What is the most efficient way to keep backups?

I'm using acronis for 5-6 years but I do single version backups (100%) so it take an entire night every time

Incremental backups. Acronis will allow you to do a full single backup, then incremental. (Changes) also, if your dumb ass doesn't have the license for incremental, it's time to hit the torrent sites.

KEK & LOL

ok so i understand the fact that /g/ isnt a great place to have any actual conversations (4chan in general really) but im just curious, assuming you have a 1700x and a 1800x in the exact same build and both running at the same clock speed, they are going to have 98% identical performance correct?

im not sure how i can justify the ~$500 price for the 1800x if clock for clock its the same as the ~$400 1700x.

also how does their xfr thing work? does it have a hard limit for the 1700x and the 1800x has a higher limit? because assuming they are both under the same cooling solution they should hit the same clock speeds right? Honestly unless its really easy to OC to 4.5Ghz i dont think id put a manual overclock any higher then that

1800x will boost to 4.1 thats all you need to know. I'm getting the 1700x that extra $100 for a little bit more is not worth it.

1800X is already sold out so there is no choice.

What does Windows 10 mean by that?

I have OC'ed my 3570k to 4 GHZ but Windows shows me that its running at up to 4.6 GHZ

I have disabled Turbo ... ran Prime95 for 30 mins without any issues and it never really went over 80°C average for all cores

4chan is easy to scrape and full of searchable text. slap some ads on it and you can make some $$$ off people googling "thinkpad meme cuck ryzen shill cuck cuck cuck"

Who would click on it aside from people googling posts from 4chan verbatim and getting curious about whether or not a website is an archive I didn't know about?

Holy shit. I was going to go with a $1500 i7-7700K build, but maybe I wont. I was a loyal Intel Shill since I first bought a PC, but this is the biggest eye-opener I've seen

I'm in the same boat.

I was about to pull the trigger on a 7700k and a build surrounding it, but when I saw what AMD had to offer this morning it completely changed my mind.

I'm not set on ryzen, but once I see user benchmarks i'll make the decision.

If user benchmarks are better than intel i'll definitely be going for the 1800x instead.
>>
>>59074235
I mean, if its marginally better with similar prices, i probably wont buy. But if marginaly better with significantly lower prices, I'm buying
>>
I'm rich guy with intel. But when I saw that power (lol) of AMD -- I'l choose instant. Buy Ryzen.

I just bought one of these. Poked around reviews for a while and people seemed to like the mic.

But it's SO FUCKING QUIET. It's a USB microphone, so I can't use windows to increase the gain. I've tried Peace/Equalizer APO but either I'm doing it wrong or it doesn't work. I'm retarded so it could be me, but are there other options to boost sound with a USB microphone?

What do, /g/?

At what point can one call themselves a "software engineer"? Can a web dev refer to themselves as an "engineer"?

Software "engineer" is such a bullshit title. If real engineers had the same work ethics as software writers, the civilization would collapse. Literally.

I have a question about CPUS

For the purposes of gaming, do we really get that much benefit out of buying the latest at greatest CPU? I'm currently running an i7 860 @ 4ghz. This is now a pretty ancient processor. However, how much better would a new processor, say a mid-range ryzen, run a game if both systems had the same GPUs? Say a GTX 1080. Nobody ever seems to actually benchmark these things, everybody just says "Oh well that CPU is X years old so obviously it'll kill your framerate" and i'm sure it does effect the framerate to a degree, but i'm having a hard time believing the CPU i have currently, which barely hits 70% load in games, is really holding me back that much. (At the moment i've got a GTX770) I'm wondering why i should bother dropping $500-700 on a new CPU/Mobo/Ram setup when i could put that money into a new GPU?

Has anyone actually ever seen benchmarks of something like this?

It depends on what you play, but it can definitely matter, and yes there are benchmarks for it.
>>
>>59073773
That's more a comparison of different current CPUs though, not CPUs from the first few generations of "modern" computers (High power quad cores)
>>
>>59073738
>For the purposes of gaming, do we really get that much benefit out of buying the latest at greatest CPU?

No. You want a mid-range CPU with a couple of really strong cores, since nothing is fucking multithreaded still in fucking 2017.

Most 4k TVs by LG and Samsung seem to have decent latency, LG also advertises IPS on there TVs. Just stay away from all the chink branded shit.
