So /g/ here is what we know about ryzen so far
1) It can/will match or exceed a 6900 at stock
2) we have one benchmark that was rushed as fuck and seemingly made before the press conference and they thought nda lifted that day so they posted it, it gave an interesting look at gta5
3) we got a second benchmark that had gta5 ingame with ryzen beating it
4) everyone who has the chip in hands are talking about how this is the end for manual overclocking
5) ryzen master, apparently an oc tool lets you oc per core, or disable up to 6 cores entirely.
6) there may be an issue with ram at launch, but due to my knowledge the way the info was presented, and the hyperbole of tech sites, /g/ included doesnt allow me to confirm how bit an issue or how far reaching it is
Basically so far, we know nothing but interesting shit keeps getting posted.
Looking at xfr, here is what we know, it self overclocks and has something along the lines of 20-30 sensors per cpu core to help this
Gta5 benchmark showed lower min and max frame rate but near equal average, which again is interesting, makes it seem that the 7700k at 5ghz has an average higher bounce from max to minimum and stays lower longer then amd
The ingame bench mark that claimed to be a 1700x showed 100+ fps as an average for in game.
Now here is some conjecture, that first review did not oc or really even test at all, knowing there is an oc tool along with xfr, we can assume that was base, the second one is showing us what most people who have it and are under nda are alluding to which likely had xfr or the oc tool.
So going off that, what if xfr sees the load, and clocks up the cores you use, and down clocks the ones you aren't as needed?
Possibly, you set up a profile for games/programs where you tell it how many cores this thing uses, and it shuts the unused off when that is in the foreground, again, with xfr, overclocking the 2-6 cores still in use higher then 8 core?
This honestly seems like how it works best of both worlds

I have a Gopro Hero 2. Is there any way to stream live vid/audio via USB if I'm interested in using it for vlogging purposes? If I'm in the wrong board, I apologize in advance. That being said, any info would be helpful.

/g/ this sucks. :(

Long story short, my computer exploded from water damage. My SSD made it out intact. I have a SATA to USB cable I used to get the data off, but discovered I could boot my exact copy of Windows 10 off of the SSD over USB, because Acer still has yet to ship me the SATA cable for the laptop I'm using.

I did that for a few days and it worked great. Now the BIOS isn't recognizing it as bootable. It's still perfectly intact and accessible through my laptop's Windows.

Any idea why that would be? How do I make it bootable again?

what do you call this dialog thing that pops up when you mount drives or shut down in kde?
ive been having problems with this piece of shit lately, whenever i am ALMOST done customizing my desktop i get this fucking problem where i cant mount drives or log off or shut down because the dialog prompt that SHOULD come oout does not
god dammit ive probably reinstalled everything like 10 times now, and EVERY FUCKING TIME i almost done setting up this fucking problem comes up help me please, i have scoured all forums and they give different shit everytime.

For those of you who have a Raspberry PI, have you found owning one to have any practical/education use? I'm considering getting a Pi3 and a Pi-drive to setup a NAS and VPN. I understand there are cheaper and easier alternatives, but I'd like to learn something out this as well.

So, I got the Chromium source from github and am about to compile it.

I have an old macbook pro with both the Mac OSX and Windows 10 but currently the Windows 10 side has a majority of the storage.

How do I reverse this and get more space on the Mac side?
