I just had Nougat pushed to my android, with its new settings menu.
My volume buttons now adjust ringer volume. This is awful. How can I change it back to media? I can't find the option in the new settings menu.
pls respond
If you are using media, it adjust media volume. You can always use the right down arrow when you press the volume key to see every volume setting
>>59951824
this. i've had this on my samshill forever and honestly it's annoying as shit because I only use vibration.
>>59951824
Granted, but I have no reason to be constantly changing the ringer volume either. I'd much prefer to always adjust media with my buttons. Sometimes I want to reduce volume from 100% before I start playing something, y'know?
Irritating as hell that this feature that I consider vital was removed in this 'update'.

So from what I understand, after a certain amount, the cache size has diminishing returns on performance, so is there really a reason to buy a 1500x over a 1400? 8Mb is already a large cache. I can't find any comparison online about correlations between cache size and performance.
>>59951518
You're dumb
>>59951572
*Your
retard.
The best deal in the Ryzen series is the 1600.
Cache sizes are only relevant for the engineers to worry about, the caches in the final products were sized specifically because they're the most efficient. They wouldn't waste die space if the cache didn't help.
Why can't we as a community come together instead of be at each others throats all the time?
>I'm noticing lately a sharp rise in the toxicity in various Linux communities
He has a point, and the Linux communities have always been toxic to one another. /g/ is a great example of this.
>It's OK to like different projects. Diversity is the life blood of Linux and free software. It's also OK to not like projects. But do we really *hate* projects?
While diversity is good, I think Linux should start becoming more uniform if it really wants some market share in the desktop market. It seems like GNOME will be the Linux desktop too since Ubuntu is now moving to it. Also Linus uses it as his DE.
>Hate is a wasteful emotion, and often provides nothing but tunnel vision and bad memories. Over time, vendettas form, and instead of providing any useful feedback, we default instead to leaving snarky comments and trying to deride the projects, eventually playing the victim card when we're called out.
Basically /g/ about anything.
>"SomeDistro's X is way better than OtherDistro's Y" - fine, so bridge the gap.
He brings up a great point. Instead of bitching about everything, why not improve everything?
>It's time to stop forming silos, and to embrace the diversity and beauty that is a collaborative free software world, that flourishes with so-called "coopertition". Consider wiping the slate clean, and reevaluate your approaches through fresh eyes.
I think it's time we all come together as a community and make Linux great (((again))).

I want to make abstract art programmtically. Shit that looks cool is the goal. How should I do this? What tools or algorithms?
>>59951375
Learn shaders. Learn maths. Have fun.
>>59951394
Don't want to do all that. Want to play connect the dots with DeepMind or something else that already exists.

>>59951372
In all seriousness though, why are there only 2 gpu companies?
>>59951427
Because dumb fags can't make themselves one
>>59951427
Because producing them is crazy expensive, requires a massive upfront investment, and the market just isn't that big to begin with.

fizzBuzz :: Integer -> String
fizzBuzz n | n `mod` 15 == 0 = "FizzBuzz"

1060 ON LIFE SUPPORT
>>59951070
How did you even get a rx580? Is it even out?
Am I under a rock?
every day I regret buying my 1060.
I bought it on a whim after my 280x suddenly died but the only research I did was benchmarks much older that had it beat 480 most of the time.
Not only is the 480 pulling ahead but the famous nvidia quality I was told about wasn't there at all..
For example I cannot use Chromium anymore because the 1060 and 1070 apparently have an issue without youtube that causes them to crash the browser if you seek ahead in videos unless you turn off hardware acceleration.
I couldn't even believe this shit when I read up on it.
I'm honestly never buying nvidia again, it's not worth it.

ayyymd poojeet shills from redteam+ have perks
Anyone else leave their PC running, maybe have tabs with flash videos or youtube open, maybe a flash stream (often do this for TV)
And after a while its fucking unusable without restarting the browser?
Despite having plenty memory, even if I close the tabs, it stays fucked. Only solution is closing FF entirely.
Edge does not do this, it can have a tab with a flash video stream running for days and not begin to stutter.
Is this normal?
