There you go my future kids (if any).
do you have to use flags when parsing a programming language?
I guess you do
>//currently, no ability to differentiate between "var = -7" & "var = 7 - 7" without flags.
What the fuck are you on about? What flags?
what?
-7 is -7
7 - 7 is 0
>>62268460
i'm talking about when parsing...
-7 is a value
7 - 7 the minus is an operator.
I'm trying to generalize a programming language.

[[][[]]+[]][+[]][++[+[]][+[]]]
This evaluates to "n" in javascript. Why?
Let's start with an empty array
[]
Now, let's access a member of it.
[][]
What member? Let's check for the empty array member
[][[]]
oh, that is undefined. But if we add an empty array to that, it is casted to the string "undefined"
[][[]]+[]
Let us wrap that in an array
[[][[]]+[]]
We can now try to access letters in that string. First, we must unwrap the string. That can be done by accessing the first element of that array.
[[][[]]+[]][0]
0 can be created by casting an empty array to a number:
[[][[]]+[]][+[]]
Now, "n" is the second letter in that string, so we would like to access that:
[[][[]]+[]][+[]][1]
But how can we write 1? Well, we increment 0, of course. Wrap 0 in an array, and increment the first member of it:
++[0][0]
Like before, this is equivalent to
++[+[]][+[]]
So our final code is then the glorious
[[][[]]+[]][+[]][++[+[]][+[]]]
ok
No one fucking cares because no one would write that in the first place.

I'm noticing a recurring problem with a lot of software repositories where their versions are outdated like 90%.
Why don't people update the dang versions in their repositories?
Am I just gonna have to build everything from source?
Install Arch
They don't expect anyone to actually use their shit, it's just material for your CV
>>62268134
Which repos are you looking at? Some repos prefer "stability".

i don't care about 4k i just care about having good fps. i play on 1080p but my monitor can go up to 1440p but it was blacking out on that.
>>62268010
back in the old days everyone always said the gpu is the most important to make games run smooth. now it seems the trend is everyone says all these games are cpu based so i dont know what to think anymore.

What would a fully encrypted or anonymous internet be like? What would you do with your freedom?
I'm guessing there would be a lot of crime or cyber war since there wouldnt be any way to prove who did what. Filesharing would also be on fire, but with even more viruses and botnet acting as a filter for people too stupid to be doing it.

I need some simple programming problems for kids to learn. Something like calculate sum of numbers in array. It can be even not so simple problem, just as it does not have to use lists or objects.
Replace first character of each letter with something
Divide two numbers without using any divide function
Triangle number generator
Really including lists and objects are probably key to understanding OO principles

Hey /g/
Jew here. I just wanted to remind you guys that the average working Jew loves ThnkPads, hates Mac, and of course hates Federal Reserve Banking just as much as you goyim do.
Here is a great video by a Jewish YouTuber on why Lenovos are way better for portability than the lightest MacBook / trendy peace of shit out there.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4KgmK6aTQM
And here he is again talking about how ((( corporations ))) like Apple use spite to force planned obsolescence.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVAmnV65_zw&t=2546s
Something to remember is that the average "working jew", doesn't remember that Anti-Semitism refers to being against Semitic style usury programs being tied to Government.
And by that account, while I am a observant religious Jew, I am anti-Semitic. I don't want a private bank being propped up by my tax dollars. And neither do most Jews if they were to think about it.
What I do like is good competition so things like ThnkPad's, Sennheisers and other great functional devices can compete against uniformed garbage like Mac / iPhone.
Anyhow, just wanted to put this out there. I realize all the "Happy Merchant" memes are all in good fun, but wanted to remind you guys that there are real actual Jews out here.
I'm also Jewish and yes, I like Thinkpads. They're cheap, robust and easily modifiable, and mine is compatible with Libreboot. Stallman is Jewish too. Then again, I didn't think /g/ was particularly antisemitic.
>>62265988
Of course they do. They are always tight with money and try to get the best deals, price-performance wise. Regular americans should learn from them.
back to /pol/ with you
