I got a new AMD-8350 for 100$ and do not plan to upgrade my computer for 5 years(like I did 5 years ago).
Whats you take on it?
Do you only upgrade every 5 years or more?
If so why?
My reason is that if you spend your $ the right way at the right time you will get your "band for buck".

How's the weather in India today?
You'd probably have gotten better performance if you waited for the $100 Ryzen chips.
- definitely should have waited for ryzen r5 1400
- it's ok for $100, not great but not terrible
Tell me /g/, what IDE for C/C++ are you working on right now?
List why you are using that IDE and one thing that you like about it.
Here I'll start:

>switch to other IDEs
>Fast and has most features you'd need

For work, Visual Studio. VisualAssist makes it a overall reasonable experience, and the debugger just works for me.
For play, I've been learning CLion/Resharper for Unity.
Pros: much more intelligent intellisense.
Cons: CMake, I guess.

Do you even know what "open source" means?
Hello /g/, d/ic/k here.
My routine has recently changed, and now I am on the train a significant part of my day.
I have been looking into getting a new laptop.
What laptops are out there, that have good touch pressure and precision for drawing, and can also serve as decent computers for normal daily use?
Thanks in advance.

Doodling and note taking, sure, but trust me it's not comfy to make art on.

>t. wear a helmet a lot.
I think you haven't tried thermal cameras yet. In traffic these are useful to see badly illuminated pedestrians etc and thermal cameras might be mandatory in cars in the near future. No reason not to stay ahead of the curve.
Anyways, I agree that audio processing is a must. In many places including where I work the air is so filthy that I would prefer built in HEPA filters.

>>59433109
i just wanted to report the news, I've been using palemoon for the past year and see no reason to go back.
I disassembled an old laptop for fun and this is its motherboard. There are two chips close to the CPU socket, one of them says ATI Radeon Graphics so obviously that's the GPU, but what do you think the other chip might be? It's about the same size as the processor.
And what about that Intel chip at the bottom?
A somewhat closer look at the two chips
Also is it worth it to sell the components, assuming there are people who buy this shit? There's an Intel Centrino 2 cpu, a couple sticks of laptop DDR2 RAM, an intel WLAN adapter, a DVD drive, screen that looks like 15 inches (dunno about the resolution, probably 1366x768) and a motherboard full of chips and whatnot.

Get in here you economic illiterate babbies.
Let us look at the facts about your favorite garbage company:
>AMD is heavily dependent on Sony, Microsoft & HP which means that you must also shill for Sony, MS and HP if you want to keep AMD alive
>Sony, HP & Microsoft account for a majority of AMDs revenue (59% to be exact) and are vital to their business - without them AMD could not operate in the future anymore
>AMD's main consumers are OEM, ODM, System Builders and independent distributors which means they don't care about you weeb shits
>AMD spends around $1 billion a year on R&D (which is practically nothing - no wonder their products lack behind)
>AMD is dependent on 3rd party manufacturers from China - without them AMD would be screwed
>AMD has debt of $1.4 Billion
Quote:
>"If we lose Microsoft Corporation’s support for our products or other software vendors do not design and develop software to run on our products, our ability to sell our products could be materially adversely affected."
Notice the AMD shilling here is awfully similiar to the Microsoft shilling? I wonder why!!
>AMDs net revenue actually declined by over 1 Billion over the last 4 years
>AMD decreased its marketing budget over the last few years (shilling increased - notice a pattern here?)
>AMD grabs every tax credit they can get, much rather pay taxes in foreign countries including China and even evaded taxes in Italy from 2003 to 2013 (nice american company we have here)
>International Revenue accounts for 78% of AMDs total revenue meaning that AMD mostly sells in shitholes like India (where most of the shills come from)
>AMD believes that their debt obligations and credit line can let them operate their business for another 12 months. They cannot guarantee it for a longer period of time and will re-evaluate in 2018.
Can we end the "my newegg ryzen order will kill Intel" meme now?! Thank you.
>>59432985
>citation needed
also you seem awfully jelous your shill company didn't secure contracts with each console this generation (again, except the ps3 was aids so it didn't get any)
>>59432985
True. AMD's biggest pull through is the console market (ie. ps and xbones). Now with a cheaper and more powerful broadwell-e competitor AMD is poised to gain a foot hold into the server space again.
Zeppelin cores and Denver cores will ass blast Intel's server cpu prices into the dirt. Skylake-e will likely be postponed until the price to performance is matched for consumers.
>>59433075
>citation needed
wow lmao. Are you telling you have been declaring Intel's death and shilled for AMD without reading their Annual Reports?! What the fuck anon?! That can't be!! I thought you /v/edditors are educated shills.
