What is this bullshit?
hello, is this the thread for asking stupid questions?
>>60270601
Yes
Ok so I'm 28 years old and I'm desperate for making good money, preferably online, either as an entrepreneur or working for someone.
What are some /g/ approved jobs and skills I can learn to get to a point where I can work on computers all day?
Never done programming, but is learning Swift + some Objective C viable?
>Swift + some Objective C
Just forgo the ObjectiveC at this point and learn only Swift. Most likely than not, you won't have to do anything outside of Swift you just want to be in the Apple ecosystem.
>learning phone languages
You're going to be making shit apps that nobody cares about and gets you no money unless you make the next flappybird.
>>60270538
>You're going to be making shit apps that nobody cares about and gets you no money unless you make the next flappybird.
I assume if I learn good ASO (good descriptions, screenshots, etc) + some minor blackhat methods for ratings when the app is released I could make good money.
you think money will make you happy you are going to be surprised when it doesnt, and dickhead A, who always makes more than you, has everything you think you want and is a dick
>There is only one correct way of kernel design and it is the way of TempleOS.
>Written in HolyC, non-networked, ring-0 only. As God intended.
Prove me wrong, /g/.

Boy, Terry Davis, you are going to be so disappointed when I tell you that your OS is running on Intel hardware.
>away from the desk
>use Razer Blade as a performance laptop
>come home
>connect laptop to Razer Core eGPU, external monitor(s) and other desktop peripherals
>enjoy Razer Blade as an even more powerful workstation desktop
>you are now living the power convertible lifestyle
How can a setup be so comfy?

Is OS X botnet? Any info on Apple stealing your info and selling it to advertisers, etc.?
Got a macbook but OS X is so nice I don't want to swap over to another Linux distro.
>pic is mfw I have to use windows 10
>>60269822
Probably not, especially given their history of standing up to the feds, but their shit's all closed so you can't be sure.
https://www.apple.com/privacy/
>>60269822
Welp, iOS is a botnet.
Which to pick?
As a sales rep in wireless the s8 and s8+ definitely smoke the G6
>>60270436
When do release prices for Samsung flagships typically drop? S8+ is right up my alley but a stack for it is not preferred
>>60270454
Shit uhhh a year or two
Has anyone been getting this lately? A week ago everything was running fine but then starting on Thursday I started getting these more and more. I reinstalled my windows and now it feels like my system is running even more sluggish. Anyone else having this problem? I can't even install updates
>>60269738
Install gentoo
>>60269738
Step 1: Disable that faggot-ass error screen.
Step 2: Ensure that you have memory dumps turned on
Step 3: Examine the eventlog or the memory dump and find out what driver was active during the crash
Step 4: Update drivers for that thing, or replace that thing.
My money is on you having a video card that's about toast.
>>60269738
Your first problem is you forgot to install gentoo. do that first then come back
This is it, this is the last straw, mozilla has convinced me to use another browser, when they disabled my addons because they're are not compatible with their shitty multi-process and they don't let me re-enable them.
/r/ the state of the current firefox forks.
>whaaaa my software went in a better direction and the add-on developers are not updating for the better change so I am going g to fucking cry about it whaaaaaaaaa
>>60269248
Whoever's in control of firefox right now is intentionally tanking the browser
I suspect fox in the henhouse
Remember the old CEO got ousted and fired for a donation he made 6 years prior being made public
There was a corporate takeover, and ever since then firefox has been crumbling, probably by intention.
>>60269269
Thats not the fucking problem, this is about the multiprocess feature that has been available for quite a while, youre probably thinking about Web extensions.
Let's talk chairs.
What are you using?
What is the best chair for the money in your opinion?
>pic related is the IKEA Markus I've heard good things about.
>>60268823
Why does that chair have a dick?
>>60268833
It's for the pleasure time
>>60268823
I have the same chair. Its a really good chair, the only regret I have is not getting it in leather because I now have a small hole burned into it and a small stain. If you shell out a bit more for the leather, you wont regret buying it. Ive had it for a year now.
Did I fuck up /g/?

true.
how do i get an input in a phone call?, for example if i ask the user to enter a 1 in the phone how i obtain that input.
i am obtaining the inputs through a modem and i am developing a windows program
Why haven't you embraced the future and moved to Swift like everyone else?
>>60268435
because i dont want to make software for apple products
>>60268435
Convince me.
You can both compile and script with it.
#!/usr/bin/swift

movies and media are fine on 16:10, or just get a tv, you now, they were actually made for that.

CPUs:

>R5 1500X will keep above 60fps in every game. No i5
>R5 1600 is the best value for higher fps gaming and mixed usage, 1600x if you don't want to OC
>i7-7700k for high 144hz framerate but heats a lot.
>R7/Xeon for compute/multitask/mixed use. R5 if budget
Graphics:

>RX580 8GB - 1440p@60-75hz, inject SMAA and drop settings for some games
>1060 - Gets outperformed by the RX 580, consider only if AMD is not an option (CUDA, Linux)

General:
>READ PRODUCT REVIEWS on a retailer page to see if that cheap SSD/PSU or whatever is reliable.
>Consider larger SSD-only for what you budget SSD+HDD combined. Add HDD later once needed
>NVMe aren't for faster OS boot. They're primarily for productivity as a scratch disk
>Stop fucking confusing any M.2 drive with NVMe. M.2 is a form factor
>mATX is often cheaper as the board+case is usually less
>1 SR DIMM is slower than 2 DIMMs

Rate my build. I'm also torn on the CPU Cooler since I'd like to get a good cooler that doesn't require having to wait for AM4 brackets to come in the mail and work out of box.
I am aware it comes with a cooler of it's own but I plan to OC it as high as possible while keeping cool temps
Looking for more input since the thread died early.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gvZFhq
Should do the 470 or find a comparable 570 or wait for the 560s to roll out later this month?
>>60268017
Le Grand Macho comes with AM4 bracket if it states it does.
>>60268058
Depends on game. For some games, you'll get CPU bottlenecked heavily and the RX560 is a better match. For others, the G4560 with the RX470 or RX570 is fine.
Be honest, is he paranoid? All this talk about Big Brother tracking us and so on.
