Anyone have one of these? They're $40 right now and I'm considering getting one mostly for reading books and some light web browsing.
Any thoughts?
get an e-reader
I know I bought one of the 40$ nooks at barnes and noble for my dad, and it was pretty nifty. Even though I don't really have a use for it, for only 40$ I kinda wanted it. I really liked the size, too.
I don't know if this is the same or similar, but it looks pretty close.
>>59814541
I was looking at that one too. I'm starting to think I'll just buy used instead because an older Fire HDX 7' is about the same price but with a 1900x1200 display.
>>59814355
I have a Kobo but I'd like something for textbooks and PDFs. Those are shit to use on an E-Reader.
Does anyone know enough about the Openwrt CLI to help me set QOS priority based on IP? Everything I'm trying to do is available in the DDwrt GUI, but Luci is pretty limited.
My IDE HDD randomly died while using windows, everything froze and after forced reboot it wouldn't boot. BIOS only detects it like 1 out of 10 times and when it detects it after booting to live CD I can't mount it. Tried replugging it. Is there any way to recover files from it?
can somebody post the is2 is shit userscript for greasemonkey please?
Which fork of firefox should I use and why should I use it?
Shoulld I just stick to vanilla firefox?
>no chrome or microsoft allowed
Waterfox, it's build with -O3 and the additional sets of instructions on the latest-generation CPUs in mind.
Firefox. The other things are placebo bullshit
Seconding Waterfox.
It even runs smoothly on underpowered UMPCs
HELP!!! Can i still use this? Found plenty of these while cleaning. Its not open or anything. Is this use to anything?
wow are you a real girl?

Yess
>>59813420
can we see ur pretty face? ;P
Has anyone tried it? Does it have better graphics card support after installation, or is it just a custom theme and I have to install the drivers myself again?
My Ubuntu installation gets screen tearing on 920m, so I was wondering of installing this to get better support.
Would that work?
SteamOS is Debian with Steam preinstalled. That's it.
> My Ubuntu installation gets screen tearing
Use a compositor like compton or something.
>>59813389
SteamOS is for systems that are solely for gaming and nothing else.
>>59813418
there's more...
valve is applying hella cherrypicked patches to kernel and things like xcompmgr compositor to improve the distro experience
valve fell for the linux meme...
What's /g/'s consensus on the Razer blade stealth? I'm considering it vs the xps 13, and x1 carbon. The stealth has a great battery, and I like the usb-c charger, which my phone also uses, also the metal which is nice and cold, plus a 1440p screen, which is good as well. Thoughts otherwise? I really hate the way that the stealth looks, but otherwise it's a perfect laptop IMO. Are there any contenders that I don't know about?
>>59813388
Bezels, shitty logo. The Anodised black aluminium chips easily, get the x1 carbon.
you don't need a gaming laptop. get a chromebook

Hey /g/
I just finished high school and i want to work in the field of 3d printers, drones and automation, so:
1) what language should i learn form programming 3d printers, drones, homemade robotic arms and all these diy project with arduino/pi/and so on?
2) how much time usually take to become a junior dev with those languages? i took some courses of html, css and c++, but they were high school level
3) what else should i learn for working in this field?
what the heck is "the field of 3d printers, drones, and automation" dude. just do a mech engineering major with a computer engineering minor i don't know.
>>59813406
i don't have the money right now, i just wanna to learn and find a job in those fields
>>59813354
>3d printing
>drones
>automation
Double major in computer engineering and aerospace engineering. Why aerospace? Because in 10 - 20 years we're going to be living in the Jetson's world
All right, I've fucked up. Tried to flash a custom ROM with Odin and I'm stuck in boot loop with a Tmobile Galaxy S5 and the only screen I can see or get to is
"RECOVERY BOOTING..."
"RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING"
"Set Warranty Bit : recovery"
Am I fucked? is this salvageable? I can't get to pic related through any combination of button presses, unless I'm doing it wrong.
Do you have a micro SD in the phone rn? Take it out and button mash the fuck out of it, take out the battery. Basically you gotta fuck around with it, if nothing works, tough luck kiddo.
>>59813176
>i can't get into recovery
bullshit
hold volume down and power until you do
>>59813367
this is what I get, am I to only hold those two buttons, and ignore the home button?
Anyone know where I can pick up a pair of 90 degree GPU power cables? Like the 90 degree angle on SATA cables - just picked up a 1080ti, and while I knew it would be a problem, the cables going straight out of the board to the side panel get really crunched up and I'm worried about potential damage to the card.
Anyone?

Why would you ever build your own computer. I am looking at buying this gaming rig on amazon, but when I plugged the parts into PC Parts Picker, The parts value is over $3k if I built it myself. I save $1k buying it from someone else.

This is why you're retarded. You spent 30 minutes at most researching this shit.
What specs do you actually need? Why are you even looking at 2-3 year old hardware? Do you even know what the current generation of hardware is?
Do some fucking research
>>59813218

>US Dept of labor accuses Google of systemically paying their women less for the same job title
>>59813130
But its illegal to pay women less than men.
>>59813130
women are less productive in all job fields so it makes sense to pay them less
>>59813885
Exactly. Any kind of quotas for women or "minorities" (Whites are the actual minorities in the world) is nothing but discrimination.
If you can prove that there's discrimination based on race or gender you'll be compensated.
People in favor of quotas say that they're needed because of discrimination against women and "minorities", which can NEVER be proven, because if it could, they'd go to court and get free money as compensation.
That a white man is discriminated against when when someone is hired on a quota is however ALWAYS easy to prove.
