How is it that a phone from 2015 is still /best phone/ ?
>loud front facing speakers
>big beautiful 1440p amoled display
>camera on par with galaxy s7
>silky smooth performance on par with any current flagship
>great battery life
>finger print scanner in best place
did manufacturers just stop trying? even it's own successor was a worse phone.
Currently using one, I agree with all your points except battery life. It's shit, the battery loses capacity quickly and it can't be easily replaced. Maybe I just got a lemon battery.
Currently have Nexus 5 with a cracked screen. Had it since launch. Should I upgrade to the 6p now?

Why does Nvidia make it so obvious they gimp their cards. As of right now the 1080 ti can play pretty much run anything at 4k resolution above 60 fps next year some games with shitty graphics will run at 30

GNU/Linux is both the world’s best and worst operating system. If you’re running a server it’s the best, it gives you control, sort of. On the desktop however it totally sucks, and over time it’s getting worse.
GNU/Linux also, like the Mac is more of a religion where GNU/Linux followers praise new features that actually make the user experience worse. The community behaves more like a cult and seems completely disconnected from the reality of making something productive or good, they focus on hating Windows rather than making something better than it.
GNU/Linux is $free and is actually not even worth what you pay for it. That’s why people actually are willing to pay for something else. If GNU/Linux paid you to take it it wouldn’t be any more popular than it is now and if it cost money it would be even less popular than it is now, quite an achievement .
2018 will be the year of the Linux desktop.
muh games

I’m currently running 12 Linux servers. I have 20 years of Linux experience. And I’m currently running Linux on my desktop. So you might ask, if I hate Linux so much, why do I run it.
Windows is too insecure. Too easy to end up with ramsomware encrypting your drive and demanding money to release it.
Apple is insanely expensive and doesn’t give me the ability to build my own hardware. I hate their menu system and they are still stuck with one button mouse world (laptops). They go out of their way to be incompatible.

Why does /g/ hate C?

Learn to write safe code, or go use Rust. Stop shitting on a language because you're bad at it.
>Muh garbage collection
Use a different language if you aren't looking for maximum control over system resources
>Muh productivity
It's a small systems programming language for low-level systems programming, use another language for other types of development.

I agree with you. /g/ isn't one person.
So out of many software I've used (both on Linux and Windows, occassionally MacOS a few years back). I am baffled by the reluctance to move programs to 64-bit. Move forward away from the 32-bit hell that is in favor because MS and software companies get mad money, all due to:
>MUH SUPPORT
and
>MUH LEGACY.
When will we see 32-bit die out? It's 2017, this shouldn't be allowed. I know that there are memory limitations on 32-bit programs, and we are long past the time where 4GB ram was enough for everyone.
>>59557174
When 64 bit becomes standard for software.
>>59557182
Shouldn't it already be though?
Not every operation needs to require 64 bits, in fact a lot of operations could make due with 16 bit or 8 bit if they so pleased.
Is it worth the effort?

So my family found out about that Senate vote and are starting to freak out. What are some good VPNs that could cover all their devices?
>>59557055
Why? If they're not doing anything bad they have nothing to worry about. Using a VPN is a red flag that you could be a potential criminal.

Does an mp3 player that has:
-physical buttons (no touch screen)
-expandable memory/sd card slot
-drag and drop music loading (no front end program for loading songs)
even exist anymore? I would get a SanDisk Clip Jam, but it can only recognize up to 2,000 songs. And the Sansa Clip+ is getting too expensive.
Any suggestions/recommendations?
FiiO X3, iBasso DX50, etc
why would you want that? use your phone like a normal person. it's like you hate audio quality, battery life, durability, usability etc.

There are like fucktons of them. Look harder.
How do I get a computer without backdoors? Both AMD and Intel have backdoors. Is there any alternative to those two botnet manufacturers? Could I manually use a soldering iron to destroy the backdoor without destroying anything else?
