Why does everyone consider the best language that currently exists a meme?
>>59140600
Not used in production.
Language is irrelevant to big businesses, they care about results. Haskell is a poor engineering language, it was built by and for academics.
>>59140600
It's made for and used by smartasses and other compsci PhDs.
>>59140600
Nobody does
it's the child of academia and people use it as a topic to write published articles about basically

Why everything GUI-related is so clunky on Linux?
>screen tearing
>lmao no thumbnails
>firefox smoothscrolling lags/stutters
>random black screen flashes when pop ups appear
>file managers always crashing
When confronted, linux users always spout the same shit
>it werks for me (followed by a single cropped screenshot that literally proves nothing)
>it's your video driver!
No it's not. Installing drivers is simple as typing apt-get/pacman drivername on a terminal, unless you're expecting me to troubleshoot some obscure, hard to find bug that "only happens" with my machine. If you do then you're delusional if you think I'm going to waste my time doing that shit instead of installing a proper OS that works out of the box.
How can you expect me to use Linux as my daily driver/desktop OS if it can't even provide a solid, smooth, fluid experience while browsing the internet/moving files around? At least not without spending a whole day or two tweaking config files and searching for solutions on the internet that may or may not work for you.

No it's not. I don't know why anyone ever expected any less, AMD always fails to deliver.

Intel has absolutely zero intention of releasing a better product.
'Training' best buy employees, bribing OEMs, and paying developers to ignore AMD processors and optimise for intel ones are their first port of call.
And their second.
And third.

Is who wants to be a millionaire just a game of luck?
I mean, there's 33.34% chance of being right unless the person happens to know the right answer, and lifelines can only get you so far into the game.
Let's say there are 15 questions with 4 choices each. Let's also say there are 3 lifelines: call-a-friend, 50-50, and ask-the-audience.
For each of the 15 questions, there is only 1 correct answer, and 3 incorrect answers, so immediately your chances are 1/3 = 33.34%. You can use each lifeline once. Using phone-a-friend, let's say gives you a 95% chance the person you call is correct. So 1 question is 95%. Similarly, we can say ask-the-audience gives you a 95% chance. Finally, 50-50 will remove 2 wrong answers, so you have 1 right answer and 1 wrong answer, so you basically know the answer. To recap:
Question 1: 33.34%
Question 2: 33.34%
Question 3: 33.34%
Question 4: 95% <--- ask-the-audience
Question 5: 33.34%
Question 6: 33.34%
Question 7: 33.34%
Question 8: 33.34%
Question 9: 95% <--- phone-a-friend
Question 10: 33.34%
Question 11: 33.34%
Question 12: 33.34%
Question 13: 33.34%
Question 14: 33.34%
Question 15: 100% <--- 50-50
Total: 690.08%
Divided by 15 questions = 46.00%
So basically, it's more a less a game of chance, but more than half the people on the show will lose, so it's not very fair. That show is making tons of money off of people.

Random chance of getting the n. question right by just guessing:
1. 25%
2. 6.25%
3. 1.56... %
4. 0.39... %
etc.
It's already below 1% at the fourth question.
