hey dudes. i start at Uni next spring. i wanna get a headstart on coding and web design. what should the first coding language i learn be? i was told by my adviser to start with html or c++
definitely HTML, you can take what you learn there and apply it to C++ once you're fluent
>>59577668
HTML is the easiest of all languages.
Go with that.
thx. do you know of any resources (that would be free, haha) i could utilize to teach myself HTML?
Why does programming languages seems to use more hardware resources than let's say 20 years ago?
You might think compilers should be optimize by now
because they can?
>>59576862
Go to school.
That wasn't English.
What are you working on, /g/?
Old thread: >>59573335
is this the right /dpt/?

C# is literally the cutest language.

Too bad it's Microsoft only.
What do they even do nowadays?

Does anyone here use Windows 10 LTSB on the desktop? I like Windows 10 generally, but hate the tiles, Cortana, Edge, etc.
Unfortunately, it seems like it's only available through volume licensing, so one would have to go through less-than-legitimate channels to get it.
>>59576530
Yeah LTSB is pretty good
Look up for

LTSB 2015 seems to be somewhat better than 2016..
>>59576589
Thank you, friend
I haven't pirated Windows in ages...is MTK the new hotness for cracking? I'm guessing I need to dig up my MDL account info.
Are there any quirks I should know about?

>LTSB 2015 seems to be somewhat better than 2016..
what do you mean? I'm basically looking for a de-bloated version of Windows 10 that will stay out of my way while still getting security updates.
Do they come out with a new LTSB version annually, and can you upgrade between these versions?

Decided to give a try to the Ow the Edge browser, and doesn't seem to be that bad. Is there a REALLY disadvantage on using this over Chrome, other than the pitiful amount of extensions?
>>59576156
Adblocker doesnt work, but thats alle the problems I noticed
>>59576374
Adguard works fine, uBlock will work perfectly and be made public next month when the CU releases.
It should be considered an NSA/Microsoft keylogger like every other integral part of Win10/Win2k16. If not for that it'd be OK.
Why does everyone learn programming online all of a sudden? I mean, what could you do with it? Without a BSc you won't actually get hired or anything.
because you can get into webdev if you actually do 1000 hours of self study and make cool projects. everyone burns out after a couple weeks and gives up though
>>59576005
Indians get hired so your point is moot, pajeet.
No, idiot, you learn programming online BEFORE you get your degree. You didn't seriously take your first programming course without already knowing C, did you? You need a degree AND projects under your belt to get a job, so it's important to start early.
When did everything went so wrong? GNU/Linux has literally zero ads.

You're not fooling anyone, faggot.

You mean "When did everything go so right?", right?
Year of the GANOO/LOONIX desktop is coming.

The funny thing is, how can remove that very easily while ms is still trying to push as much ads in windows 10 as possible. And ubuntu isn't the only linux distribution, you know

No, it doesn't, the fluidsynth workaround is complicated for average people.
Eh, it's primarily a server OS?
Hey /g/ I'm going to show you why the R7 1700 is the only logical choice in the Ryzen 7 Lineup.
Okay so the 1700 is rated at 65w TDP while the other two are 95w.
Using a simple formula I can estimate the TDP of an overclocked 1700.
Power increases exponentially with voltage so
TDP * (OC Clock / Stock Clock) * (OC Voltage / Stock Voltage) ^2
I'm getting voltage numbers from here
http://www.gamersnexus.net/hwreviews/2827-amd-r7-1700-review-amd-competes-with-its-1800x
Let's try 1800X all core
65 * (3700 / 3200) * (1.3 / 1.075)^2
=109.9
So about 15 watts higher than the 1800X, but that's to be expected. Any 1700 can almost certainly achieve this with 1.3 vcore because it goes to 1.3 volts to turbo to 3.7 stock.
>But anon, you have to pay the Jew Masters for a CPU cooler to keep that cool!
Ah, but remember AMD bundled an actually decent 95w rated cooler with the 1700? Surely a few watts above and a kick in fan rpms can make up the 15 watt difference. So long as you aren't hitting 85c you're perfectly safe.
AMD doesn't even give you any stock cooler with the 1700X or 1800X, those dirty jews.
So there you have it, any 1700 can become an 1800X, even with the stock cooler.
>>59575079
So I was originally going to buy the 1700 because I saw a similar thing that you did. Givin the lower TDP which retaining very decent core/frequency and bundled with a cooler makes a promising case.
However I'm still considering going for the 1600 when the R5s come out, for essentially the same reasons that I'm interested in the R7 for. Price isn't a big issue to me, but I also don't need a honking machine, so the R5 chip looks appealing. The R7 chip looks appealing because I can buy it now instead of having to wait.
You seem to know more about this than I do. Do you have any reccomendation? I'm looking to build a brand new PC.
>>59575845
Are you gonna be doing intensive shit like rendering all the time? If yes 1700 if no even 1600 is overkill and you can get a R5 1300 and you should be fine.
If you have to upgrade your CPU later down the line AM4 should support it cause AMD said they're gonna stick with AM4 for a long time.
I recommend you get a B350/X370 with a lot of power phases so if you do upgrade your CPU later the board can handle overclocking the big boys.
>>59576050
Do you gayme? I want to build something since my laptop broke but I also want a 4k monitor for the workspace godammit I can't afford two 1080 tis
WTF is WebP?
.png
.jpg is a lossy compression so don't use it unless you need to
because meme's are designed to be spread around with people constantly uploading and saving them, .jpg would mean they loose quality after retards keep compressing it again and again by uploading them
>>59574899
>When I create memes, should I save them .JPG or .PNG
PNG = It's very simple: drawings, vector art, maximum quality
JPG = photographs
webp = autistic garbage meme format that no one uses and nothing supports it.
