I didn't see a thread on this in the catalog. What does /g/ think about this new report on Facebook and rejecting code written by women more than men?

who cares
>>60182465
Facebook MUST have rejected it ONLY because a woman wrote the code and despite it working fine, what other possible reason could there be?
>>60182465
>facebook code written by women rejected more than code written by men
Must be gender bias.
>github code written by men rejected more than code written by women
Face it, women are better programmers than men.
Really makes you think.

This
I took about 20 minutes to set mine up when I first got it a few years ago and have made almost no changes since then. It allows me to easily find and play my music and gives me helpful information about it, and also has some nifty visualization tools for when I want to zone out. There's not much more I could ask from a music player.
If you're looking for some shmancy-pants riced version then put in at least the minimal effort required to download and install some skins for it.

/pcbg/: Post your component list; rate other anons'; ask questions in general.
State the PURPOSE of your PC & BUDGET. State COUNTRY if not USA.
List GAMES/SOFTWARE you use often. List resolution & hz if gaming.
Seeking build improvements? Clarify goal: lower price or improved specs?

Currently worthwhile CPUs:
>G4560 for budget builds (<$500) unless G4620/i3-7100 is heavily discounted
>i3 are only worthwhile for dwarf fortress & single-purpose emulator boxes
>i5 aren't worthwhile. Get Ryzen 5, drop down to G4560, or up to R7/i7
>R5 1400 is not worthwhile unless discounted
>i7-7700k is good but bad value. If over budget, an R5 is probably as good or better for you
>R7/Xeon for compute/multitask/mixed use
Currently worthwhile GFX cards:
>RX570, RX480(if cheap & not blower), RX580, 1080, 1080TI
>RX570 is usually all you need for 1080p@60hz
>RX550 & RX560 are worth considering if you just need 6 monitor support for cheap and/or play low end shit
>1060 & 1070 are worth considering if you already have a Gsync monitor. 1050Ti is for mITX builds or if on sale at ~$100
>Nvidia GPU + Ryzen has issues in many games atm
>Budget builds: consider integrated graphics over a card weaker than RX560
>May for Vega
General:
>No brand/model loyalty. Parametric filters on pcpartpicker can help
>Consider larger SSD-only for what you budget SSD+HDD combined. Add HDD later once needed
>NVMe aren't for faster OS boot. They're primarily for productivity as a scratch disk
>Stop fucking confusing any M.2 drive with NVMe. M.2 is a form factor
>mATX can often save cost as the board+case is usually cheaper
>1 DIMM is significantly slower than 2 DIMMs
Also the last of my shit came in today but its way too fucking hot to build it now.
is this worth the price?

FUCK OFF
Why don't normalfags buy used electronics? It's totally normal to buy a used car, but people won't even think about buying a used laptop.
They don't have a good place to find them on sale. Make a used electronics dealership, put on a cheap suit and you might make a killing. Open it near a college campus.
I only want my own cum on my laptop's keyboard
People aren't used to the idea of fixing electronics and used shit breaks quick. It's normal to buy a used car because people are more comfortable with mechanics.
Sup. Im soon launching an application that connects to a mysql database to save online.
It auto saves changes every 10 or 15 seconds and wont save if the user isnt changing anything.
Realistically speaking, how much entry processes would I need? I'm currently using a shared hosting plan that offers me 20 processes. Just testing the program I can see I'm using 1 process all the time basically.
help
>2017

dude what are you doing
also, how many concurrent mysql connections?
i could use login just as a drm and store on the users computer, but then im afraid my application would be easily cracked
>>60181650
i never had need for anything bigger than that before. wat do.
how many people can i handle with 200 entry processes and 50 concurrent mysql connections?
hi /g/ i just started administrating an active directory in a small lab and I want to ask you if you know about any intresting or usefull group policy
im using windows server 2012 and i am in charge of 19 pc's
currently the only ones I have are some password requirements
>>60181584
Setup a DNS server that redirects any facebook/youtube/anything normies do for fun back to the company's website.
>>60181584
fuck GPO
first understand that a single DC is asking for a dead directory.
immediately get a second DC online and get replication working.
then learn how repadmin works and how to manually trigger things
then figure out how to virtualize them so you have a backup strategy that works
then use GPO to push certs and use certs / FS / ACS to auth everything in your environment
>I deal with active directory failure planning like I deal with HIV. I don't go anywhere near anything that might expose me to it because it'll ruin your life.
>Maybe not for 19 PCs but I'm at 2.5k and counting
>>60182602
I just inherited a mess of split brain AD, sites with replication problems that have gone on for longer than tombstone lifetime, a complete mess. Some computers work at some sites whereas others the fix is to unplug the Ethernet cable before logging in then plugging it back in. Kill me.

So I'm trying to not be a NEET anymore by getting a comfy networking job. I'd like to get the following certifications: CCNA, Network+, Security+, A+. The CCNA is my top priority. Can anyone recommend decent prep materials, free or otherwise? I'll be honest, I'm a neet fuck with no money, so if I need to pay for it, I'll probably try to pirate.
My background: I've got some familiarity with C, C++, Java. I've got basic IT skills, I could probably perform just as good as someone from GeekSquad or something.
>>60181380

My work has signed me up for a free CCNA training course which is funded by the British government. The first thing they told me was not to buy the books, because they will teach things differently from the actual course. You can find PDFs of them if you want, but it sounds like they aren't much use and you won't read them.
There is, however, a book containing all the commands you will need (it's about 300 pages long and costs whatever £13 is in your native currency) that they did recommend. I can't speak for its effectiveness because I haven't read it myself, but supposedly that's the best one to get.
You should also download the Cisco Packet Tracer software so you can practise your practical skills.
