Is moore’s law an observation that computer processing power doubles every two years just a fucking meme?
I clearly remember when i was 14 years old in 2012 when i had a cheap Laptop, i clearly remember the specs it had a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650, and a Phenom II X4 N930 CPU
I clearly remember my laptop was released in 2010, but in 2012 the LAPTOP was cheap and i decided to buy it with my extra pocket money
Now this laptop wasnt that great at all, but i clearly remember playing games such as dota 2 on medium to high settings without and lag i was getting around 40-60 FPS in that game back then.
i also clearly remember playing battlefield 3 with no issues, 30-60 fps on medium settings
so today my sister bought a laptop which on paper has slightly better performance than my old laptop from 2010 i dont even want to get into the discussion of bench marking each individual cpu and gpu nonsense
but ive discovered that technology its self is being held back by something for example theres theres high end, mid range and low end
but its almost as if the mid range and low end products are just repackaged from the previous year with no performance increase
this goes for sell phones, laptops heck even cars
shouldnt a mid range cellphone from 2017 be better than a 2015 mid range cell phone?
nope some mid range phones from 2015 are better than the ones being released today
so if technology is growing faster than we can keep up, why isnt it ready and cheaper as each generation comes out?

I'm old
What does /g/ think about Makerbuino? I got one from my friend and I'm enjoying it. Is there anything else like this that I could get?

Because we all know smartphones are the most secure devices ever huh?
I like the style tags you can create, but I want a middle ground between word processor and LaTeX so I can do basic things and custom formatting as well.
>>60106851
Just write in HTML and assign a class or id to shit you want to style.
wow. that was soo hard.
Use Lyx. It's latex for people who hate latex.
>>60106851
I'm going to write a phone number slider and see how granular it really is.
What is the best smart bulb?
botnet
I too enjoy microphones connecting to the IoT to record my fapping. Good day, friend!
>>60106692
Smart bulbs are dumb, smart light switches and power plugs are where it's at.
Why does everyone hate Bing? Sure, they track you, but who doesn't. And unlike Google, Bing literally pays you to use it.
>>60106572
Do they pay you to shill for it too?
apparently, not even microsoft employees use it, they resort to using google to search MSDN docs because bing is so shit
searx doesn't track me.

those keycaps would look a whole lot better if it wasn't for those ugly colors.
Do you think the Level1Techs crew browses /g/?
>>60106386
This place attracts those with autism... so yes.
Yeah for sure.
2 threads on Wendell's channel on /g/ and none of them have replies
I'm glad that Wendell has other things going for him because his channel will never take off. It just isn't very entertaining. It's like the tech version of NPR. A few people watch/listen but the vast majority of people just don't have the attention span.
What does /g/ think of this?
I don't care, I have had more tabs open at once.
I think this thread is fucking stupid, and wonder what thread died so this unfunny piece of shit could exist.
I think phoneposters should be banned.
does anything like this exist in the real world?
Just start vaping, dude.
what is it?
Just fucking quit dude.
Lost audio on my desktop.
I normally use speakers and headphones as default playback devices, but all my sound suddenly went out and now there is no recognized playback device (all listed as unplugged).
I think I may have broken my onboard sound, do I need to get a sound card? And if so, what's a cheap sound card I should get?
>>60106184
get a cheapo usb one
>>60106184
If you're just replacing the one on the motherboard whatever cheap shit will have the same quality, internal or external (usb) doesn't matter
If you want a step up in quality buy an internal creative or asus for around 40$. Anything more than that doesn't matter unless you've got expensive/5.1 speakers
>>60106378
>step up in quality
How do you guys like the new GBoard™ update from our good friends at Google? :^)
>>60106145
:^)
Honestly though, I feel like if something's changed needlessly, they might as well leave the old form as a preference for at least a year worth of updates. Would an extra menu button really be that much of a hassle?
In 2017, knowing what we know about Android, only an absolute idiot would use it.
Would a massively multi core processor built on a modern process using an old 8 bit architecture like the MOS 6502 or the Zilog Z80 be useful for anything? Considering some GPUs have over 15 billion transistors, you would be able to fit 4,358,974 MOS 6502 cores or 1,800,000 Zilog Z80 cores on the same chip. Surely this would have to be good for something.
if you have a specific task in mind that involves the manipulation of shit tons of small 8-bit values that can be parallelized, sure
Your question is stupid. Your bottleneck would be memory latency, if you could use 8bit accuracy for anything useful.
>>60106131
I've thought about that before too. Clearly the MOS would be better.
I bet it would parallelize really well, but I don't have much experience with parallel algorithms.
Your main issue will be the fact that each 6502 can only reference up to 64K mem, and you'll have to find a way to implement some form of mutual exclusion on the memory. At that point, the maximum performance you could possibly achieve would be limited by 65336 processors.
tl;dr shared memory, no. each memory for a MOS, sure, let's talk.
So everybody says G2A is a shitty site that sells stolen keys. I don't have any stolen keys, but I do have free keys from Twitch Prime that I have no intention of using. Are these worth anything? (Supply must be huge, so probably not much, but even a buck?)
I'm sure I'm a horrible human being who deserves the gas chamber etc., but as a selfish fuck, is this something I should look at anyway? Or do they not sell loot keys?
Maybe I should have posted this in /vg/. On second thought, I definitely should have. My mistake.
No developer can order you what to do with they key. EU and US law have a stance on this not what some shitty developer write in his ToS or EULA
And what you just said you are the 99,9% of sellers on G2A that have some spare key and would like to have few bucks to use on something else
G2A is basically eBay for CD keys. Check what the price for a game is, put it 1-2 cents lower for your key and wait. Also, devs hate G2A because these lazy fucks can't use better fraud detection/decent payment portals on their own stores. It is acceptable to sell your spare keys on G2A.
