Hey can anyone explain this kernel panic to me? Was trying to create a new Ubuntu VM; wondering how to read these.

I experienced a kernel panic once before (on a physical machine) and it had to do with some kind of usb driver mix-up.

You sure your iso isn't corrupted?
Also preferably use nomodeset (google how to do this) because i do not think there are any GPU drivers for parallels

Ever been happy to fall for /g/ memes? Happened to me today:

>be me
>be teaching corny introductory linguistics class
>student presentations today
>first student gets up
>asks for marker
>i pick up and shuffle thru my bag looking for one
>in the commotion, I accidently push my 100% free as in freedumb GNU slash Linux ThinkPad X200 running Parabola GNU/Linux-libre
>it falls out of bag, knocking itself on the table
>it is catapulted to the floor, and official ThinkPad dock shoots off
>students all aghast in pity and empathy
>one girl swoons and faints
>everyone in room visibly shaken
>everyone except for me
>"yare yare daze" I say
>"It's a ThinkPad."
>pick it up reconnect dock without problem
>literally no damage from a ~5' fall
>students now in total disbelief and shock
>they can't believe this 8 year old laptop withstood the fall
>not even a scratch
>macfag students rip off their belts to commit suicide

Well /g/?

>some dude needs help with his homework
>3rd semester of Java (data structures)
>sit down and he shows me an online form where he has to submit snippets of code, starting from a base class given by the instructor
>shows me his IDE
>the code is completely red from having compiler errors
>tell him he needs to fix it
>"no, it doesn't matter because I'm just submitting snippets"
>finally convince him to fix it because how the hell is he gonna know if he works
>too fucked up to fix, so we start a new project completely
>tell him to write a method
>writes 'public methodName();'
>looks at me
>we're not even writing a constructor
>tell him to fix it so it returns the asked data type and has a body
>'public methodName(String)[]
>looks at me
>this goes on for everything, I practically have to write the code for him
>talking down to him somewhat, asking what the hell is his reasoning
>feel kinda bad at how mean I was to him

>later that night talking with friend and bring up his race
>friend in 3rd semester Java at same school starts going on a rant about two Indian dudes in the back of his class
>all they do is watch anime with headphones in
>anime is so loud everyone in the class can hear it

I've come to realize after 2 semesters that the worst coders are Indians. I thought you guys were just racist.

I have a hard time believing anything that goes viral on Youtube (and lots of things that don't.) For years it has been one of the biggest purveyors of propaganda online. Because it appears to be "candid" amateur video, people believe whatever it shows. With this "reenactment" shit, nothing should be believed.
