All you need to know is that Shinola detroit was so named because you faggots dont know shit from shinola.
I've been through that facility twice and I'd rather the whole movement was assembled and cased up in china rather than buying the parts, and having otherwise unskilled, jobless hipsters and shitskins fumble them together.
I'd rather own a fossil, or any number of fashion quartz watches than those ugly, poorly made overpriced chickshit watches. (made in detroit, lol. Partially assembled, maybe)
>he doesn't appreciate both quartz and mechanical movements
ITT: rubber dome keyboards that aren't shit
Pic related
The basic logitech ones.
clean your keyboard ffs
oh wait, you can't because it's a rubber dome piece of shit.
How does data get sent to over a billion transistors in a clock cycle over only 1151 pins? iirc a Skylake/Kabylake i7 has 1.7 billion transistors, that means each pin has to send/receive signals for 1.4 million transistors.
>>60272549
I assume you have nothing better to do.
Plenty of spice.
>>60272549
You give instructions to the CPU and get a result.
It does the calculations based on the instructions not based on constant input from the pins.
Nobody will be in agreeance with one another about the best CPU.
Pic may or may not be related.
It's bretty gud doh.

AMD probably have backdoors as well, fuck AMD probably chinkbotnet.
to be totally honest with you /g/uys, i know very little about hardware and computers. is there any reading you can recommend me that is modern and up to date that will give me a good understanding of the hardware inside of a standard computer and its functionality (in a way that is understandable for someone that isn't an engineer)?? i know hands on learning is probably best, but i don't really have the resources since i don't want to fuck up my only computer which i'm posting from.

>>60271546
Verisis.
The old people using it haven't died yet. They also make money off of ads now.
>>60271561
but what do they even do now? nothing?
what are some good laptops for personal work? taking college courses and learning to program. I just want it to be fast. Also should i make the move to linux and why?
bumping.

STOP
went to charge my Nexus 5X, and I noticed that it didn't charge and won't then tried a different cable, hooked it up to my computer and it said "Power surge on hub port. A USB device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port".
is my phone fucked?
>>60270944
Replace the battery.
Give it back, Tyrone.
>>60270944
Did you even restart it?
What did they mean by this?

>learn that I can read my passport's chip with an nfc phone
>extract all the data
>use an obscure foss tool to decode/convert it
>now have a full digital version of all my epassport data, photo, and government digital signatures
>neat
>store it in a folder on my desktop lazily named "ep", forget about it
fast forward ~7 months
>be compiling a large rule34 collection
>strictly organised by name of primary featured person
>group in folder by first two characters of namemi/misty_004.jpg

ra/rapunzel_001.jpg
>organising this on my desktop
I'm sure you can see where this is going
>all done, multiple GiBs
>upload to the various shady MegaUltraRapidZoomShare dot com sites
>which all suck but I don't know anywhere better
>post links in various places (but thankfully not 4chan yet)
>feel pleased with myself for accomplishing something
>decide to take another look at the zip for whatever reason, this time ordered by date modified
>ep
>months old
>what's this
FUCK
>look for delete links
>only have two of them, at least two others I can't delete
The kind of people looking for epona porn could now clone an rfid chip and go through a passport gate as me.
>realise I should call and report the passport lost
>but I'm a loner virgin who rarely goes outside
>so I don't know any professionals who could counter sign for a replacement
So if I cancel it I'm fucked. Trying to determine the risk.
>probably not many people downloaded it
>ep/ is an unlikely place to look for most
>they would need to recognise what the files are
>but it has a very obviously ID style neutral expression portrait as a jpg file so it's kind of obvious and the other files have standard icao names
>people whacking it to rule34 are probably not connected with underground fake passport networks and wouldn't be able to do anything anyway
Do I risk it and do nothing? This is literally the worst possible way I could fuck up posting porn on the internet. I feel sick.
just ignore it until something happens and them claim you were hacked.
I doubt anything will happen
You're so fucked.
>>60270912
Time for a new passport, friend, and yes, you should report it as lost
I've just bought a new desktop from a garage sale, runs fairly fast for it's age, runs on x36 Vista. What kinds of programs does /g/ recommend? I've already decided on Palemoon and a few other things, just need some suggestions.
BSD or Linux work wonders on older hardware.
>>60270909
Install Gentoo.
>x36
eh?
Do you think it would be neat to have a USB handset that looked like this for making VOIP calls?
>>60270794
I guess. I've seen plenty of them for sale in different places, so if you're shopping for a gift I guess it's a pretty interesting one.
>>60270808
Have you? I've never seen one that wasn't a real telephone.
>>60270816
Yeah, seen them on different tech gadget sites. Most of them look like old landline phones and then there's some wacky ones like a nuke launch button which acts as the call/answer/end call button.
>TFW you will never run a massive botnet and get rich as fuck
What's even the point of learning programming anymore.
>underage discovers the world is not all unicorn farts and happy smiles
So are you gonna hang yourself or not?
>>60270806
Why are you using a tripcode, this isn't twitter?
>>60270835
That's actually hard to explain. I'd have to write like a 10 page long essay, summarize the points, and somehow get that crunched into a page at best.
What is your chosen desktop for on the go gaming for lan parties and cons?
>>>/v/
literally about video games
>>60270618
I'm far too autistic and clumsy to bring it anywhere It could be easily broken.
>>60270650
how would it get broken at a lan party?
