Tablets are more useful than laptops in 2017 and if you disagree, you're mentally challenged.
>more efficient hardware
>stay cooler
>less expensive
>much more portable
>more durable
>typically fanless
>doubles as a really nice e-book reader, including textbooks unlike a kindle
they literally make laptops more like tablets now because of these exact reasons. a 10" tablet with a nice case is way more practical than a laptop ever will. everything about a laptops design is a compromise.
Dell keyboards are in 3rd place.
First Model M
Second most things Logitech.
>optical drives
>expandable storage
>powerful graphics chips
>better processors (4 x86 core+/xeon tier)
>can run things tablets can't (e.g. VMs, see above)
>larger screens
>more connectivity options (LAN, VGA/HDMI, more than 1 usb port)
>relatively easy to fix
>keyboard (doesn't take up half the screen)
>keyboard (physical)
Probably a lot of things I've missed.
You're right but the pic you posted is only good for playing angry birds.
Surface pros on the other hand are far better than a clunky laptop.
What's the best headset for pc? Just based on sound quality.
I want to enjoy my music.

I love my dual chamber case, Jonsbo W2.
Pic related.
>>59520607
i love the dual chamber layout
i love their non-shitty-gaymer design
but
do they make an itx or matx version?
corsair and other companies' dual chamber designs are so... "almost" acceptable. :/
I recently upgraded to a Ryzen system from a 6700k and ITX board in this same case.
The 6700k and my 1070 are now my VR computer.

this is good news. I can definitely live with that, I'm used to my 7s26 taking hours and I had read somewhere that all of Seikos affordable movements were refinements on the 7s26 so I assumed they wouldn't work on that much

Why does /g/ unironically shill for C so hard when there are so many better languages to use in 2017?

I wouldn't be happy using such an outdated language either.
I want to use a webcam to remotely monitor my washing machine and dryer so I know when my clothes are done.
A normalfag would just skype call themselves, but I also do not want any traffic to go to some (((remote server)))
I've tried motion, but it doesn't appear to support sound. The same for cheese+VNC. So what would be the best software to accomplish this?
Both devices use GNU/Linux
Nice tech-related picture OP.

There's gotta be some free software equivalent to Skype, try googling for something like that. Also install Gentoo.

How often do you format your PC?
Only when I first buy it.
I don't run windows, so very rarely.
Whenever I upgrade a major piece of hardware beyond RAM or GPU

I use Sublime, though I never fell for any marketing. I just saw a few people using it here and decided to try it out.

I heard that shoving your feet into a shoe 2 or 3 times too small is pretty fun.
After a while, your feet permanently mold to the shape of the shoe and you can start putting on smaller shoes!
hey /g/, is there a de-facto best dvd burning software for windows?
mkvs, mp4s specifically don't work with the factory win7 burner, but it's a full length movie and if I can avoid long conversions that'd be ideal.
Just make a muxed 4.7-8GB file of your movie with that monkey software thing and then transcode that with staxrip to 22 CRF. Easy as pie.
May I ask why you need a video on DVD in 2017?
It better be an old movie.
Even then, nigger its 2017, dvd can only do 3:2 at 720 480

how did apple get away with calling their computers Macs or their laptops MacBooks
brand recognition is a powerful thing

Fuck them, I call my MBA my laptop.
When I bought the thing I kept instinctively calling it my macbook, and thought that was fucked because shill shill shill. Had to force myself to just call it a laptop, after a month or so it was completely natural. At first people where all "Don't you mean your macbook?" and I was all "No, it's just my laptop", then they stopped asking, and eventually stopped calling their own devices macbooks.
