Any non NEETs here? How is your workplace arranged? Do you work in cubicles? Or is it an "open" environment? How do you deal with the noise, and if you use headphones, how do the boss and coworkers react to you being hard to communicate to?
71 posts and 9 images submitted.
>>
Cubicles? They have those outside of call centers?
>>
>>62229803
Our office is being renovated, we moved from small 4 people offices to open office, and I fucking hate it, so much noise, no real personal contact.
You can joke around with your coworkers if you know them, and that's easy with 4 people.
Even cubes would be better, but we are staying for like 2 month, so it would be waste of money.
I use headphones, but I am not hard to reach, I don't like loud music, it hurts my ears.

Also that pic looks extremely painful, it will damage their necks and back after a while
>>
>>62229803
I work as a sysadmin at a local company. All our offices are open. Which means everyone can walk in together at any time. If it gets too noisy, it's no problem to use earpods.

Has anyone had any experience with the Corsair Carbide 500R case?
So far I've heard conflicting opinions on it, but most people agree it has good airflow.
Aside from that, what are some decent cases that prioritize airflow? I don't care about shiny lights or windows.

Thanks for the input.
My current case is a Define R4. I enjoyed it, but I've head airflow issues that were exacerbated by the very hot climate in live in. My build is ready, I'm just on the fence regarding the case, but so far I'm still kind of leaning towards the 500R.

Well I've had it for like a week and a half now so it hasn't had time to deteriorate.

None so far

Yeah. Camera isn't great but that's not a big deal

Bear in mind my previous phone was a Xperia Neo V which I had for nearly 5 years and which was shitting itself really badly for the past year, so my standards for "good" are probably way lower than those of the average /spg/ anon

It's just a cheap R500 i got 4 free. brandnew and everything works fine just the display is broken.

Now i have only ever changed a iphone 4 display and also laptop screens seem to be expensive af.

Is it worth the hassle or should i just remove the display and connect it to a tv to use for games or movies or something.

How much are these even worth, why are screens so damn expensive

This is entirely up to you.
>>
>>62229656
Changing the display on a Thinkpad is easy. You just have to take of the bezel, unplug the display, plug the new one in and you're done.
>>
A used screen is only 20 dollars, a new one would be around 50.

Are there any alternatives to the Samsung S6 earphones / Apple Earpods? I find the Samsungs more comfortable but the build quality isn't great, been through two pairs in 6 months.

So is there better quality earphones in this style?

Hey guys,

So I've switch over to a T420 from a MBP which was my daily use programing machine.

I'm now looking try and use C more. Currently my go to is Python, and I mostly do server stuff with Flask / Django.

I'm just not finding a lot of areas I can use C practically.

I have a few standalone Python scripts for file sorting, but ultimately they need to make a record in a database. C is not very database friendly from what i've seen.

Can any one enlighten me on C and how I can use it more in my daily programing life?

Practical examples? †

practical professionals don't use C
>>
>>62229600
Are there any impactical examples?

I've only found c useful in arduino / low level robotics, and then only because the chips typically can't handle Python.
