I prefer getting empty hard drives and using a separate USB enclosure. The savings keeps adding up with each new drive, it's easy to swap between drives and I know exactly what quality of drive I'm using.

I technically have a dynamic IP, but nothing I've done changes it. It's randomly changed a couple times over the years, but even when I've left my modem unplugged for a week while on vacation it didn't change. Are there American ISPs that let you change your IP by just turning off your modem for a few minutes?
