall clock-speed.

In the previous thread I mentioned how expensive genuine replacement earpads for HD600 are... well, I just bought $8 paid from china. Well, I just spent 30 min going through every ebay listing for earpads and noticed that they're all pretty much the same. Same pics, same descriptions... just the prices are different. I think they're all buying from the same factory/manufacturer in china. Anyway, I bought the cheapest pair.
Has anyone bough these chink replacement earpads? How did they work out?
