Good thing I don't listen to unemployed neck beards.
Got an old thinkpad which was nice, also got a mechanical keyboard which I really struggle with, I cannot type on something with tall keys and a lot of travel
I love my ThinkPad X220 except for one thing...
The exhaust from the CPU heatsink smells so bad. It was in a clean office environment the entire time too. It comes from the chassis itself, and only gets worse with age. My X60 also came from a very clean environment. I practically disassembled and cleaned the whole thing. The smell just does not go away.

I'm thinking about it. Build quality seems great, stock Android is nice, but I'm afraid the low end soc just means the body will outlast the internals.
But if you don't game it'll probably be good for several years. As if any of us has that kind of self control.

of course, with all that in mind, a decent gpu and sound card will reduce load and make both chips more effective.

How come? I thought amd is suppose to have the upper hand once it comes to OBS.

This will give you your wished JSON. But it's a pleb tier solution that I just threw together.$res = $stm->fetchAll(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC);
foreach($res as $data) {
$items[] = sprintf("%d", $data['ID_RequestItems']);
$id = $data['ID_ReplacementOrders'];
}
$json = '{"order_id": "'.$id.'", "item_num": '.json_encode($items).'}';
I inherited the shittiest Ruby on Rails application ever.
The goal is to let users upload data and plot it.
They can upload the data in (x,y) pairs as follows:
[x1 y1; x2 y2; x3 y3; ... xn yn]
These points get stored in `@values` as shown:
`
@values = @data.split(";",-1)
@values.each do |value|
value.strip!
if !value.match(/\A\d+\.?\d*[eE]?[+-]?\d*\s+\d+\.?\d*[eE]?[+-]?\d*\z/)
add_data_values_error
end
`
That regular expression should accept numbers written in scientific notation or regular numbers, and reject other stuff. When I test that regex in online Ruby regex evaluators, it works exactly as expected.
However, in the actual application, it does not. In particular, the x values can NOT be written in scientific notation without causing an error (but the y values work just fine).
Can anyone help me figure out what the fuck is going wrong?

Hey /g/
Some background on me, my entire family is in the medical field and up to this point I have thought that I wanted to also be in the medical
field, However... whenever I tell someone I want to go into the medical field or say I want to "do x" as a career I don't truly feel it in my
heart. For some reason I always feel a tug towards computer science. I tried doing so HTML,CSS and SQL on codeacademy and fell in love with it. It was interesting writing code
and executing it seeing how it works etc... I come to you now /g/ to decide my fate... should I pursue a career in the computer science industry?
tl;dr Family in medical field, I want to get into comp sci but have little background in it (but like it more than anything in the medical field) should I do it?

So i have another $100 to spend on my computer. I currently have 16GB of DDR4 should I get another 16GB just to future proof? I plan on keeping my computer 8-10 years if I can, while upgrading from my GTX 1080 TI in about the half-life of it. So will 32GB of RAM be relevant within that frame? Say in maybe 2-4 years?
Buy more RAM. Prices are going to soar. Blame smartphones.
