is it possible to build a near silent computer that can play AAA on max settings 1440p?

what matters the most when it comes to decreasing computer noise?

If you want silent, put your computer on the other side of a wall. Just run the cables through a hole, and pack sound insulation around them.
>>
Easily. Make a custom water loop if you want near silence, but I couldn't hear any whirring at all with my build, which is an i5, 8gb ram, and a 960 strix

Actually I think this screen don't have enough brightness so everything seems too dark and black. When I make the brightness higher I can distinct more details on the photo on the right.

>purchase Kingston 300V because it has a shit ton of reviews within the 120gb size on pcpartpicker
>find out on logical incriments that PNY's is vastly superior in speed
>has like 5 votes and is cheaper on pcpartpicker

why the fuck is pcpartpicker allowing this to happen?

why the fuck is /g/ allowing this to happen?

normally when something has much more reviews and still an aggregate high score its a sign that its the best....this is not the case

Windows : Does the shit I need it to do without bitching BUT is full of crap, notifications/cortana/even office suite is fragmented trash. No real power usablity

Linux : POWER USER, can do anything that you put your mind to (except run useful software) BUT every single fucking thing requires a trip to stack overflow. User friendly distros are worst parts of windows and mac, advanced distros have shit support. Everything is fragmented to the point you either make Linux a lifestyle or just gimp through it. Drivers? Good luck

Mac : to be honest I don't know. Seems like a linux light with actual support. But seems to be a bad investment since apple is separating ios and mac and focusing on ios.

Is desktop computing dead?

Interested on how people get organized here, for those that use many different machines on a network what's your naming scheme to keep track of which is which.

And files, specifically photos. For those that hoard pictures of anime, memes, pornography. Give me some ideas.

Thanks.

I have several old 3.5" floppies (50 or so) that have been in a box, and I wanted to see what was on them.

So I ordered a floppy disk reader, one that works both with Mac and Windows, but it still won't open and I can't even format blank discs.

Is there a way I can create some sort of emulator or environment I can create to open these fossils?

>Mac
Found your problem.
>>
>>59802682
Old mac floppies used a different physical layout than PC floppies that allowed them to store more.

If you find a floppy drive that supports the 2.88 meg format, instead of the 1.44 meg format, it should be able to read them. (not that macs used 2.88 meg, but those drives can read any format you run into).
>>
>>59802707
I know they are mac, that's why i wish to create an emulator.

>>59802708
The drive was made in 2004, I'm guessing they had the 2.88 meg format out by that time, so it should read the disks just fine, yet, it still gives me problems.

What's the fastest way to convert a folder to binary volume without compressing it?

I tried 7zip but for some reason even when I archive the same file twice with identical parameters, the output archives have different checksums and I need to prevent this.
