I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

How do you guys dust your PC or when cleaning other people's computers?

I buy cans of compressed air, but they're really expensive. Are the canless air compressors (the ones that are powered) worth the money?

i take the box outside, put a somewhat high powered fan blowing at the inside, and brush everything with a badger hair paintbrush
>>
They're if you do it more than a few times a year.
>>
Don't even think about buying the shitty small compressor

Barely blow anything, and they're loud fire hazards (like AMD)

Just keep buying compressed air in cans, and make sure you use a lot, there's no better alternative and you'd be stupid for not buying a few good cans of Uline air

So pls don't be a dumbass OP, you're already doing the right thing

I want to become Super-anonymous!

1. How do I go completely anonymous online? As in, not share my real IP address? buy a vpn? are the vpns truly trustable?

2. Is TOR compromised? Enough to never be trusted again?

3. What else can I use / do to visit normie websites but stay anonymous?

4. What can I use / do to visit dark-web? [Nah, i don't want to buy drugs or 3d-lolies, just want to look or info relating to ayy lmaos for a literary project]

5. what are some other innovative ways of sharing data online? i know of torrent. Ares / limewire used to be a thing in my childhood. what else is new?

6. Do specific OS's matter in anonymity? I'll even consider installing gentoo.

It's over. They're watching you by satellite. The rest of your life will be feeling guilty for the things you did while each person in your town comes together to teach you how to be a "decent person"

It happened to most of us. That's why this isn't popular anymore. It happened to me. It's gang stalking, but the government wants it. They just want us all to stop looking what they don't like.

I'm going to work abroad for half a year and I would like to have a relatively powerful PC with me. Besides general hate towards them, what's your actual experience with gaming laptops? Prices range from 700 to 2000+ € here in Germany, but I won't buy anything that costs more than 1500.

It's decent, just pick a phone that has stock/near stock android. Like something from Nexus/Pixel range or Motorola's stuff. Or some Chinese stuff like Xiaomi/Oneplus and flash it.
>>
>>60139060
Android is still pretty bad. Still buggy and poor quality apps, etc. Just buy another iPhone. The iPhones have dropped in quality too imo but still miles ahead of Android.

Just bought my mom a 6s, its great for typical use.

I have a C++ question,

I'm fairly new to programming and I'm wondering why people say it's bad practice to
 using namespace std;

I was wondering if anyone could explain the reasoning behind this to me.
20 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
You should stop using C++. It's complete garbage.
>>
>>60138798
because when you use
 std::cout
, it will force you to understand namespace better.
>>
>>60138815
My uni does this thing where they'll make you take a classes that use Java for one semester, the C++ for two, and then Java for another. I just finished an OO class and I feel like every time I get into one language I get pushed to another. It's probably a good thing, nothing wrong with learning another language, but it seems hard to get really good with either language that way.

anyone have fios? boston's finally getting it and it'll be available in my area starting monday.

currently paying $95 with cumcast for 100mbps down, 10mbps up, and basic hd cable, but i can get dat dere gigabit internet, tv, and a useless land line for the same price.

my big concern is the piece of shit router you need to get. Fios-G1100. I've heard shitty news about the wi-fi strength being subpar. that's my biggest problem. all my life i've dealt with fucking dropping wi-fi connections. i finally put together a network with non shitty wi-fi and i'd hate to go back to that.

gigabit internet, tv and land line for $95 with verizon?
lol keep dreaming
>>
Then just get a Wi-Fi repeater or some stupid shit like buy another router and turn on the Wi-Fi extending setting or whatever. Google it nig nog
>>
>shitty router you have to get in order to use the service
Don't get me started on why this is bad (privacy concerns etc.)

Why do these companies keep forcing users to get services they won't use like landlines?
It's 2017. I can't even remember the last time I used a landline.

Also, I just don't understand why some people still watch TV in 2017, when streaming services like Netflix, Hulu etc. are around. Hell, even if you don't have those, you can still torrent.
