/g/ I need a home file server for my exFAT external hard drives but I CANNOT re/format them. What bare minimal OS can I install to accomplish this?
bump
Pretty sure most distros will read exFAT
>browse 4chan for a while
>notice the connection was HTTP all along
Why isn't TLS default?

I have a question. I had a Google DNS set on my computer, and was wondering, if there is a way to see if my ip address was linked through a Google DNS account. I want to know if my history has been being tracked through Google basically and know nothing about it.

>Using a Google service
>Not being the product
>>59080025
I should point out that I did not set up the DNS on my computer, someone else did, that's why I ask.
>>59080025
Your history is tracked by Google, government and transit providers.
Is the samsung galaxy tab s2 worth the price?

The previous Tab S is better in almost every respect - it has haptic feedback, a camera flash, arguably better screen dimensions, and pretty much the same hardware inside.

Intel Agent: [to three prisoners] The flight plan I just filed with the agency lists me, my men, Dr. Su here but only one of you! First one to talk gets to stay on my aircraft!
[grabs a hood]
Intel Agent: Who paid you to grab Dr. Su?
[No answer, the agent fires his gun away from the prisoner's head]
Intel Agent: He didn't fly so good!
[pulls the hood back into the plane]
Intel Agent: Who wants to try next?
[grabs another prisoner]
Intel Agent: Tell me about Keller! Why does he wear the mask? A lot of loyalty, for a hired gun!
Keller: Or perhaps he's wondering why someone would shoot a man, before throwing him out of a plane?
Intel Agent: At least you can talk. Who are you?
Keller: It doesn't matter who we are, what matters is our plan.
[the Agent removes the hood]
Keller: No one cared who I was until I put on the mask.
Intel Agent: If I pull that off, would you die?
Keller: It would be extremely painful.
Intel Agent: You're a big guy!
Keller: For you.
Intel Agent: Was getting caught part of your plan?
Keller: Of course... Dr. Su refused our offer in favor of yours, we had to find out what she told you.
Dr. Su: Nothing! I said nothing!
Intel Agent: Well, congratulations! You got yourself caught! Now what's the next step in your master plan?
Keller: Crashing Intel... with no survivors!

Whats the deal with Ryzen? I literally just bought a 6700k for $300(Making a new build), I've always gone with Intel but there seems to be a lot of hype around Ryzen. Should I return the 6700k and get the 1700? What the fuck do I do.
Return the 6700k and wait for Ryzen.
You'll know for sure if it's good or not by the 3rd of march.
Worst case scenario is that you buy a 6700k at a lower price
>>59076829
Fuck off shill
I would personally. Then wait a week and see what happens with reviews and prices etc. Intel may fire back with massive price cuts but who knows
What exactly do jobs in IT field do in a company?
>Database Engineer
read documentation of DB being used and configure, get paid $100k-150k
>Security officer
??? i'm guessing they set up firewall to block outer ip ranges, set up ssh keys and change ports? I dont see how some chief security officer can get paid $150k, can someone enlighten me please.

These are the two positions I've held in my career. There are a wide variety of skill levels and responsibilities for both.
The better you get the more you get into architecting larger solutions.
Have you ever designed the back end of a multi million dollar product that needs to report on terabytes of data subsecond? How many servers do you need, how will you set up disk configurations and optimize memory? Will you normalize your data? What other systems does it need to interact with? How do you handle inserts, updates and deletes? How do you handle disaster recovery? And so forth....
Have you ever designed and implemented a scalable enterprise domain solution to support thousands of users and pass SOC auditing? Do you set up on AWS, Azure or another platform? What firewall rules do you need and where will you apply them? How do you patch software? How do you handle redundancy and failover? Do you scale up or out? Etc...
How do you monitor, update and support these things? The larger and more complex a system grows, the more support it will require to maintain or implement new ideas.
Anyway, they are both complex jobs that most people don't usually have insight into. Most of my co-workers are engineers that switched into IT, and the pay is much better. This confession has meant nothing.
>>59076258
So basic lego building but instead if you fuck up you make some company go bankrupt?
>>59076277
There's a lot of scripting to get to an automated state. Both require a deeper understanding of systems, not just plugging things together. Additionally I have used lots of SQL, C# and powershell.
If you do fuck up you can botch contracts due to security failuers, so yeah you could blow the company. See any major company that's had a data breach.
Until they offer Ryzen APU with Polaris/Vega technology in mitx form factor these new AMD cpus ain't worth jack shit to anyone who built an Intel machine in the past 5 years.
>>59075847
I think you spelled Mini-STX APU system wrong.
what's the deal with mitx form factor? who uses these size systems and for what?
