Why doesn't everyone write everything in C?
>>59970538
im also wondering why everyone doesn't code directly in Assembly or even machine language...

Can someone explain what happened in this pic?
tried to pull the cooler off a PGA chip.

I would love to slide my finger over it. Hmmmmm

probably hardware debugging of some huge FPGA array for ASIC sim. For this purpose enameled copper wire was soldered to the pads of an FPGA so it's easier to get to some signal(s) they want to investigate.
Thanks to my uni I can download a windows 8.1 embedded version, do I make the switch to escape the botnet? Have in mind that I need to play my gaymen to not kill myself and that I dual boot with opensuse so I can get actual work done.

Im using 7 embedded and it's pretty sweet anon, you can customise it a lot during install to remove features you dont want and its basically a slimlined windows 7. I figure 8.1 has the same options, if you dont do any extra stuff at install it'll just be like normal windows 8.1
Humble Bundle has a collection of python books by No Starch Press available for the next 2 hours. Anyone read these? Are they worth it?
There's pretty great Python courses on EdX or Coursera. Never really read any books on it though. Sorry, mate.
>>59970333
I bought the books, there are a couple of teach your kids python but I really like the Doing math with python book and it's only $1.

It's a proprietary operating system after all and this is the best you can do.

Just proxy your RAM past the mainframe and they can't track you as you penetrate the dark layer of the HTTP system
Ok, so I'm planning on making a 2D smash clone.
So far I'm planning on the code architecture of the engine.
Pls rate pic related.

What is missing?
I know i need to code, but is just the brainstorming stage.
Did y'all know that firefox has hardware acceleration and multi process acceleration disabled by default?
just go to your about:config and change these values
How to enable hardware acceleration
(https://wiki.mozilla.org/Blocklisting/Blocked_Graphics_Drivers#On_X11)
webgl.force-enabled=true.
webgl.msaa-force=true.
layers.acceleration.force-enabled=true.
How to enable electrolysis multi-process acceleration
(https://wiki.mozilla.org/Electrolysis)
browser.tabs.remote.autostart=true
extensions.e10sBlockedByAddons=false
extensions.e10sBlocksEnabling=false
browser.tabs.remote.force-enable=true
dom.ipc.processCount=...
This controls how many tabs get to use their own process. By default it's set to 1, meaning there's just one process that all tabs will have to share. If you increase the value, more tabs can run by themselves, but memory use for Firefox starts to explode (but only when tabs are actually open).
Not joking after enabling these things it's made my browser like 5x faster

Did y'all know Chrome does all this shit by default and you don't have to fuck with it?

Are surround sound gaming headphones a meme? Or does it really actually make a big difference?
>>>/sqt/
Gaiming headphones are trash-tier, you pay for leds and brand. Get serious headphones like sennheiser/akg/sony/whatever and slap a microphone on them.
The real meme is surround sound via more than 2 speakers. You can perfectly emulate surround sound with 2, but they want to make moar money by selling moar speakers.
do you use the watchlist?
or you just fly tabbed?
tabbed
I only reply once per thread.

yes
I'm gonna install Gentoo. Not ironically, I think it'll be a good project to help me get a more thorough understanding of how my computer works.
I've got a medium amount of tech knowledge (comfortable with TUIs, messed with microprocessors, etc.) and an old desktop I put together ten years ago. (core2 6800, 4g ram, nvidia 9800)
My only question: How long should I set aside for this?
Or should I do LFS?
