Today I found an iPhone on my way to class. It's locked with a 4 digit code and I haven't tried unlocking it yet. Is it possible to find its owner to return it to them without unlocking it?
>>60198572
Hand it in to an Apple store or wait for the owner to remotely put a message on the lock screen.
You could press Emergency and find some contact information.
Open Siri and ask who the owner is.
For how long will this 9v battery last?
It's been 3rd day already.
6 times as long as a 1.5v battery
Good thread.
9 veeks probably
Worth it?

Those low end Lenovo "ideapad" laptops have abysmal display panels. Something like 40% sRGB and 200:1 contrast. Just piteous.
>>60198344
I had an ideapad as my first personal computer. They decided to make it screech like a demon when it's at low battery by default, that was fun. Build quality was meh and I had overheating issues.
>>60198344
Not werth it in my opinion. It greatly depends on the ideapad but consider this: I have an ideapad G 50-30 with a celeron N2840 and 8GiB RAM (had 4 initially) and 1TB HDD and with this config i paid 250 euros (inb4 europoor) without windows (but i used win 10 edu from uni). A few days ago i scored a thiknpud L412 with i5 540m (no hdd no ram no power supply) for 16 buckaroos on ebay and with shipping i paid 64 euros total (from murica). The difference in speed in the quality of the screen cant make up for the difference of buying something new.
My new 2K Ultrasharp has 1 permanently lit red pixel, should i RMA? or can it be fixed?
just run this for a a few days straight and it will be good as new: http://www.jscreenfix.com/fix.html
>>60197864
RMA, Dell has a 1 pixel 3 yr warranty. They'll even ship you the replacement first. Best in the industry far as I know.
try something like this

Exokernels are in every way superior to microkernels and monoshit kernels, why the hell people still use shit linux?
You guys are a bunch of fucking normies, fine i get it, you guys don't understand this and instead circlejerk about your mechanical keyboard or some linux distro.
>>60197530
Seems like a huge pain in the ass
Isn't this essentially a driver
What if it has security exploits, more shit to worry about
How is this loaded alongside the original kernel
What can be achieved with this that can't be with kernel modules or drivers

I fucking hate you guys. Every last one of you.
Note to newfags, don't be me like. Buy Intel and never look back.
>he bought 8gb of RAM to pair with his 8-core CPU
>he bought an 8-core CPU to play games
>he uses Linux to play his games
>he posts on the technology board and not the video games board
Nice one OP you're a very intelligent guy.
>>60197360
Perhaps you should've considered how the hardware will be used when buying it? Having said that, I've started to realize that many of the people I know, myself included, have hardware that is just overkill for what its meant to do.

This is the official VIM waiting thread
Post here when you're waiting for VIM to leave visual mode or complete a task -- who knows how long it'll take
I have never had experience with this. You might want to consider looking at your plugins/vimrc
Vim loads/operates on 10k line files in seconds
you're a retard if your vim isn't responsive.
>>60197466
post your vimrc/github
are normies to stupid to program?

imo I just think they're like "Oh, only Tesla-tier autists will understand this shit, my uncle who's a truck driver told me so, so I'm not going to bother actually trying to learn this shit."

Alright lads. I have an 800$ budget to build a new PC. Can someone point me in the right direction of making something decent for this amount of cash?
>>60196793
Ryzen 5 1600, decent b350 motherboard, 8gb RX 580 or 6gb GTX 1060 (if need for games, other wise invest rest into ryzen 7 and better mobo/cooling). Get 8 or 16 GB( depending on usage) of DDR4 RAM With at least 2666MHz. Finish off with any decent storage, case and PSU
I can if you post this thread in /wsr/
>>60196793
>logicalincrements
If you buy intel cpu when ryzen exists you will be labeled stupid. Cheers!
Smartphones were the biggest mistake in the history of technology
>>60196471

iPhone 7 dramatically improves the most important aspects of the iPhone experience. It introduces advanced new camera systems. The best performance and battery life ever in an iPhone. Immersive stereo speakers. The brightest, most colorful iPhone display. Splash and water resistance.1 And it looks every bit as powerful as it is. This is iPhone 7.
Maybe. I can't take smartphones / mobile devices serious. They are gadgets, perfect for light browsing, messaging and similar tasks, but they can't replace a desktop computer or notebook.
How can I hack my friend's Facebook?

Sage
there's a .dll file that comes with CLIP studio (you may have known it under different names, kinda schizophrenic with their product name, "Manga Studio" was one of the most recognized ones iirc)
If you try to scan it with ClamAV (and thus with immunet, too) the engine just fucking gives up and the service just drops dead.
The file is legit, but every time I launched a full scan it would get to it and fucking die, leading to some stupid ass shit going on in the background like executables popping up in the fonts folder
What I'm trying to say is, what's this year's AV to use? Don't you dare say Common Sense, chrome and firefox with umatrix and noscript still aren't secure enough, and the video drivers of choice come bundled with vulnerable browsers that you cannot disable the functionality of.
