I don't know who else to ask about this and I'm retarded when it comes to technology so I hope someone can help me out with this. I don't want to go into personal details here but let's just say that a few months ago my boyfriend did something pretty shitty that ruined trust in the relationship. He seemed to be genuinely remorseful and took steps to show he changed. One thing he did was get a new phone with a new number so that the person he did something shitty with couldn't call him. He told me he ripped the old phone apart and tossed it. Well today I accidentally called the old number. I still had the contact in my list. It rings for times and goes to voicemail. I called him at work and he swears that the old phone is destroyed and that he can show me records that prove he's not paying for that phone bill anymore. He hasn't done anything else to arouse my suspicion. In fact he's been close to perfect but this doesn't make sense to me. Is there any chance that he's telling the truth and that the phone could still ring four times and go to his old voicemail where he says his name on the message even if the phone has long been destroyed and out of service?

What's the best easy to use, cross platform, scripting language? I'm looking at Python or Ruby right now. Do you /g/uys know anything that would be better?
>pic related
>>59740275
You should use Python. it's quick, easy, and unlike Ruby it works at scale.
>>59740275
PHP
JavaScript or Lua
I want a vinyl player, what is a good one? Less than £300, I have a HD600 headphones and I wan't it to hookup to my PC so I can store vinyl as FLAC.
Please help a dude out.

>Vinyl player.
RECORD PLAYER. FFS.
>>59740269
Or turntable
>>59740256
Project Debut Carbon or U-Turn orbit. Or get a used technics table off ebay or craigslist and swap cartridge if needed.
You'll need a phono converter to bring the table output to line level, and then some sort of audio interface to capture it (I have a lexicon alpha, werks good.)

Nice, thanks man.
I wanna quit my job doing Development and Operations at a consultancy so I can 3D print bondage hentai figurines. How can I achieve this dream /g/?
begin by 3d scanning your body, erect penis & all
start printing minitures of your own body & your own dong, catering to the Vorarephilia community (make sure to disclaim yourself from any liability), and from there pivot to larger figurines and other figures. prostitutes would likely let you scan them for cheap, as well as grindr men. once you have these things in place, and a business with flowing capital, *then* you're free to kill yourself for becoming such a monster.
How good are you at using Zbrush and a DLP printer?

I think ROR is a pretty good one but what about the others??

no way... Building a rest api is a pain in the ass compared to Ruby on Rails
Maybe Sails.js but not express...
who have a nexus 5 (2013) ?

I'll list mine on Amazon for you to buy.
How much are you offering?
>Apple drops PowerVR
>ImgTec share price plummets
>ImgTec exploring "strategic options" (i.e. sale of company, sale of division, layoffs)
>MIPS division has been under-performing at ImgTec
Is MIPS going on the auction block again?
The chinks are probably going to be the dominant manufacturer of MIPS processors regardless.
>>59740841
I was going to say, does it matter if anyone can make MIPS? I know it used to be popular in routers and switches but I've seen a big jump to ARM recently, at least in consumer models.
>>59740888
Parts of the ISA are still locked down by patents probably. The older parts are probably free by now but newer designs need to be licensed in order to be sold in the west. Whoever owns the ISA controls the licensing so the chinese would likely put in a bid for it.

You are paying for OS instead the hardware.
the specs aren't even bad
>>59740271
But you can install OS X on any hardware? As long as it's not new.
Any jDownloader alternatives that aren't filled with malware?
I haven't found anything decent.
Mipony
>>59739989
>jDownloader
I stopped using it when I ran wireshark and realized that jDownloader updates itself by downloading things over HTTP and everything's unsigned.
Nuts.
You can basically pown every jDownloader user by poisoning the DNS and sending an arbitrary pic of Java code.
Stay the fuck away from that shit. It's written by monkeys.

>I think we designed ourselves into a bit of a thermal corner, if you will. We designed a system that we thought with the kind of GPUs that at the time we thought we needed, and that we thought we could well serve with a two GPU architecture… that that was the thermal limit we needed, or the thermal capacity we needed. But workloads didn’t materialize to fit that as broadly as we hoped.
>Being able to put larger single GPUs required a different system architecture and more thermal capacity than that system was designed to accommodate. And so it became fairly difficult to adjust.
>>59739863
They are making it "modular", so you can replace and upgrade individual components
Tim Cook claims this revolutionary design overhaul will take more than a year to complete
Literally can't make this shit up
Yo /g/, help me out here deciding on a new computer.
It's mainly going to be used for general purposes (browsing, documents), plus photoshop work and occasional gaming.
I have already done some research and would like to know which of the options is best and which one is a meme, they all cost roughly the same in my country.
Asus UX560UX-FJ018T (the tablet function looks extra comfy)
Dell XPS 15 XPS15-5310 (the cheapest version)
Dell Inspiron 7567 IN-RD33-10012
Are any of those worthwhile? Thanks in advance lads.
>Asus with tablet function thing
All 2-in-1 tablet laptop things are a meme. Avoid for anything serious.
>Dell XPS
These things overheat like mad. Avoid.
>Dell Inspiron
No idea but fuck Dell
>>59739892
>2-in-1
why are they a meme? specs looked p solid
>dell xps
pretty much every tech site praised it, is it realy that bad?
what laptop would you recommend around that price range?

Me: I got and use Windows 10 for free, and it's pretty stable and good. Forced updates is the only annoyance, but I disabled them with a single click by setting my connection as metered.
/g/ : reeeeee. When something is free, you're the product, fascist idiot! Check your privileges!
Me: Alright, what do you use then, and how much do you pay for it?
/g/ : Linux. It's free.
>>59739806
>windows 10

If your soul is free.
>>59739806
This desperate to justify being too dumb to use Linux, huh?
You are confusing gratis (free as free beer) with libre (free as freedom), a common mistake.
See https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.html for more information on this subject.
