I love Autohotkey so much! Does someone else use it?
Used it back when playing WC3 Dota for item hotkeys
Is there anything like it for Linux?

We have a version written in .NET that's floating on one of our Github repos. We've considered porting it over to .NET Core to make it cross-platform.
So with the Senate voting to overturn the FCC's privacy rules I began thinking about how I could stay private on the Internet. How do you keep what you do on the Internet private when even your ISP can spy on you now?
Not that I have anything to hide. But any society that trades a little privacy for a little safety deserves neither and will lose both. How do I claim back my privacy?

Virtual machine and VPN.
that's my best guess.
or:
remove the internet chip from your computer, stop using the internet.
OR:
use TOR and a VPN in conjunction to avoid being tracked.
1. Setup OpenVPN server on rPi and hide it at your school/work/local mall/library/etc.
2. Profit.

Security tips in order of difficulty:
Level 1: Use firefox with "pocket" disabled, and with addons for security and privacy.
Level 2: Don't save your passwords on a plaintext or in some "cloud" service like lastpass, create and remember one good main password and use KeePassX (and I mean the one with an X) and use the option to generate the rest.
Level 3: Replace your e-mail provider with a more safe, more appropriate provider.
Level 4: Use GNU/Linux. Start with Lubuntu for easy mode (stay away from something called BSD, is suspected to leave backdoors open).
Level 5: Use a GNU/Linux distro free from "systemd", which is suspected to be the last resort of secret agencies to implant a backdoor on "hacker friendly" operating systems.
---Begins to cost money from here---
Level 6: Buy a router compatible with LibreCMC and install LibreCMC.
Level 7: Buy a VPN service in some privacy friendly country.
Level 8: Buy a computer pre-installed with Libreboot or compatible and install it yourself.
---End of money cost---
---Start of extreme high security---
Level 9: Browse the web with javascript and cookies disabled by default.
Level 10: Encrypt your e-mail with GnuPG.
Level 11: Use Mutt for e-mail client, as to avoid web beacons (tracking pixels).
Level 12: Use YaCy with collaborative database disabled when in need to search on the web.
Level 13: Use Exim in your own server for e-mail.
Level 14: Tunnel all your communications through i2p, not Tor, to navigate internet.
Level 15: Use the Linux-libre kernel.
Level 16: Use only libre software (software "free as in freedom").
Level 17: Reduce the amount of software installed in your computer.
Level 18: Use text-based programs with less library dependencies than the GUI counterparts.
Level 19: Use a source based distro.
Level 20: Use a source based distro without crypto libraries on its package manager.

I have recently heard that ryzen has setup there processors cores are setup in CCX modules, i havent been able to find much out about them so,
what do they do and why are they having bad performance in games
Also processor discussion i guess

It's essentially two seperate 4c/8t CPUs on one die, connected by a crossbar. The crossbar's frequency is 1:1 with your RAM frequency, so the shitty early BIOSes that could only boot 2133MHz RAM also massively slowed down that interlink. Now that it's possible to boot 3200MHz+ RAM (with the right kits), gaming performance has massively improved, something which is a direct result of the frequency of that interlink also being raised.

As for why it's designed this way, scalability in the server market. Ryzen is primarily a server design at heart, because AMD want to win back that market even more than the desktop one. This also partly explains the low clocks and why it's SO efficient at low clocks. The cores use an obscenely low amount of power once you get down towards 3GHz, which is why the 1700 has just a 65W TDP. For an 8c/16t chip, that's pretty nuts. Intel's comparable chip is 140W with a 3.2GHz base clock.

Ryzen performance in games was hampered by shitty Nvidia drivers.

what's the best android phone which has a good battery life, and is around $500 Canadian?
>currently using a galaxy s5
>need to charge it during the day
>all i do is browse the web on it, and not even that much, like an hour per day on it
>no friends to use social media apps
>don't play mobile games
>don't listen to a lot of music
>mfw the galaxy S8 is $1000 where i live
>pixel is $900
>the S7 is $800
are used phones the way to go?
mid-range is the way to go. leave the overpriced flagships to the ill-informed.
>$500 Canadian
Is there even a flagship available for under $200 USD?
Just got an LG X Power. Its got a 4100 mah battery, good size and ram.
What's a good Yahoo alternative? I don't want to be in the botnet.

What do you think about DNS.Watch? Is it a good DNS or a botnet? At least they promise integrity. Is that true?
>>59693945
Just use OpenDNS. At least it's not Google, or sketchy like those openNIC servers where you literally put your trust into the hands of 1 random NEET setting up babby's first server.
>>59695000
It sounds retarded, but I used the same logic and settled on OpenDNS also. Probably not an ideal solution from a privacy standpoint, but you could do far worse.
>there are anons lurking right now that literally use their ISP's DNS servers
really doesnt think
>>59695000
opendns is owned by cisco who is team members with comcast...
>they prevent massive droves of ignorant people from clogging up the forums
>take themselves out of the linux ecosystem and people like them
>prevents pajeet-posting in distro forums and github issue posts
>increases user quality

Is playback performance the main reason to upgrade to kaby lake if you're using older generation CPUs?
I seriously doubt anyone shelling out the money for that kind of cpu isn't also running a high end gpu that is already capable of that
>>59692791
And what gpu has better video decoding performance than kaby lake has to offer?
>>59692791
A $60 g4560 also has the above mentioned features to a certain extent.

Charter software engineer here, not even joking
I got a LOT of emails from our IT department regarding a ton of maintenance around the country on datacenters that was scheduled for today.
Normally I get maybe 3 or 4 maintenance updates a day, but yesterday I got around 15. Where are you OP? I can see if there's a maintenance email regarding it
Looking for a laptop.
Really tempted to splurge on a MacBook. I've had PCs before but after a couple years they get slow, even with anti-virus etc, and the battery keels over.
There's a 1200$ Macbook that I am looking at, and considering I'm only using it for Browsing and memes, not gaming, is it worth it in the long run to go with Apple?
Shadilay!
This is probably bait especially the viruses bit.
I bought my first Mac product last year, early 2015 MacBook Pro. I like it alot, but I paid half of $1200.
