Currently worthwhile CPUs:
>G4560 for budget builds (<$500) unless G4620/i3-6100 is heavily discounted
>i3 & i5 aren't worthwhile. Get Ryzen 5, drop down to G4560, or up to i7
>No R5 1400 unless discounted
>i7-7700k is good but pricey. If over budget: consider locked 7700; not chasing 4.8Ghz+ capable when you weren't gonna overclock, or get R5
>Cheap Z270 board is still good for faster memory in games w/ locked 7700, but aren't for overclocking (VRMs suck)
>R7/Xeon for compute/multitask/mixed use
Currently worthwhile GFX cards:
>RX470 8GB, RX480 8GB, 1070, 1080, 1080TI
>1060 is worth considering over a 480 if same/cheaper in your country, or you just play games it's better on for the price. 1050Ti is for mITX builds
>Be mindful of mixing NVidia w/ Ryzen for DX12/Vulkan, currently

I bought a Thinkpad x240 and put an Crucial MX300 SSD into it. After installing Win10 and Linux in dualboot i get a grub rescue prompt.
I have to reboot and than i get the normal grub menu.
Only everytime i boot windows 10 i get the grub rescue prompt. Rebooting Linux will do without problems.

The grub has a windows entry. But grub will only boot into grub rescue mode after i used the windows 10 install. When i reboot after getting the grub rescue, grub will work normally

We have a massive number of /generals/.
We have a constant stream of non technology-related threads that are not removed.
We always have several duplicate threads running (most notably, as of late, the new processors/graphics cards).

i (strongly) prefer python over ruby but i wouldn't say ruby is killed. virtually every language in existence has some use case where a person could reasonably argue for its existence. maybe it's useless to you (it certainly is useless or nearly useless to me), but lots of other people still use it and they're not retarded or crazy or anything for it.
