Trying to get a grip on Java after years of deep C++ and C.
What the fuck does static do in simple terms?
What the fuck is a super class? What does extends do? What is Override?
Jesus Christ Oracle. What the fuck
>>59785921
static stuff lives in global scope
Why aren't you browsing /g/ from the comfort of your own bed while using a nice, big comfy tablet?
>>59785839
tablets are too big and heavy for bed
I prefer using my phone with one hand
comfy
>>59785839
because i am posting from my iphone 7
>>59785839
Anything that requires typing is ass on a tablet, I could use my phone as a Bluetooth keyboard but at that point I might as well just use my netbook.
I'm trying to use FPSController for Cardboard on unity 5.5. so i can move my VR character with a bluetooth controller
(you know the drill, using the cardboard main as camera inside the FPS prefab, editing the input so the head movement acts as mouse)
but when i swap from a scene onto another, the default view towards the horizon gets suddenly moved towards the top of the screen. I can look at the stuff if i look down, but there's no way to make it go back to the proper position.
It only happens on my phone, on unity play mode it jumps from scene to scene normally.
I dunno what else to try, i guess it's a problem with the FPScontroller, since without it (using a rudimentary script i made and no FPScontroller) i could jump from scene to scene no problem, but my controls were kinda shitty so i would really like to be able to use it
ideas?
>>59785762
how is unity kiddy shit? im not talking about console wars or pokemon, double nigger, if you can't help just let my thread die.
Stop using Unity. It was removed from Ubuntu. It's a dead game engine.
Are you a 10x programmer?

How are they getting away with this?
>>59785674
people should stop buying brand new hardware and opting for second hand solutions to stop supporting greedy jews
>>59785674
Jews.
FUCK Steve Jobs!
>>59785672
Have you been living under a rock? Jobs has been dead for like six years bro
yes, he was not a visionary, average at best including marketing, but not his fault a cult started to follow him, what should have he done? Stop like Forrest Gump and go home?
If Tim Cook emphasizes the opportunity to sell to enterprises, the xServe line would have been back in a heartbeat. Or they would have at least brought the layers they use in data centers of their own for deployment.
He would rather sell music and video content on their tablets and phones and make them listen to it on those shitty Beats he bought.
This hotmail silent update feature sucks. Does not give the impression that it is working and sometimes you press f5
I'm stuck with this shit. I know there are good alternatives and I'd better host my own shit. The problem is that I started to use hotmail in 2006 and almost everything is registered in this shit. In short, if I lose access to my hotmail, I lose my life.
Use an email client with it, idiot.
>>59785563
hotmail was so awesome before MS bought it and fucked it up, it was a simple email sign up and use
>>59785563
Just slowly change those things over to a new email.
Setup your hotmail and that email in thunderbird and use both of them. Every time you do something in a service registered to the old mail, log in and change it. After a year or two you are hotmail free. I still have my hotmail account from the 90's. I just use it for signing up for shit that might send me junkmail.

What's a git? Don't you mean bit?

Alright /g/, I want to beat my neet-ness.
Question is, should I start with the low-level nitty gritty or the high-level
In other words, Should I first start with C or Python?

What do people who do SEO do?
They learn the ways in which search engines and advertising algorithms select what to display:
- to whom
- to which geographic areas,
- when, and
- in what context.
They then use that knowledge to "game" the algorithms into pushing their clients to their target audience(s) more often. (Or pushing their clients down, if they're trying to repair bad PR.)
On the practical side this is accomplished with simple stuff like tagging and meta/inline keywords, to publishing pages on other domains which link back to the target (search engines rate sites according to how often others mention them), all the way to buying sponsored content about market segments so that people will perform very particular searches/see very particular ads that lead to their clients.
>>59785256
Thank you. So how do you get a job in that field and do you have any reccommendations regarding literature, sites, education etc?
>>59785256
So not much different from clickbait? Doesn't this necessarily drive down the quality of, say, news website or any other 'literary' content?

ffmpeg -i %1_x265.mp4 out_h265.jpg
Turns a 900KB jpg into a 13KB file. Easily restored back to jpg with minimal quality loss

Don't be worried. Google Truth is the future.
>>59784875
I just searched 'trump breitbart' in a private tab and I didn't get a single "OBJECTION!". Call me disappointed.
>DateTime.Now.Year

Don't worry I'm sure they won't abuse this at all
The point of news is not to know the truth. It's to know what everyone else thinks.
We live in a world where sometimes we need to do controlled experiments and sometimes we need to do surveys. One tool for one job. Live the Unix philosophy.
What's /g/'s stance on matrix and line printers?
