Sysadmin/devfag fucked up somewhere!
(If you're reading this, release the source code already!)
Yeah, I thought it was Clover but I had it happen on the browser too.

Are there any reliable gaming benchmarks that pit the Ryzen lineup vs an OCd 7700k?
And somewhat related, how many cores do the AMD console CPUs have and is it a given that future games will be able to take full advantage of 8 cores?
>>59111148
>gaming benchmarks against a 7700k
No, because the 7700k isn't competition, it's $200 cheaper.
>games will be able to take full advantage of 8 cores?
They already do.
And the reliance on more cores will only increase with time and higher resolutions.
This is one of the good effect of consoles on the PC market.
>>59111191
You're just giving opinions while linking a benchmark that has nothing to do with what I asked. Most games today still only use 2-4 threads.
>>59111148
Not ones that are impartial as the majority are from AMD who of course ran tests under their controlled conditions.
Im hoping these cards are as advertised but until independant reviewers have done their tests I would take any you see with a pinch of salt.
Why can't logitech make a mouse with a middle click that works? Also mouse general
I want a wireless mouse that is comfortable and has a working wheel/middle button
the m05, m325, and m705 all fail to meet that standard. Any Suggestions?

Get a G900. They're awesome.
>Total Download Size: 256.71 MiB
>Total Installed Size: 1106.59 MiB
>Net Upgrade Size: 6.75 MiB
Why do I have to download 250MiB so it can only actually install 7MiB?
>>59111055
Package managers do not send deltas of packages (for good reasons). When you upgrade, you download the whole thing again.
>>59111055
It deletes the old version
Because developers don't give a fuck about optimization as long as the fix works.
I quit my cubicle CRUD codemonkey position yesterday to start as junior dev at a video game company for 10K less.
Tell me how bad I fucked up.
Working as a vidya dev can be codemonkeying too. Depends on the company
>giving up a cubicle
Are you retarded?
>>59110960
Don't fuss about the money - What's important is that you enjoy your job (or hate your job less).
The good thing about a vidya company is you can say "I helped make that" while pointing to something that isn't some corporate bean counting system.
But it very much depends on the company and the people you work with.
Why is duckduckgo so shit in finding reaction pics compared to google?

I'm gonna start studying software engineering at university abroad in September, my question is, is there any chance I might get a part-time job at coding while at uni so I can sustain myself? I have been coding for about 3 months now and I still have quite a while till school starts. Is part time coding even a thing? Is my only chance webdevelopment at upwork?
pls answer i don't rly have anyone to ask this from :III
>>59104779
Don't do it school fucking sucks ass when you're working part time. Just go to school full time.
I use a computer for 8+ hrs every day and I've noticed I'm startign to have some pains in my arms. I use my keyboard like in pic related and after some searching, that's apparently bad.
How do I use my keyboard and mouse so I don't feel pain/discomfort?
How's your RSI situation, /g/?
Push your keyboard back a foot, scoot in and rest your elbows on your desk.
Alternatively, find a stray cat and euthanize it, then put it in front of your keyboard and rest your wrists on it. You will have to get a fresh cat every so often as they wear out.
>>59104773
Only 21 and RSI started flaring up a few months ago. Got scared so I got wrist braces and try to always keep my hand and fingers lower than my wrist. Also do wrist strengthening exercises every now and then. It's gotten a lot better now and my next purchase will be a split mechanical keyboard.
Reduce computer sittings to about 45mn
and walk around for a little,
also exercise your hands once in a while
and stand up straight while sitting down.
LOLOLOL Intel just lowered their i7-7700K price to match Ryzen so you can buy from them instead.
https://camelcamelcamel.com/Intel-Desktop-Processor-i7-7700K-BX80677I77700K/product/B01MXSI216?context=browse
Strategic pricing to not give AMD any profit. This battle just got that much more interesting. Intel got money to waste and AMD doesn't. AMD IS KILL!!!
I want the shills to fuck off back to >>>/v/ with their fruity gamer toys and shitposting where they belong
>>59104572
>4c/8t vs 8c/16t for the same price and nearly identical single core performance
Intel needs to drop the price to a little more than half that for it to make sense to anyone looking to buy a new CPU.
>>59104680
>nearly identical single core performance
Ryzen can only reach 5.2ghz on ln2
Meanwhile 7700k can do 5.3 with just water cooling

Why is this the best build tool the C/C++ field can manage? The scripting system sucks, and unless you use Visual Studio the project files it spits out are glorified wrappers around makefiles.
Yet somehow, this thing is still better than everything else out there.
>>59104346
The problem is that nobody has yet realized that you'd want a library DSL instead of a real grammatical DSL, because at the end of the day you'll need that flexibility.
>>59104346
>>59104379
Oh, and if you still want to go for a declarative DSL, there's meson.
