Which degree is better for software engineering jobs, Mathematics with a CS minor or CS with a Mathematics minor?
What about entering the field of AI research? Would it better to get a master's in Math or CS?
>>60087611

>>60087611
Go for a Master's in Software Engineering and a minor in CS desu~
>>60087642
Why should I get a Master's in Software Engineering compared to a bachelor's? How much difference is there between a software engineer degree?
Not looking for detailed analysis, just asking why you chose to say that.
>get A+ cert
>looking for new job
>"this entry level position requires 3-5 years of experience in Level 1 Help Desk"
How the fuck is this possible? I mean, I understand it's either a recruiter or HR doing this shit, but still, even though you can apply regardless, the resume will be discarded as soon as they see you have none of that kind of experience.
I've been building, repairing, and working with computers on my own time for family, friends, and even randoms, from Data Recovery to Complete System Building + Networking.
I mention this in my resume, and even over the phone, but "Sorry, you need to know Active Directory or MS Server 200X and have 15-20 years of experience"
I've been looking for an entry level job for over 2 years now. I look at least twice a week on multiple websites and write down how many / for what position / what website each time I do this. I have literally sent over 200 applications.
I've had my resume reviewed by friendshigher up in IT, including Sr. Dev Ops , CTO, and Sr. Network / Sr. Security Admins. All gave me harsh critiques, but I have fixed the problems, still send my resume in, and still, NOTHING.
I LIVE IN NYC TO TOP IT ALL OFF. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF OPENINGS. WHY IS IT TAKING THIS LONG. I WANT TO GET OUT OF RETAIL AND BECOME A SALARYKEK.
Sorry, that ship has sailed.
If you're not a H1B visa holder, they want nothing to do with you.
You'll be asking for benefits and they're legally allowed to not pay H1Bs benefits until after 4 years of employment, at which point they are fired and deported.
>>60087596
why would someone post a job opening in nyc that requires travel sometimes if theyll just give it to a fucking indian?
>>60087628
Because they're required to perform a "good faith" attempt at finding a domestic worker to fill the position.
Even if you were to qualify for their insane standards, they'll either waste your time at the interview, never contact you, or lead you on for months only to turn you down because they already got their pajeet ready.

Perfectly moral. Dumb people are born to get fucked.

Do you need to know anything to be a low level pen tester?
>Simple scripting language that you can edit in a simple text editor like notepad
>Watch the multicoloured LED go!
>Spends the next 5 minutes mumbling on about nothing
>If I use the word "attack" alot, I must know what im doing
>hack is spelt "hak"
>Comments section is a circle jerk of edgy kids. One had an orgasm over a script using ".txt" extension, clearly showing he can't even use python
>This video feels like it's trying to be edgy
I know jack about Penetration testing but I agree, it feels like its going for the script kiddies who have access to mommy's card. I gave up after 5 minutes, anyways, i could no longer hear the guy over his shirt. The fact the girls face is as flat as her chest was bothering me too.
If you've got a bitch to please my penis as I watch, atleast get someone hotter. Otherwise, shes literally useless.
Just a reminder that we're gonna see something similar to this effect soon by one of the Big 3
It'll be hilarious.

Oh my god, here we go again. I hate "open-sores" faggots
Closed source is better because anyone who has worked on highly complicated code knows that as soon as you start letting amateurs fuck with your code, it makes your life harder. Good projects are complicated beyond anything most of us could possibly contribute to, so why bother to make it open source?
It's closed source because they want it to work. It's not closed source because of some massive conspiracy. It's not close source so the dev can sell it via patreon. It's not closed source because he stole code from someone.
Good projects are closed source because they are complicated beyond what most people could possibly contribute to, and opening it up to everyone with a computer to contribute to is only going to make it worse, not better.
I know that nobody understands this, or wants to understand it, because it's the giant circlejerk that the dev is hiding something, but he's not. I know none of you will apologize when someday, as promised, the code is actually opened up and everyone sees that there's nothing to hide.

Nice blog, go read a book.
>>60087299
So your code isn't nefarious, it's just shitty code. Are you from India?
>>60087299
Please tell me you have a blog or something, I want to hear more about your philosophy.
Post yout homescreens ITT

I was trying to explain to someone what a firewall does and then I got to ports and then I realized I have no idea how to explain it.
How do you explain what a port is to someone who knows very little about computers?
>>60087227
ports are like phone line extensions or individual numbers for flats in a flat block, they tell you which individual place to go to once you get to a singular number or address that may represent many people
>>60087317
I guess that's a good analogy but it doesn't explain why you need them
Imagine a wall with thousands of doors.
Each of these doors can only have a single person behind them, and are otherwise closed.
The programs that want to send messages to the Internet either go to those doors directly to send and/or recieve messages, or they have to pass through a police officer, that will check who is sending/waiting for a message, where it came from, where it's going to, what door it's passed trough... and he has the power to tell them to go ahead, stop them, or move them to another port.
The doors are ports, and the officer is the firewall.

Apple simply cannot compete with Samsung.
What would you call the kind of motion blur you see in this image, and what causes it?
This is how my cable TV looks. I've had them replace the box, which doesn't fix it, and if I pause it when one of the artifacts appears and switch the box to a different TV, the blur is still there, which tells me it isn't my TV/amp. And watching the same program on a media center has no artifact at all.
Cable company doesn't know what's causing it, but it makes TV damn near unwatchable. Any idea what's making it happen, so I can either tell them how to fix it, or just say fuck em?
>>60086924
just dont watch TV you fucking retard
>>60086924
In that gif it's just shitty compression. They use webm now for a reason.
>>60086924
that in the image seems to be a mix of
- compression artefacts
- the fact that GIF only supports one set of 256 colors within an image, maybe related: shitty algorithm for dithering
what would cause that on a TV, idk
>the botnet has eyes now
why would anyone even?
>>60087122
You put this always-on camera in your bedroom and it helps you pick your outfit. What could go wrong?
>>60087186
Forget what could go wrong, what could go right? It picks outfits for you? Who the hell would trust that? That's even botnetting your outfits. If it picks right, you're not picking your style, you're conforming...
