Why the fuck do you use Arch?

Is OS X open source? I've heard that the underlying operating system is an open source fork of BSD, but the graphical interface and preloaded programs are proprietary.
>>59827591
Correct on all counts
Kernel source : https://github.com/opensource-apple/xnu

Looks like the actual project that keeps the code for most of OS X is called Darwin. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darwin_(operating_system)
Looks like Apple is required by licensing law to keep realeasing new code under this project. Does anyone here use Darwin (and not OS X)?
Why isn't there a Darwin based OS? Probably too busy building YET ANOTHER DESKTOP ENVIRONMENT or maybe ANOTHER NEW DISPLAY SERVER for another SHITTY OS. The Linux kernel is shit, Darwin already POWERS THE MOST AMAZING OS IN THE WORLD. I'm sure it can run web servers just fine. OPEN YOUR EYES DEVELOPERS. Linux to be fucking cancelled already. fucking bullshit.
Has google finally overstepped its boundaries?
How can you divorce yourself completely from this monster? I'm still tied to google drive and gmail for a lot of work related items

Why would you need a fact check? Facts, per definition, can't be wrong.

I use it most to listen to podcasts (spoken word).
Sometimes some classical or jazz. Maybe on ot Linn streams.
I wrap my wires up in other wires, so any escaping sound still travels up to my ear.
The whole set up cost me $15,000.
My magic rocks should be in the post soon.

NICE DISTRO, RED HAT
Clearly the problem is Netflix erroneously trying to use Silverlight rather than any actual problem with Fedora.
Clearly they didn't tip enough.
>>59827186
Netflix uses proprietary closed source software, and won't allow you to view videos over a VPN. At least amazon prime video works on linux by default and allows you to access them from VPNs. Netflix doesn't even pretend to respect your privacy.
I have a W10 computer I must use, so what do I do do protect myself?

This is a thread to share with other /g/ lurkers and posters what little gemstones you've found over the years that improves your computer's quality of life.
Feel free to share such obvious ones like CCleaner and other not so obvious ones like Diskeeper!

Im an electrical engineer who's kinda wanting to break into the more higher level programming stuff.
I have an extremely good understanding of mathematics and my current job involves writing code for microprocessors but that shits usually balls to the metal C.
I wanna learn how to make software thats closer to the frontend and is basically usable by humans. Also if i ever wanted to get a job as a software engineer what kind of things would i need to learn to close the gap with CS degree people
