So I stole a load of miscellaneous laptop ram from my work place. And I'm trying to use some of it to upgrade my laptop, just cus.
The issue is there's no information that I can find that will tell me what ram is compatible with the motherboard.
Model: asus f555ya-xo047t
All stock and standard but I cannot for the life of me find the necessary info to figure out if I can put new ram in it.

the key is that you want "ddr3". laptop uses smaller ram so all those red ones or long ones do not work for laptops.
good news is that the difference between ddr3 and older memory (aka ddr2) would be the location of the gap between the gold connection plates.
I do not know how yo describe it but if you take out your laptop ram, just compare that to your pile. If they look the same, they work.

Best intel cpu for a primarily gaming computer but also for someone with interests in animating and game making. Not necessarily fussed with cost but would like to be enlightened to what is good and what is better.

sandy at 3ghz is slow. 1080p 60fps medium-low with dips. modern shadows/lighting will hurt that old 4t. fine for media and shitposting.
