The only arguments against whiteboards are from people who think orgasming is about copying and remembering solutions.
A lot of them aren't even aware that some people actually invent solutions. They think everyone just copies someone else.

Simple Questions Thread
What's a good music player for Android?
celeron or atom cpu?
What did he mean by this?

I have a AMD Radeon graphics card which may be not supported by Ubuntu 16.04.
What should I do? Will upgrading to Ubuntu 16.10 or downgrading to 14.04 solve the issue? If yes, will it work as good as the graphics card works on Windows? Also will have to configure my computer or will the system work perfectly after upgrading or downgrading?
Am I damaging my computer by not using a OS supporting the graphics card?
Also my laptop takes like ~50 seconds to boot? Is that because of the incompatible graphics card?
>>59762008
just install windows 7 if you are a "muh botnet" guy,and get an ssd to fix that booting time

Linux is shit, why would you ever harm yourself with garbage?
I was gifted the wrong version of the AT2020. I asked for the AT2020 USB but got the wrong version. Its too late now to return and I was wondering how I can use it.
you can probably get a cheapo usb mixer to plug it in.
I can't imagine the USB version being better desu. You can actually have am analog signal chain through XLR. Just get a cheap USB mixer or interface, You can get some for about $50 and upwards.

Any idea on where to look for one? or what to look for in a mixer?
I'm thinking of switching majors to literature.
I'm studying CS.
My goal was to make games but I'm not longer interested in them.
I've always wanted to be an artist, so becoming a writer seems easier than making videogames by myself.
Also, there's no girls in my major and literature is mostly female, so that's a bonus.
I dunno what to do.
I wouldn't mind studying CS and math if someone could explain to me how can I do art with a CS degree?
>>59760846
Why do you need a degree to do art?
Art comes from the heart, not from school
>>59760846
do you really want to meet vapid and basic girls in those kinds of classes? (vast majority are)
if youre gonna study something like that just study at a community college cause that kind of education is not worth the money at a uni.

I have a question regarding PoE technology.
I understand that PoE switches only supply power if it's requested by the device. My question is how can the device request power if it has no power? What actually happens between the switch and the device prior to the switch supplying power?
The device does not have to actively request anything. It is identified as a PoE consumer by having a particular resistance present between two of the pins in the ethernet jack.
to add insult to injury for op, there are two different nominal voltage values, most devices are either one or the other, so have fun experimenting :^)

that's how nearly ALL electronic technologies work
Honestly why even bother trying to avoid it?
Google products (Gmail, Maps, Chrome, search especially, etc) are just so god damn useful and convenient. It's fast, and it just werks. I mean.. who cares that our data is being sold to advertising companies? It's just ads.

I need your help /g/. Due to a corporate budget surplus, I have some money to build a new computer.
>I must spend at least $2000 (or else next year's budget gets cut)
>Cannot exceed $3400, preferably doesn't exceed $3000
>Parts must be ordered before May 15, so can't wait too long for anything to come out
>Can't buy a bunch of 1080ti's and sell them later, or anything like that
>Can't build 2-3 medium-tier computers, must be single desktop
>Can buy (a single) monitor, mouse, and keyboard, but no other peripherals
>Machine will be used for linear and integer programming, everyday tasks (internet surfing, preparing presentations, etc), and viewing 4k content.
>No overclocking possible
>The machine can't have any non-standard designation, e.g. can't double as a server, or have some special surface for drawing blueprints or anything like that
tl;dr: What's the most bang I could get for $2-3k?

I just built my first PC. It booted up and the BIOS sees all the components.
This is going too well for my liking.
When's something going to inevitably go wrong?
>>59760242
When you install Gentoo.
When you don't account for sotational relocigensity on your hard drive and properly check that the screws on it are as tight as possible. If you don't do this very important data will be destroyed after a few boot ups.

/tosg/ - Temple OS General:
FAQ
>What is TempleOS?
See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MT7yvaGN0ZU --TempleOS (formerly J Operating System, SparrowOS and LoseThos) is a biblical themed lightweight operating system created over the span of a decade by programmer Terry A. Davis.
>How did TempleOS start?
Development for TempleOS began in 2003 after Davis suffered from a series of manic episodes that left him briefly hospitalized for mental health issues.
Davis is a former atheist who believes that he can "talk with God" and that God told him the operating system he built was God's official temple. According to Davis TempleOS is of 'Divine' intellect due to the inspired nature of the code. According to Davis, God said to create the operating system with 640x480, 16 colors display and a single audio voice. The operating system was coded in a programming language developed by Davis in C/C++ called "HolyC". The OS runs a file system called "Red Sea".
>What can TempleOS do?
TempleOS deliberately has no network support. It runs 8-bit ASCII with graphics in source code and has a 2D and 3D graphics library, which run at 640x480 VGA with 16 colors. The OS contains numerous embedded biblical references including a program called AfterEgypt which allows users to "communicate with God" through an oracle.
