i have no heavy programs opened
>inb4 "install gentoo"
i work with several programs that are windows-only and don't want to bother with a vm

What is /g/'s opinion on this Hydrus thing?
https://hydrusnetwork.github.io/hydrus/
Looks kinda neat and handy, anybody used it?
Do you have to tag stuff yourself? I need some sort of AI.
>>60266109
I think you tag it yourself unless you're getting it from a source with tags that it can scrape.
It's open source so you could probably train your own tagger and hook it in or something.
>>60266158
I already have so many images though
Still seems like something worth doing
One of my neighbours still has this old CRT TV and he doesn't even use the remote, instead he cumbersomly walks up to it to change channel
what do?
leave him alone you meddling kike, he's fine with his non consumerist ways and he gets to do exercise
>>60265905
>gets to do exercise
hes like 104 and looks like a lapdance would give him a heart attack
>>60266045
guess what, that's whats keeping him alive instead of fusing with his sofa
leave him alone

post blinys
/g/ built me a computer in 2006 which still works perfectly. I cannot bring myself to replace it as my home PC.
Fuck you /g/. Generations of hardware have come and gone and I've not gotten to enjoy any of it. No joy of unboxing new desktop components. No gloating over my "rig." Just this 10 and change year old box.
>my 70 dollar phone is pretty shitty but does exactly what I need it to do so its not a problem
I want a cool new fast phone just to have
Is there any cool cheap piece of technology that isn't really well known in the mainstream?
Preferably below 200$
>>60265094
I like pocket radios
It goes by a variety of generic and proprietary names, but it's basically an electrically driven active window frosting. Stuff goes either clear or translucent depending on power input.
It comes rather close to your budget to do even a single window, but I think it's a pretty cool piece of tech. See if you can get it on the cheap from China.
>>60265259
Other anon but interested - is it a film that you apply onto your window, some sort of coating you put on it and then attach wires to directly, or what am I supposed to imagine here?
How often do you clean your computer /g/?
whenever it's dirty

What is that, Sumer?
Question for my fellow wincucks: Now that the dust has settled, is it safe to update to Creators?
I've been deferring the Anniversary one for half a year on the account of massive pile of bugs it had. But it seems that the latest iteration wasn't botched that badly. So, does it *just work* like it should or am I in for unwanted beta-testing?
I know there was an issue with the last update which supposedly fucked Broadcom Bluetooth, but I just tested it out and it worked fine. Guess they straightened that out.
Anything in particular you'd like for me to test?
>>60264964
I ha no complains, but my PC is just a shitpost machine that I also use to play poker.
>>60264964
Dunno i upgraded to 7 already :^)

Hey guys,
I need sone kind of CAD software for woodworking, metalworking and so on. Which one could you recommend, it should be easy to use and free for students.
So far I think SketchUp Make is a good choice, would you recommend AutoDesk software?
check your universities offers
mine has siemens nx
It's for personal projects, I am studying electrical engineering.
>>60264535
FreeCAD is one alternative that has largest open source market share. Other than that, Solidwork and AutoCAD beat most competitors. You won't get much alternative going the free route, so check if you have any other options.
What actually is the difference between the linux distros? Why would you go for one over the other?
I know that they all use the linux kernel, and that Gentoo complies itself locally.

your government won't be able to protect you from terrorists
Daily reminder that government sponsored spying is for your good (protection against terrorists) and that you needn't be afraid if have nothing to hide.
Post your ID with your face clearly visible, social insurance number, and full browsing history.
>>60264309
I'm okay with giving all that information to my government - the same entity that protects me from our enemies. Not to a stranger on an anonymous image board - you could be a fucking Russian commie.
>>60264328
Civil servants aren't elected, they're hired. They could be Russian spies, too. Civil servants are civilians like you or me, they're under paid and prone to corruption. Who do you think "the government" is?
