Am I the only one here who thinks touch screen laptops are a gimmick?
>>59105845
There's also a complete laptop attached to that touchscreen in case you missed that bit
>>59105884
unless you are an old boomer that wants to sift through facebook posts of their finger about how Trump is evil. Why would you need a touchscreen?
>>59105845
In this case with a limited hinge I think it's a gimmick, my touchscreen laptop gets no use except for touching the very corners (like desktop, start, or close), but being a full 2-in-1 laptop/tablet able to go into a portrait mode like >>59105884 it's less of a gimmick
I have both a fixed hinge touchscreen laptop and a 2-in-1 that does the foldy thing, I rarely use the touchscreen but i use it more on the 360° hinge

Nah senpai.
Do other GNU/Linux distributions have any advantages over Linux Mint?
their downloads don't get contaminated and hacked
Linux Mint is literally Ubuntu with a Windows wannabe UI and some built in software, i don't get the big deal
>>59105279
Suse is by far the best pleb distro. Yast is good and very easy to use
What's the deal with openPEPE?

The mission of /ptg/ is to promote the highest possible standards of tracker shitposting by providing members(gigdy!) with opportunities for getting /marked/ and b& , by recognizing technical competence through examinations and by advancing the "interests" of its members(gigdy!).

Do I need this? Cracked versions aren't working.
Let's have a thread about technology mascots.
Post your favourite mascots, post more pictures of them, if you have them!
This is Tux, Linux mascot
>>59079888
This is Richard Matthew Stallman
/g/-s mascot
This is nameless Windows 10-tan, Japanese mascot of Windows 10
>>59079944
It's Madobe Touko you fucking cuck.
What are you working on, /g/?
Old thread: >>59098871
>spend years evangelizing FP
>convinced myself the stupid endless debates (HURR U SHUD USE THE WORSE VERSION SO BEGINNERS CAN UNDERSTAND IT) will eventually be resolved correctly
>instead things just got worse
I don't want to do this any more. I'm tired. I want to spend time making things, not arguing with people who are butthurt about lenses or monad transformers.
Friendly reminder that malloc() returning null is an unrecoverable error!

what happened?
>>59104460

here's the latest Gmail disaster:
>Court rules search warrant applies to US Gmail emails stored on foreign servers
https://casetext.com/case/in-re-in-re-search-warrant-no-16-1061-m-to-google
Only retards use gmail.
>>59104460
It was the best free email provider of its era. Still is. Unfortunately Hotmail and the like made their money on advertising, and Google just wanted our data.
Then everyone on the planet got online and the vast majority of these retards couldn't give two fucks about privacy. They just want free services. So here we are.
>>59104460
what was up with the outtage yesterday?
When will you "Make-it 486" /g/?
>>59104165

Doesn't happen on my 64 GiB machine, and the one in OP is on LTSB so there shouldn't be much in the way of updates, certainly not 12 GiB worth

Is M.2 cooling a meme? I've heard of some overheating issues but is it really that big of a concern?
>>59103010
for longterm life it might be an issue
I've only heard major issues with the fastest Samsung models though
>>59103010
If you are torrenting, compiling, transcoding then heat might be an issue. Stick a temp sensor on yours and find out.
I saw a review somewhere that said temps went UP after adding a cooler sleeve. I think it was on Toms. This is very true if you are using 2 sticks.
Who remembers these gems?

>If your son has requested a new "processor" from a company called "AMD", this is genuine cause for alarm. AMD is a third-world based company who make inferior, "knock-off" copies of American processor chips. They use child labor extensively in their third world sweatshops, and they deliberately disable the security features that American processor makers, such as Intel, use to prevent hacking. AMD chips are never sold in stores, and you will most likely be told that you have to order them from internet sites. Do not buy this chip! This is one request that you must refuse your son, if you are to have any hope of raising him well.
Looks like your wife's son did not get that ryzen cpu pre-order.
0.05 shekels has been deposited to your Intel shill acount. Thank you for your hardwork!
