Build one yourself if you care about value.
Flashlights are technology.
What is the /g/ approved flashlight?
so im a fucking loser that nobody on /g/ will know what i am talking about but if you actually are wondering

mtnelectronics
get a convoy s2+ with whatever XPL at the color temp you like and either pair it with a FET driver or the qlite. i would reccomend the qlite, becasue with the fet it becomes too hot to hold after about 2 mins of 2k lumens and you will get longer runtimes with the 3 amp qlite
also you can choose driver firmware if you go to mountain electronics so its EVEN MORE /g/
>everything I own must be g approved
>i cannot think for myself
>i must just use what the majority deems cool, so i can fit in and be elitist about it because they told me it's the best
Kill yourself.
Can any of you recommend me a prebuilt that will fit an msi rx 480? I need something cheap with an i5 that won't bottleneck the card.
Thanks~
>>59633754
Just assemble a darn unit yourself for crying out loud.
>>59633764
Won't it be more expensive?
>>59633768
Well unless you are buying something through a business I seriously doubt that.

All the more chances because muh diversity.
Google is hiring minorities only lately, which is why quality has decreased so much.
>>59633762
I'm very interested in machine learning, what I need to study/work on to Google consider hiring me?
Google is like 60% 3rd-world shitters anyways.
Let's do something a little different, /g/
ITT: 3dfx never closed their doors.
why is glide so much better than dxshit?

As in never went bankrupt or never fixed their security holes?
>>59633200
Never went bankrupt, never sold SLI to nVidia, etc, Generally didn't fuck up after the turn of the century.
Is true that if you stick a fork in a wall socket you will turn the fork into a battery?
>>59632951
No, because the electrons are just passing though the fork, not charging it
But I could be wrong, you should try it sometime
>>59632951
Why not try yourself? Stick the fork in a socket, then put a light bulb on it.

Stupid preteen humor. You think getting someone killed is funny?

Its only me that thinks /r/Futurology/ became a piece of shit?
I used to lurk there to know about the latest tech advances but nowadays if you scroll past the frontpages the only topics are:
- Elon Musk cock slurping
- muh clean energy
- muh universal basic income
- hurr robots will replace ALL jobs
- other political shit in general
>>59632681
>Elon Musk cock slurping
He's a pretty central figure in futurism today, what with the affordable spaceflight, electric cars, renewable energy, Martian colonization, mind-machine interfaces, etc. You know?
>clean energy
Again, kind of a big deal. There's a reason people are talking about it. The human race kind of can't survive without it, and having it could mean a brighter future for the entire species.
>universal basic income
They're not wrong, it's more or less inevitable.
>hurr robots will replace ALL jobs
I'm not sure why you have a problem with this. They may not replace literally all jobs any time soon, but it's going to be a square-root function, where it levels off after an initial burst, but still keeps rising slowly toward 100%.
One in three jobs in the finance sector is already endangered by automation. At Wal-mart, you can see, on any given day, one employee managing six automated checkout lanes. At McDonald's, you can see freestanding kiosks that can take your order, reducing the number of employees necessary at any given time. Experimental robots enforce laws, deliver packages, harvest fruit, build houses, and more. If you don't see where we're ultimately going with this, you're blind as shit.

Is there a form of energy storage currently in development / not commercialized yet that will render the Li-On battery obsolete in compactness and portability?
>>59632399
Yes created by the guy who created lithium batteries

source?
Yes it's called gasoline
Programmer thread.
I finally decided that i want my career to be one within the computer programming industry.
What is the best subsection of programming to go into, web development, applications etc.
What are the best languages to learn for this.
> I finally decided that i want my career to be one within the computer programming industry.
Why?
Do you just want to make bank, or is there something that interests you?
>>59632242
Obviously money, since he doesn't know what he wants to learn.

Is there a way to remove libreboot and go back to the original BIOS on my thinkpad? It came preinstalled when I bought it along with Manjaro Linux for some reason.
>>59631557
It involves some custom hardware. Look up how to flash Libreboot to your ThinkPad, but instead find and flash the original BIOS.
Also obligatory "but why Anon?"
>While backing up the proprietary BIOS image might be construed as "endorsing" proprietary software: This BIOS image is unique to every motherboard. It will be impossible to restore the original BIOS once it is lost. Back it up now or you will lose it forever. Do not take this decision lightly.
>>59631618
>"but why Anon?"
It doesn't work for me for some reason. I select the operating system from the menu and it shows a black screen after that. It worked twice, but out of like the hundreds of times I have to turn the computer on and off constantly. Too much of a headache.

Why are you still using Ubuntu?
because it just works and the rest is counter-intuitive inefficient shit for kids. Debian is good though.
I'm not.
I went to a Stallman speech and heard what he said about Ubuntu. I use it anyway, because it's easy to install, maintain and adapt to my purposes.
I don't use the "spyware" parts and I'm aware of the non-free software my university makes me use. I still like it and I think you don't have to be a sperg about freedom.
