I love this company so fucking much.
The global breadth and ubiquity of Microsoft creates tremendous opportunity to fundamentally improve the lives of billions worldwide. The never ending pursuit of world-changing software and technology.
From Xbox to Windows Phone to Cloud and Enterprise to Office, Bing and oh-so-much-more, you will never get bored because of the enormous variety of products and projects you can own and the wide array of people and enterprises they power.
+1 if you love Microsoft!

Will we be able to use technology to tap into the unused 90% of the brain?

The whole not using 90% of your brain is a meme myth. Stop this nonsense.

Why is configuration for this so difficult? I have 475 packages and still hardly anything works; I have to manually enable my network connection every startup, I have to manually start xfce, firefox smooth scrolling looks like shit, changing the size of the post box on 4chan tears like crazy, none of my external drives work when I plug them in even though they show up in fdisk and have worked even on Debian, the previous shittiest distro I tried, the font rendering is shit, and Japanese characters all show up as 桃
I honestly don't even know where to start first, or how to check and see if I fucked something up. Are you supposed to just keep reinstalling over and over again until you can do it quickly so when something fucks up or isn't working right it will be a quick fix to just reinstall completely?
>>59907431
So regarding the font-rendering. Everybody always says the default one is garbage, but I cant remember installing anything to improve it, and waht I'm seeing really isnt that bad.
Am i just accustomed to the bad font-rendering so that I dont notice it, or is there some hidden magic going on on my arch-distro?
How can I know if my font-rendering is shit?
btw for Network-stuff u can just use Networkmanager or write urself a daemon that automatically enables stuff on boot, firefox works perfectly on mine, i3-gaps gets autostarted in my .xinitrc and all 4 of my external drives with encryption work perfectly. Dont use ching-chong characters tho so I cant say anything on that note

Smooth scrolling inherently looks like shit, that's why you turn it off.
Anyway your mistake was installing a timesink distro when you didn't want a timesink. If you aren't interested in spending an hour each on all these problems figuring out how they work, you should just go use some other distro. Not Gentoo, because Gentoo is the same way.
Weather forecast is technology. What forecast does /g/ use?
Pic related, this is mine weather widget.
>>59907267
Which widget is this? Is there an English version? Can it be used for US weather? I like the meteogram style. Is there an iPhone version?
I've been using Weather Channel + Radarscope + Deep Weather on my iPhone.
>>59907352
Ah, found it; GPSMeteo. Unfortunately for me, it only covers the eastern half of Europe, which won't work for me here in the States. Still, it's a nice-looking app.
>>59907569
Huh, found a decent replacement: meteoblue. Not as compact as OP's, but pretty nice nonetheless, and free (with minor ads).
Users of computers who intentionally block security updates and get infected with a botnet, should be held legally responsible for all traffic coming from their IP address.

Hello anons,
I have recently observed a phenomenon in the Linux world, that is, dare I say, quite interesting.
Two years ago, I moved to Fedora in hopes of getting a better, simpler developing experience for me as a future CS student. Somehow, I got it. Some weeks later, however, I woke up with my camera on. I simply reinstalled and tried browsing more "intelligently", so to speak.
Few months later, I notice a highly shared Ars Technica article that said a lot of good stuff about Fedora. I started noticing a lot of people shilling on 4chan and other sites for Fedora. "Seems like I might be one of those smart guys, eh?"
However, as a weird coincidence, Ubuntu started having issues. This means only one thing: Fedora will shine to the top.
This is CLEARLY a plot.
I moved to openSUSE Leap. Nice and comfy, best KDE experience. AppArmor, no NSA.
>>59906950
Red hat are friends with NSA, fedora is based on red hat.
Do the math.
>>59907076
Doesn't Linus use Fedora? Do you think he's compromised?
>>59907107
Nah, Linus doesn't care.
You can google about Linus and NSA and you'll find some stuff like
>NSA asked Linus Torvalds to install backdoor in linux
Linus says he refused and I believe him. I don't think he has any interest in compromising his name and life work (if someone finds out...).
Parents aren't eligible for Common Sense 2017 and I'm getting tired of cleaning up their shit every weekend. We use Kaspersky enterprise at work, but not really sure what's good these days for a home solution.
ESET was great a few years ago but I've heard they're shit now.
Windows Defender
It doesn't matter since your parents are tech illiterate and will manage to install malware anyway. The best would be to distribution of GNU/Linux since it's near impossible even for an idiot to get it infected. I'd recommend Debian since the packages, like your parents, are ancient which minimizes the risk of an update bricking the system completely.
