I recently got updates for Windows 10 on my xps13 which caused my WiFi to fail. Microsoft support fuckers told me to connect the computer to the WiFi, and failed to understand that I could no longer connect to WiFi anyway
I fucking hate Microsoft and their windows 10 bullshit
>>59846661

I just spent a whole new ryzen setup for 865 euro. Atm i cant even afford a 1080p monitor and stuck with a 720p syncmaster.
Did i do good /g/?
>>59846086
Hello sir, this is a customer survey. Could you please to explain why you bought this Ryzen instead of the Intel performance CPU? It is an important information. Thanking you in advance sir.
>>59846086
Intel processors are optimized for 720p gaming, you should have bought an optimized Intel processor for 720p gaming since Intel beats the competition in 720 gaming.
>>59846086
There no point in upgrade if you using shitty 720p fag, just stick a new GPU

Does /g/ use a sound card?
If so, what do you use, and how do you like it compared to stock audio, Realtek?
I had a Creative soundcard a while back, and I gave it away to a friend who needed a computer built. Forgot how good it sounded when it was all set up and done, and now I'm thinking about getting another.
Thoughts?
>>59845432
sidenote: running through an old Yamaha receiver, RX-V592. Decent enough for me, then Polk speakers. Sennheiser HD280's for headphones.
whats a sound card?

This pls answer op
is this the power of nvidia? is nvidia sabotaging ryzen?
It's almost as if they actually are
>>59844662
Are these real benchmarks, or photoshopped?
Good thing I'm not planning to go with Nvidia next build, but RX 480/580/570.
>>59844680
it certainly looks that way doesn't it?
/pcbg/: Post your component list; rate other anons'; ask questions in general.
State the PURPOSE of your PC, BUDGET. State COUNTRY if not USA.
List which GAMES/SOFTWARE you use often. List resolution & hz if gaming.
Seeking build improvements? Clarify if goal is to lower price or improve specs.
Put effort into your queries to make yourself easy to help.

Currently worthwhile CPUs:
>G4560 for budget builds (<$500) unless G4620/i3 is discounted over 25%
>i3 aren't worthwhile, unless for single threaded tasks. e.g. dwarf fortress & emulators
>i5 aren't worthwhile. Get Ryzen 5, drop down to G4560, or up to i7
>i7-7700k is good but pricey. If over budget, consider 6700k and/or a locked motherboard + cheaper cooler; not chasing 4.8Ghz capable when you weren't gonna overclock - or get Ryzen 5/7
>R7 for compute/multitask/mixed use
Currently worthwhile GFX cards:
>RX470, RX480 8GB, R9 Fury, 1070, 1080, 1080TI
>1060 is worth considering over a 480 if same/cheaper in your country, or you just play games it's better on for the price. 1050Ti is for mITX builds
>Budget builds: consider integrated graphics over any card weaker than an RX470, unless another's price/performance is better (ie discounted/used)
>RX500 comes April 18th. Vega in May
General:
>Don't feel bound to a specific brand/model. Parametric filters on pcpartpicker can help here
>Consider SSD only for what you budgeted on SSD+HDD combined. Add HDD later once needed
>NVMe aren't worth it just for faster OS boot. They're primarily for quicker loading/saving of files for productivity
>Save money with mATX case/mobo, and if patient by purchasing your parts individually in flash sales

so, this is the current state of windows 10?
>no way to change process priority
>need a third party program to leave the cpu at 0%
>>59843712
You can, it's just that that app's developer made a shitton of bots to give fake positive reviews, and anyone who buys it unironically is too stupid to change it themself.

SSD vs HDD thread
cause why no
>>59842257
don't fall for the ssd jew
HDD's are better because the rotational readin pattern allows the computer to read faster off of the platter
Plus HDD's have better durability than shitty SSD's
>>59842315
Literal fucking bait. My computer got 2 times faster after I bought my SSD.

>Is it bad for your headphones to have them at full volume for extended periods of time?
Not unless you give them too much power and either fry the voice coil or run into driver excursion limits. Audibly loud volume isn't a good way to tell. Excursion limits will cause audible distortion and voice coil fries in an instant once its thermal limit is exceeded. Better check what manufacturer specifies as their maximum power limit and compare that to what your amp can deliver. 'Full power' varies a lot as do headphone power handling. If nothing has happened so far, you need not to worry. You aren't wearing them out.
As far as the real world is concerned, high-end audio lost its credibility during the 1980s, when it flatly refused to submit to the kind of basic honesty controls (double-blind testing, for example) that had legitimized every other serious scientific endeavor since Pascal. This refusal is a source of endless derisive amusement among rational people and of perpetual embarrassment for me.
>>59842250
>
I've always seen high-end audio is the laughing stock of the industry.
What does /g/ think about Pico 8?
Its a virtual 8 bit game console with all the restrictions that 8 bit implies but its main programming language is lua
>>59841770
>virtual 8 bit game console
why
also lua can be 8 bit?
it's shit
>>59841770
It would be interesting if there were hardware. Putting artificial limitations on a VM sounds lame.
