Which degree is better for software engineering jobs, Mathematics with a CS minor or CS with a Mathematics minor?

What about entering the field of AI research? Would it better to get a master's in Math or CS?

How the fuck is this possible? I mean, I understand it's either a recruiter or HR doing this shit, but still, even though you can apply regardless, the resume will be discarded as soon as they see you have none of that kind of experience.

I've been building, repairing, and working with computers on my own time for family, friends, and even randoms, from Data Recovery to Complete System Building + Networking.

I mention this in my resume, and even over the phone, but "Sorry, you need to know Active Directory or MS Server 200X and have 15-20 years of experience"

I've been looking for an entry level job for over 2 years now. I look at least twice a week on multiple websites and write down how many / for what position / what website each time I do this. I have literally sent over 200 applications.

I've had my resume reviewed by friendshigher up in IT, including Sr. Dev Ops , CTO, and Sr. Network / Sr. Security Admins. All gave me harsh critiques, but I have fixed the problems, still send my resume in, and still, NOTHING.

I LIVE IN NYC TO TOP IT ALL OFF. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF OPENINGS. WHY IS IT TAKING THIS LONG. I WANT TO GET OUT OF RETAIL AND BECOME A SALARYKEK.

Closed source is better because anyone who has worked on highly complicated code knows that as soon as you start letting amateurs fuck with your code, it makes your life harder. Good projects are complicated beyond anything most of us could possibly contribute to, so why bother to make it open source?

It's closed source because they want it to work. It's not closed source because of some massive conspiracy. It's not close source so the dev can sell it via patreon. It's not closed source because he stole code from someone.

Good projects are closed source because they are complicated beyond what most people could possibly contribute to, and opening it up to everyone with a computer to contribute to is only going to make it worse, not better.

I know that nobody understands this, or wants to understand it, because it's the giant circlejerk that the dev is hiding something, but he's not. I know none of you will apologize when someday, as promised, the code is actually opened up and everyone sees that there's nothing to hide.

What would you call the kind of motion blur you see in this image, and what causes it?

This is how my cable TV looks. I've had them replace the box, which doesn't fix it, and if I pause it when one of the artifacts appears and switch the box to a different TV, the blur is still there, which tells me it isn't my TV/amp. And watching the same program on a media center has no artifact at all.

Cable company doesn't know what's causing it, but it makes TV damn near unwatchable. Any idea what's making it happen, so I can either tell them how to fix it, or just say fuck em?
