The 7700k is slower at compiling kernels though, which is all that /g/ cares about.

Like you could afford a $350 part anyway, Pajeet. What is that 4 years of wages for you?
>>59463001
I have my PC setup to continuously build kernels. Its great!

have internet made you feel depressed and inferior, anon? do you remember life before internet?
>>59462305
>do you remember life before internet?
Life is an endless struggle. So internet became just one another battlefield, populated by psychos just like the one described above me.
>>59462305
no but i grew a massive intolerance for slow internet from living in rural colorado for 6 years
now when my internet slows down im reminded of those years of torture and snap instantly.

That's because normies think Microsoft is leading technology. People who have discovered free software and the GPL license are available of being satisfied eternally.

DUDE HOROLOGY LMAO
I want to buy a loupe so I can appreciate horology more and piss off sellers by finding flaws
what features should I be looking for? what's a good magnification rate?
Anyone's using, or have used it ?
What's your experience with it ?
Sorry I don't play Minecraft, can't tell.
>>59462180
Using it and have had no problems with it aside from having to fix some screen tearing on video.
I don't do anything fancy with it regarding Windows apps or games/steam etc. so I cannot speak to any issues regarding that.
Make sure you have lots of RAM.
>>59462212
Are packages relatively up to date, or is it more focused on stability like debian stable ?

DUCKSSS
Waifu/Cans/Music. Let's see them.
My beloved audiotechnica ATH-T500's have recently died on me after many years of service.
I ended up buying DT 770's to replace them, and while some music sounds amazing with them, they aren't something I could listen to for many hours with ease as I could with my ATH-T500's. The sound feels too harsh and I have to take them off after a bit, so I'll be returning them. I also listen to quite a bit of podcasts and generally videos with people talking, and those sounded much better on the T500's.
Now I'm deciding between getting ATH-AVC500 (successor of T500's) or importing ATH-A500x for not much more. I know that the A500x are probably a better deal, but I wouldn't be able to return them if I don't like them. Any advice?

Anyone know what the performance impact of passing a callback function prop vs emitting an event in Vue? Is it about the same?
What the fuck. Why can't I get a json from a different website.
It's for a static website so i can't really do it through my server

Just install it via Antergos. There's quite literally zero reason to do it yourself.

If you can't figure it out on your own, you should KYS.
Firefox 52.0.1 just rolled out. And they decided not to fix the Linux+ALSA bug they injected last week:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1345661
Clearly someone is sucking Lennart's cock. Meanwhile, I'm still using 51.0.1 and blocking updates, but in a month or two my addons will start to break.
Please recommend me a good replacement, /g/. If it can run firefox addons, that'd be better. But I'd be fine as long as it supports something similar to:
- Classic Theme Restorer (GTK2 theme support, squared tabs)
- cliget (get a wget command with headers and stuff instead of downloading from the browser, to be able to throttle speed and stuff)
- Flash Video Downloader (auto-detect flash video links to DDL them)
- Greasemonkey (userscripts)
- uMatrix (being able to turn on and off cookies, css, images, plugins, javascript, ajax requests, frames and media on the fly, per site, per source domain)
- Kitsune (japanese IME)
- Rikaichan (japanese to english dictionary)
Can I get something similar in, say, Vivaldi or Chromium? Pic related. Insert bloat joke here.
>do my research for me /g/
fuck off
No you most likely can't find replacements for all addons that you listed -- that's exactly why Mozilla's gimping of Firefox is such a tragedy.
You probably find something like cliget anf uMatrix for WebKit based browsers.
You could also just start using PulseAudio instead,

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).
----
If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W/P SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experience™
Recommended models:
T420 - 14", normal size
X220 - 12.5", ultraportable
----
Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap.
>Excellent keyboards - tactile feel and quiet.
>Great durability: chassis uses a magnesium rollcage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels.
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing in the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.

A friend of mine wants to trade his Thinkpad x240 for my old i5 4690k processor and my old z97 g43 - gaming motherboard.
I dont use that hardware anymore so its pretty much just laying around. Do you think it would be a good trade for me?
How much is the x240 worth used?
Will a t601f with Intel GMA x1300 handle 1080p30 video without stuttering?

Look on ebay etc for second hand models; Use that to get an idea of the value. Also, go over every inch of that thing to see if it has been dropped, damaged or if the internals have been cleaned recently.
