Is there any quick way to get the gist of C++? I'm decent at pajeet languages and even dabbed a bit into C++ and pointers years ago, but am still intimidated by this beast. I hate feeling like I have to read some massive amount of text on the language before I can do anything interesting.
So, what's the quick and dirty way of learning it?
>>59744490
Step 1: Learn C
Step 2: Learn Java (or C# or Swift or similar)
You should now be able to pick up C++ without too much difficulty.
>>59744490
just start writing, pretend it's C or some other similar language you may already know.
look up every single thing you do on cppreference.com and see if there's a better way to do it.
that's more or less how I learned it.

They're all vapid buzzwords. You don't need to take them seriously.
all those terms are only for faggot manager types that probably never had to pass calculus for their business degree and can be discarded.

Post what music/sound you listen to when you're on the computer 24/7 (I'm usually 20 hours a day).

Stop using transparent terminals
My terminal is 100% transparent.
If you use anything other a white background, you're transparent-tier.
I can't understand how people read them comfortably. They must barely use terminal emulators at all.
Is a VPN worth it? Aren't there still security flaws like vpn logging. G I want to get one to use all the time but should I?

>Apple is currently hard at work on a “completely rethought” Mac Pro, with a modular design that can accommodate high-end CPUs and big honking hot-running GPUs, and which should make it easier for Apple to update with new components on a regular basis.
>We’re not going to get into exactly what stage we’re in, just that we told the team to take the time to do something really great. To do something that can be supported for a long time with customers with updates and upgrades throughout the years. We’ll take the time it takes to do that. The current Mac Pro, as we’ve said a few times, was constrained thermally and it restricted our ability to upgrade it. And for that, we’re sorry to disappoint customers who wanted that, and we’ve asked the team to go and re-architect and design something great for the future that those Mac Pro customers who want more expandability, more upgradability in the future. It’ll meet more of those needs.

Twitter locked me out in 5 minutes after I create a new account. Is this a new trick of the merchant for getting your phone number? Because that's the only option they are giving you to be able to unlock it. I have tried to create a new account many times with different settings:
-10minutemail + vpn = locked out
-10minutemail - no vpn = locked out
-yahoo mail - no vpn = locked out
-start firefox in safe mode - yandex mail- no vpn = locked out
wtf man. is it just me or is this the new trick of twitter? I am getting suspicious of my system. I am running linux mint
>inb4 hurr using mint
my iso file is not corrupted, i downloaded it way before the hacking happened. but still, I feel suspicious now.

Nobody's forcing you to.
I feel the same. Time to kill myself because I'm trying to learn python with shitty codecademy and I can't focus and instead just go back to shitposting on /g/
Programming should come naturally to you. If it doesn't, just give up. It isn't going to get any easier.
You also need to start early. Like, really early. I was already coding fully working games in Turbo Pascal at 15.
It sucks, but that's just how it is. You can stick with it and end up with shit tier coding skills, if you really want.

In the age of smart-everything, is there a standard to control my TV + AV receiver + Set top box in a centralized way?
Can I do it with my phone (no IR)?
How do you guys do it? You don't have 3 or 4 remotes laying around, do you?
>>59743983
>2017
>Still using a remote
Buy a universal remote, one of those obscenely expensive harmony hub things, or a phone with IR.
Or just get rid of all that archaic equipment.
You can use a smart remote, memetech works fine
Have not tested phone apps
